Did you see where Texas is working to hire David Cutcliffe in one of those "advisory" or "analyst" roles? Pretty cagey. Of course, this is an attempt by Texas to cater to Team Manning for Arch. Guess you saw where they've eliminated Clemson and it's now down to GA, Alabama and Texas. You heard anything about his timeline? Seems he'd want to get this completed before his season starts.

Doubt Cut does it. He’s got a bad ticker and his heart doctor is at Duke. His daughter works for Duke and her kids are there. He’s not making a 4 or 5 yr commitment halfway across the country.

Would agree given those concerns. I don't think they want 4-5 years out of him, they want just enough time to sign Arch Manning, that's the ultimate goal.

And then the kid freely transfers before playing and Sark looks like an even bigger idiot and a snake in recruiting. I personally think the kid plays the game and ends up at Ole Miss. He doesn’t need a massive school to sell his brand like Ewers did. Cuts wouldn’t come there to trick the kid and if they led him on too, that whole family will make Texas pay.

We'll see, the "experts" claim Team Manning(keep in mind this is a family thing here with most of their clan involved) has eliminated Clemson and it's down to Texas, GA and Alabama.

Yeah I saw that. Until that happened inspite of what many were thinking he was Athens bound. For whatever reason they like Kirby. Still have a shot if Monken stays around. But was pretty much done deal until Cutt to Texas. They are Ole Miss people but Kiffin puts too much emphasis the qb running. The family knows and like Monken, so still a chance just not as good as last week.

His timeline is take his visits, Likely multiple visits, to each school and announce before season starts. Of course that is a pretty loose time frame as it could come at any time. Our staff was very confident, but the Cuttcliff hiring would be a game changer. I don't think he signs with OM with Kiffin, Arch isn't a Peyton back there, but he isn't Archie either

They can control anything they want surrounding him at Ole Miss. Not the case elsewhere. Cut is the type of guy who likes familiarity. I don’t think he coaches the kid unless it’s as a private coach, UGA has a better chance of getting him as an assistant with his ties to Matt Luke than Texas does. He doesn’t know anyone at Texas.

Suggest this is a last ditch effort by Texas to stay in the hunt. BTW, the item I read said Texas was "attempting" to hire Cutcliffe not that they actually hired him.

There is no guarantee Sark will be there a year from now. IF Jimbo starts doing better they are not going to be happy being 2nd fiddle to A&M. Back in the day, I know you remember, Arkansas and Texas was a huge rivalry. Sark lost to them too last year, I suspect he is on thin ice and a short timeframe to get things turned around. If they come calling with their big checkbook not many will turn them down.

A little off topic: where does Daniels end up, Grumpy?

No idea where he is looking. When he first announced there was some speculation of OM maybe being a landing spot but I don't think he could hold up in Kiffin's offense.

Dart is the perfect guy for Kiffin, big athlete, fast with nice arm. Big problem for him is he tries to do too much, frequently plays out of control. Be interesting to see if Kiffin can lasso him in. Talent's there.

Sorry but not sure who you are talking about. But that would be someone Kiffin would like. I was a little surprised Bo Nix didn't give them a long look, maybe he did and just decided no.

Jaxson Dart is 5* transfer QB from the real USC. From Utah, 6'3 or 4, 220 or so. Really good athlete but a bit of a wild child. Like I said, talented but Kiffin will have to give him a short leash as he tries to do too much sometimes. I fell into that "PAC-10 After Dark" or whatever they called it last fall, saw him play a few games.

Who had him as a 5 star?

Don't know, that was coming out of HS. I never looked into his HS years but often had him referred to as 5*. Think he was POY in Utah his senior year.
Gatorade POY is pretty meaningless. Especially on the state level. I mean Tate Martell was National Player of the Year his year.

Don't know if it was Gatorade or something else. Again, the guy has plenty of talent but is wild as a buck. Kiffin's gonna have to sit on him.

We never recruited him and he isn't from the region explains a little. Seems to be perfect for Kiffin, Corral was quite the wild child himself coming out of HS. But I have to say I admire his competitiveness and loyalty.

I was thinking the same thing, if I were going to go for the unobtainable, well that includes alot but you know what I mean, she wouldn't be anywhere near the top of my list. I wouldn't even be disappointed when she said get lost. I am more the Scarlett Johanson type
See, different strokes, different folks. Scarlett doesn't do it for me. I am becoming fond of Sydney Sweeney though, oof.

He was 4 star out of HS. 247 revaluated them in the portal. He was elevated to a 5 star ,99 transfer
That’s insane. He did not play like a 5 star at USC at all. 9 TDs to 5 INTs. A TD to yards ratio of over 100 yards. And it wasn’t like he was facing power houses when he started.

Didn't Texas just get the millionaire NIL deal QB transfer from Ohio State? He is only 18 now and just completed his first year of college.

The kid was held back. He reclassified and grad at 18 like most normal HS kids. He turns 19 in a few weeks

OK, but he is nonetheless at Texas now-- Quinn Ewers. Funny as hell if Manning goes to Texas ultimately-- the Ewers kid will find a new home home again-- but if he leaves Texas eventually he'd have to sit out a year if going to another DI school.

I still won't be surprised to see Ewers end his career at somewhere like a Northern Iowa or a North Dakota State.

No way to say what they would do and manning may be better, but Ewers is the highest rated QB ever according to 247. He is the only QB to have a perfect rating, Manning and Lawrence didn't. Ewers will only play the next two years and go pro
