Has Kentucky ever had a better pair of true centers that pass as well as Williams and Garrison?

Eric Daniels was a great passer but he wasn't a true center at all; that was just going small with a 6'7" guy at center.
Williams looks like the best passing seven footer I've seen at UK and Garrison is getting more assists than Williams; I don't know if that means he is an even better passer than Williams or has just, for some reason, had more assist opportunities. But I'm drawing a blank on true big men, let's say 6'9" or taller, that pass as well as our current guys.

Bowie was a great passer, Turpin a fair passer, Roby was a good passer as well.

Just quickly, Nazr and Magloire. Bowie and Turpin.

Just saw you said passers... you may well be right.
Yes, for anybody not certain, I was not comparing them to anybody based on overall game, just passing. For instance of course, as somebody alluded to earlier, Issel and whoever was the backup was a better center pair. I'm thinking that person didn't realize I was only talking about passing.

Don’t forget the poor man’s Larry Bird. Michael Bradley dude was a very good player. Just didn’t like Saul as the point guard. Who did!!

Actually Nazr did pass like the current guys and Williams reminds me of Magloire, just not as good a post scorer but a better passer.
I love Big Mel and still believe his turnaround jumper was the best I've seen from a UK big...but when he caught it he sure wasn't going to pass it because that jumper meant he always had a decent shot. Sam had skills; might be in the Hall of Fame if he had stayed healthy.

I had been a fan for a few years when Roby played but I'd be lying if I said I remembered much more than his low post scoring. Bowie could do everything. I mainly remember Mel shooting and I don't remember any of the misses.

I followed Roby from his freshmen year thru the championship, he was a power player but had a good feel for the double team and knew who was open. Bowie when healthy was as good a big man as UK has ever had, could shot, post, pass, block shots and the one lob dunk he made with Minniefield was as awesome as I have ever seen.

Off topic, but mentioning Eric Daniels reminded me again of how unexpectedly crazy the performance of that 2003-04 team was. Probably the best overperformance of any UK team I can remember. The 1989-90 team majorly surprised as well, but they weren't contenders. Before the season I thought the 03-04 squad would be a disaster. I mean a 6’7” 215lbs. Daniels at Center for a top Div. I program? Didn’t end well, but that team shouldn’t have even been considered a shoe-in to make the tournament.

Probably not. When I think “passing big guys” I immediately think Erik Daniels and Antoine Walker. But neither were centers.
Also, I believe we have went through all the possible spellings of ED's first name on this thread and I admit, as I type this but I'm going to look it up, I don't know which is the correct spelling. :)

edit note: congrads Titpwhami2014! You were the one that got it right.

2003 Kentucky had some pretty stellar interior passing. It wasn't necessarily limited to Estill / Camara, but also Daniels, Hayes...

While you look like the same jerk you've always been. I come here to talk basketball and you come to say things to people you'd be afraid to say face to face.
You're right. I said that in a harsh way. I apologize.

What I meant was that their sample size is way too small still - only 2 games - to even think about asking this question.

Recent big men :

PJ Washington was a very good, maybe not in the assist total, but he could find the open man. Still averaged almost 2 assist per game.
Julius Randle
Nerlens Noel
Terrence Jones
Patrick Patterson
