It was somewhat bizarre that the family of the female pilot did not want her identified. There was a lot of misinformation put out about her identity before it was confirmed, and that fueled some "theories." Once she was identified, then you see her political leanings are confirmed by being a social media aide under the previous administration. I just hope that this was an accident and not an intentional act, but it's hard to watch that helicopter fly directly into that plane without jumping to some awful conclusions.
It's not hard to jump to ridiculous conclusions if you're at all familiar with aviation and night flying. I'm a private pilot and have flown at night quite a bit. It's hard to find individual airplanes in the sky during the day, it's even harder at night, and even harder still doing it over a major urban area at night. All the lights on the ground, on towers, cars, etc. blur together and it's really easy to misjudge what you are looking at. I've thought I had the airport in sight only to find that it was a just a street I was looking at.It was somewhat bizarre that the family of the female pilot did not want her identified. We all want to believe that it was an accident, but there's no way that we can know that with 100% confidence with the information that we have.It was an accident and hopefully lessons will be learned and changes will be made to try and prevent other occurrences.
Even if investigators (of any administration) had the smallest of inklings that it could be an intentional act, then would they tell us? The entirety of details are not always released to the public (i.e. manifestos of mass murderers) in an effort to prevent copycats.Between the president and his adversaries, the immediate politicalization of this tragedy has been ridiculous, but typical. Let’s just wait for the investigation and see how this happened.
Yes, we know it's an accident with the information at hand. If you choose not to believe it, well that's on you. Also, the earth is round, carrots really don't help your eyesight, and we really did land on the moon.We all want to believe that it was an accident, but there's no way that we can know that with 100% confidence with the information that we have.
A calamity of errors. More than can easily be discussed. And all those people paid with their lives.Sensors turned off at that altitude, supposedly. Everything is visual, which makes sense given how much activity in area.
I'm sure it was a calamity of errors, one being her inexperience.
Questions- when did she leave the white house job? Was she getting flying time in while at the white house. If she really had around 500 hours, and just started back flying, who thought that was a good idea to get her reacclimated in one of the busiest areas?
Lol, ok. The pilot of the helicopter took no evasive action whatsoever in the final seconds. That's the one and only thing that we need to see to confirm accident because it would demonstrate a desire to not actually hit that plane.Yes, we know it's an accident with the information at hand. In other words, throw a random theory into the ether that the accident was intentional, thus a terrorist attack which can't be proven because we'd never be told the truth anyway? Not saying this is what happened, but say the pilot purposefully for whatever reason, crashed into that airliner.
Do you think we would ever be told that?

Did I just witness the birth of a conspiracy theory in real time? Maybe the pilot had 16 fingers and really bad breath too.
I frequent a few pilot forums, i talk with current and retired military pilots, current and retired airline pilots, atc controllers, and general aviation pilots. The biggest forum has a 17 page thread about this accident. You know the one thing that was never brought up in 17 pages of comments? This silly notion that it could have been on purpose. Because people that know aviation, know that wasn't what happened.Lol, ok. The pilot of the helicopter took no evasive action whatsoever in the final seconds. I find it extremely entertaining that you think it's actually possible the pilot could intentionally hit the airliner. The Hall Monitor has deemed a theory impossible. His research and investigation has ruled it out. You will now be shamed for contemplating the possibility.
I don't care, Margaret. If it is brought up, then it's probably removed by a moderator on this single website on the entire Internet.I frequent a few pilot forums, i talk with current and retired military pilots, current and retired airline pilots, atc controllers, and general aviation pilots. Ok, Mr. aviation expert, you know soo much more about this subject than people who make their living doing it. I'm done, enjoy wallowing in your ignorance, I'm done casting pearls before swine.I don't care, Margaret. I heard one BH pilot say that you would have 200 to 250 hours just during training ot get certified. He also said flying with nightvision on is weird if you aren't used to it. It may very well be the lack of experience with NV was more of an issue than not flying for a couple years.Sensors turned off at that altitude, supposedly. Everything is visual, which makes sense given how much activity in area.

Two airport employees have been arrested for leaking this video footage of the crash to CNN.There were a few higher resolution videos released recently showing the crash into the Potomac at DC National. It seems unbelievable that the helicopter pilot couldn't have seen the jet with bright landing lights directly ahead.
Tell me you missing the point of government covering its ass without telling me.In other words, throw a random theory into the ether that the accident was intentional, thus a terrorist attack which can't be proven because we'd never be told the truth anyway?

Unfortunately, FAA regulations are mostly written in blood.A calamity of errors. More than can easily be discussed. And all those people paid with their lives.
