Here is an impressive Stoops stat vs. top 25 opponents

Let's not forget where Stoops has this program. 16 straight non-conference game winning streak. There were two wins just this year 31-0 vs Southern Miss and 41-7 vs Ohio U. It was not that long ago these games were nail biters and I would hold my breath until UK had the game won. How about 5 straight wins vs Louisville and 6 of the last 7 including beating a coupe ranked Card teams. The UL games were not pretty a decade ago. Then we get to the 14 wins vs ranked teams in 11 years. How about 2 10-win seasons and 2 New Years Day bowl game wins over Big Ten opponents. I am in my 50's and have not seen this type of success on the grid iron. Do I want the Cats to stake the next step? Heck yeah, I do that is why root for them to win every game they play and get disappointed when they lose. I just like the fact Stoops has raised the program to respectability. I want to see him take the next step and achieve a playoff berth. Keep competing in games vs top ten teams like Goergia and Ole Miss games this year and they will get there.

If you are grading on a curve it is mediocre.... That is a well below 500 record. Not mediocre, not horrible, but bad. That is a simple fact. Also, do we just forget about the vacated wins? Was that 2 seasons worth? Those are also a fact. The guy has built it up better than it was, don't get me wrong, but I still believe his peak has been reached and if you aren't moving forward you are moving backward.

Strangely enough, that lawyer was John Adams and not The Hack, though they were classmates in law school.

True.

I kind of had to drag Adams along . . . those Boston types ain’t all that Damn smart . . . at least that’s what Thomas Jefferson told me.

His numbers against teams ranked 10-25 are more impressive, at or over 50 percent.

And his numbers against top 10 teams is very modest, the only two wins being against U of L and Ole Miss.

But that last stat is almost a “parlor trick.” The vast majority of those Top 10 losses have been to Georgia and Bama, each (or both) steaming their way to National titles, or four-team playoffs. If you exclude only two or three teams, nationally, the whole of college football has modest records against Top 10 competition, especially against Georgia and Bama.

Heck, how many losses do Georgia and Bama have, combined, since 2017, and how many have been to another Top 5 opponent, or to each other? I think Georgia lost to South Carolina in 2017, and Bama got beat by A & M once in regular season play and by Texas once in regular season play. UT beat Bama once the last decade in regular season play. I assume LSU beat Bama in their title run a few years back.

Without looking, I’m guessing Georgia and Bama, combined, have a total of maybe 18 losses the last 7.5 seasons, with almost all coming from losses in the SEC Championship game, in the playoffs, or to one another. Hence, their combined records for the last 7.5 years is in the range of 158-18 . . . . with 3 or 4 real upsets.
I was surprised, they have 22.

The vacated wins had ZERO to do with Stoops. I'm not surprised to see you banging the same drum. You refuse to realize the position UK football is in. Statistically Stoops is the second best, but winningest coach in UK history.

In our history.

But yet you think we can just find the right coach to take us to the top. Your argument reminds me of a discussion I had with my nephew. He is yet another kid who thinks socialism/communism is a great idea. I ask him why its never succeeded and he immediately says no one has done it right.

You're just as sure that there is some HC who can finally do it right here. Despite the fact that Kentucky has a tiny recruiting base, we lack extensive wealth among boosters, our state is poor and now kids, especially the good ones, expect to be paid well. On top of that we're historically a basketball school.

You may want to appreciate Stoops. Other coaches say what he's done here is nearly a miracle for a reason. It is. You're gonna miss him when he's gone.

He should’ve been brought in to get us to 6-7 consistent wins a year then we move on.

Unfortunately, we’re still stuck at 6-7 wins after 12 years and we have fans who think that because UK football couldn’t win in 1975 that we shouldn’t try winning in 2024.

By the way, he’s only beat like three SEC teams with a winning conference record in the last three years by the end of the season, which is a more accurate judgment than who was ranked we played. After all it ain’t about how you start it’s how you finish.

His record is likely under .500 after the vacated season, which is horrid.

The man making 9 million a year publicly stated that middle class folk like most of us need to pony up and donate more money just so he can continue being mediocre.

Then he, along with deon walker and others players publicly mocked the fans and university the night he was about to bail on us.

I’m amazed at how many fans are still kissing his ass. I hope his sorry ass leaves for Iowa after this year.

Man I feel dumb for being so hard on him. I was happy he stayed, I still sometimes get upset with his time management and risk adverse style but the wins speak for themselves. STOOPS for president!

During his career, UK is 14-28 vs. top 25 teams. Maybe that only sounds mediocre to you.

Well per yesterday's LHL, check out the UK coaches going back the last forty years against ranked teams:

Joker 1-12
Brooks 2-25
Morriss 1-7
Mumme 3-16
Curry 1-20
Claiborne 2-22

In short, the last six UK coaches combined to win a grand total of TEN games vs. ranked teams, while Stoops already has 14.

To quote a famous trial lawyer: "Facts are stubborn things; and whatever may be our wishes, our inclinations, or the dictates of our passion, they cannot alter the state of facts and evidence."
Unfortunately this says more about our history that it does stoops’ coaching prowess!

Tsk, you should post this on the paid board. Lots of good stats here. This would surprise a lot of posters.

Unfortunately, we’re still stuck at 6-7 wins

When was the last year we had 6 wins under Stoops!

When you suggest we are “consistently” stuck at “6-7 wins” it hurts your argument a tad GIVEN THAT WE’VE NEVER FINISHED WITH SIX WINS UNDER STOOPS.

This marks you as either the most casual of fans, or one who really not a fan.

Sure, let’s do some math!

This is year 12. We had to vacate 10 wins from 2021. So erasing that year and not counting this year since it’s not completed, he has 63 wins. Divide 10 years by 63 wins and that equals 6.3 wins per year.

Do you understand? Pretty pathetic, huh.

Lol.

I went to Winsipedia, Wikipedia, and our opponents websites. No one gives a sh!t what the dying NCAA says . . . as no one has bothered to vacate those wins.

And the mistake had nothing to with Coach Stoops.

What are you talking about?

LOL and how do you know he didn’t know?

Are sleeping with the dude or something? Seriously, get your mouth off his nuts.

And by the way, even if you do count the 2021 season, it’s still 6 wins per year. I’m proving facts that you’re too weak to accept!

I’d be too embarrassed to even post anymore if I were you. You attempted to call me out and it backfired severely. You look like a fool so just stop. Go back to school and learn how to count, kid.
