The real question is did you buy a Powerball ticket at Clark’s Pump and Shop, clown?

LOL - Zero, that is the number of scratch-offs and or lottery tickets I've purchased in my life. 🤣

(wait, that isn't exactly true. I used to throw a dollar into the office lottery pool, only because I didn't want to be the only one left if they ever hit. Insurance, so to speak)

Two good shows that are out now, if you haven't checked them out yet.

Your Friends and Neighbors (Jon Hamm, out of work Wall St. mega player, turns to crime, targeting his conspicuously rich "friends", to make ends meet) - Apple TV

MobLand - Tom Hardy (Harry DeSouza) is the muscle for a British crime family headed by Conrad Harrigan (Pierce Brosnan) and his wife, Maeve, played by Helen Mirren. Guy Ritchie standard fare, which is always good - Paramount Plus

MobLand is the better of the two, but they're both solid.

Agree. Mobland had kind of slowed down the last couple episodes, until the very end last night. That car bomb, there will be hell to pay for SOMEONE. Wish Eddy would hurry up and get murked, what a little bitch ass twat. Reading digging "Your Friends and Neighbors".

Also, would like to throw Dope Thief into the ring as far as good shows (Apple TV) Watching all 3 and Raising Kanan (Power series on Starz).

One NOBODY mentions is "King of Harlem". I guess maybe nobody watches it because it is on MGM+. Forrest Whitaker as "Bumpy" Johnson is hard to top as a lead role. Season 4 and I love it.

I think you should start a new thread just to post your complaints.
I am not the only one who has made a post about it. Once, OK, nearly daily, nope.

No running, watery shit dribbling down the leg of the old runners in that marathon, no care.

Though I hate loud ass, smoke stack diesel trucks, simple solution, roll the windows up until the noise / smoke pases. Criminal ? LOL. Should be.

Loved the mid 80's early 90"s Browns teams with Brian Sipe, Bernie Kosar, Earnest Byner, Kevin Mack, Ozzie Newsome, Webster Slaughter, Reggie Langhorne. On defense they had Clay Matthews, Frank Minnifield (spelled different than Dirk, but was still cousins, LOL), Hanford Dixon. Minnifield and Dixon started the "Dawg Pound". They was considered the best duo at cornerback in the NFL and would bark during practice and then the two hung a sign in front of the bleachers in the endzone, the rest is history.

Cheering like hell for Luka/LBJ to get eliminated. All the BS about "Luka this, Luka that, Lakers are a team who can win it all, Mavericks made the worst trade in NBA history" blah blah blah. Would love to see them get sent packing FIRST round. Thought the officials tried their best to keep the Lakers in it.

People talking about the "no call" on Josh Hart yesterday, Uh, no. Watch the rest of the game. From the 3 minute mark of the 2nd quarter on, the refs allowed the Pistons to maul, push, shove, grab, and hack any Knick player while driving or shooting. I watched SEVERAL Piston players commit foul after foul and nothing was called. Poetic Justice the one call they really needed, they didn't get. Enjoyed watching Tobias Harris' bitch ass cry after he all game barked and talked shit to KAT. Tobias Harris = Bitch.

Did Hyman really just ask whether black smoke from a truck be assault?

That's not EXACTLY what I asked. At least not in that obtuse and reductionist form. It should have been clear to anyone with a functioning brain, that I wasn't talking about ordinary/unintentional car/truck exhaust. 🙄 🙄 🙄

And it turns out, that in at least six states, it IS prosecutable. Serves me right though, for asking something that I could have done better myself.

First started rooting for UK when they signed Magliore, who was 2 hours up the road, and we could watch him just about every Saturday on CBS.

Had tickets to UK vs Canisius in Buffalo but couldn’t go due to snow.

Found TCP December 2022 when I was sniffing around prior to us playing UK, trying to find out just how many of our teammates looked like Whoopi Goldberg.

Eventually found my way to The Paddock at the suggestion of a poster who enjoyed me ripping on the stupidity of your average Raftard.

Pre social media, this place was a great place to talk and read about sports. Lots of fond memories, including two road trips down to the bluegrass state and some outstanding hospitality.

Top 3 memories -

Reading GYEROlympics recaps

TommyG/PCC - some people tried to accuse me of doxxing her indiscretions in her hometown or some shit. Literally didn’t care a second beyond the jokes stemming from the gross nudes in GYERO

Unfiltered non PC shit talk back and forth with some diabolical assholes in here- this place definitely had the most laugh until I cried moments online

- That Rockets/Warriors game was a roller coaster, man. Houston mucked the game up just enough to keep it tight, but GS just has too many shot-makers. Didn't really care who won, because Draymond and Dillon basically cancel each other out in my eyes, but that fourth quarter was wild.

- One thing I'll never get used to when watching NBA games is the random sights of NBA players literally sitting on the floor at the end of the bench. For much of the game last night, Reed sat on the floor. Looked more like a ballboy than an NBA player. Same goes for how the benches bump up right against big money seats. At one point TNT was heading into a commercial timeout and there was Fred VanVleet and Jalen Green sitting directly next to Bob and Susan from Walnut Creek or wherever. Weird.

- Other than Angel Hernandez, do people still *know* MLB umpires the way they seemed to be known back in the day? Growing up, I always recognized names like Dave Pallone, Joe West, Eric Gregg, Harry Wendelstedt, etc. It was a rare occurrence when a Reds series didn't include at least one "name" umpire. Maybe they just aren't the personalities they used to be, but other than Hernandez, I never see or hear any mention of them.

Speaking of umpires, I had completely forgotten about that umpire John McSherry dying behind home plate during the Opening Day game in '96. A clip of that game showed up on my feed yesterday and it's still haunting. Had also forgotten that Marge complained about the game being postponed, and took flowers that had been sent to her that day and re-gifted them to McSherry's family. Classic Marge.

- I love dogs, and I love baseball, but I can't imagine anything more stressful than taking my pup to one of those "Bark in the Park" baseball games.

- NHL playoffs are fantastic. My Seattle Kraken didn't make it, so I just pull for the cold-weather teams. It just feels right.

- Trying to watch all the "Mission: Impossible" movies before seeing the final one on an IMAX screen next month. They're ridiculous fun.

The number of times NHL players have been absolutely blasted to the head and former goons have defended the plays (Ekblads elbow and Wilson's shoulder charge as prime examples) are way too high.

Florida and Washington are some slimy bitches for the way they play.

I was at that Opening Day game when McSherry died. We had nosebleed seats so it took a while to understand what was going on. I believe that was also the day of the UK/Syracuse national championship game. What a day.

I'm liking Sandman. Also like Tiztastic and Publisher coming out next to each other. as potential long shots. This field is tough to decipher. Alot of the prep race winners had to close out from bad positions to win. Rodriguez was the only one who had a nice wire-to-wire dominant win.

All you need to know about the teacher/student game is that the teachers won and I am retiring forever. While I can still move and am in decent cardio shape, I cannot play against real defense apparently. Humbling.

As for the hosses:

- Journalism is by far the most consistent horse in the field. Numbers are the best. Should be positioned well enough to make a run at them. Deserving favorite and has nothing wrong. If he is 7/2 or lower, I'll try to beat him. If he goes off at higher odds than 4-1, I'll throw some money at him on top.

- Hard to dismiss Rodriguez. His numbers were stellar in the Wood. Set the fractions and then "rebroke" on his last 1/4. It was clearly the best outing of his career so there are plenty of questions remaining. Can he replicate that? Can he pass a horse? Where is he in his Baffert med cycle? Etc. I haven't decided if I'll play him or not.

- I like Sovereignty as my pick. He will be running late and seems to have a nice turn of foot. He'll have to get lucky on his trip which is concerning. He'll be coming from way back, but he likes Churchill and maybe he can carve his way through the filed like a Street Sense or Orb. I'll be throwing some WIN money on him.

- Burnham Square. The numbers say toss, but he's become the wiseguy horse with the way he has trained the last 2 weeks. He could be sitting on a huge effort. He'll be on the bottom of some exotics.

- Final Gambit. If he can replicate his numbers from synthetic to dirt the way Animal Kingdom did, he could win by daylight. I think he's worth a random dart throw and he'll be in my exotics.

- The numbers and training style on the others don't really jump out at me yet. Luxor Cafe is intriguing but I just can't with the Japanese horses. I don't like Sandman's numbers so I'm trying to beat him.

Payback for the hit on Barkov in game 2. Keep my Panthers outcha dirty whore Carolina mouth.

Well . . . since nothing else is going on, let's talk a little Derby. Who ya like?
Long shots :

-Final Gambit (30-1) - He is a closer, the Derby is a closers race. Has had some really impressive workouts.

-Grande (20-1) - Pletcher horse with John Valasquez on the mount. Another closer, just came up short in the Wood Memorial to Rodriguez.

-Tiz Tastic (20-1) - Bred for the KY Derby and distance. Bloodlines of Tiz The Law and Tapit. Won the 1 3/16 mile Louisiana Derby so the KY Derby ditance will not be any problem.

- Rodriguez (12-1) - Baffert / Mike Smith connection. Runs best as a stalker, can't win trying to be upfront.
-Burnham Square (12-1) - Another closer. Brian Hernandez won the derby last year. Won the Bluegrass this year.

Near favorites :

Sovereignty (5-1) - Bill Mott / Jr. Alvarado. Closer, runner up in the Florida Derby, won the Fountain of Youth.
Sandman (6-1) - Probably will be over bet and kill any value. Another closer. Son of Tapit, bred for KY Derby distance.

Bets : $5 W/P/S on Final Gambit (#3), $5 W/P/S on Grande (#10), and $5 W/P/S on Tiz Tastic (#14)

$2 Exacta box : Journalism (#8) (Posted a 108 Brisnet Figure) / Final Gambit (#3) / Grande (#10)
$57 invested thus far.

That is all for now, will play a couple of exotics. Will put Sandman and Journalism in any of them I bet. But I know Sandman will be bet to a pulp. Probably end up the 2nd favorite.

EDIT : Changed my Exacta box - Originally #8 Journalism / #3 Final Gambit/ #10 Grande

Now : #8 Journalism / #9 Burnham Square / #18 Sovereignty

Added : $5 W/P/S #17 Sandman

$72 invested.

Anyone ever seen the big horse in yard at house next door to Jessie Clark elementary? It was standing on the porch as I drove by today 😀. Back when Topix was around I remember seeing people talk about it, but don’t remember the story. It’s just an odd site.

Speaking about umpires, as a kid I could turn on a game and know exactly who the home plate Blue was just by their called strike motion. Doug Harvey was one of my favorites because he was just so smooth with the call. When I would call the plate the first 2 strikes would be Harvey style, a simple extended arm and then I’d use the “punch out” for strike 3 Frank Pulli style.

Having some cocktails and watching Oweh highlights. A treat, really.

Think he needs to model his game after D Wade. Obviously not trying to compare him to a HOF player, but the way they both play so instinctually is remarkable.

If he can smooth out his shot to 20 feet and improve his handle even slightly he's an All-American and first round pick.

I want Perry to come back, personally, just not sure how realistic that is. The kid from Miami is interesting tho. Looks like a miniature Adou.

Barkov caught it in the chest initially, an actual "playoff" hit, and a penalty was called. I didn't even mention Mikkola boarding Girgensons while he was on his knees (and cramming his head into the wall) and Tkachuk nailing Guentzel an hour after a pass.

But, sure, "playoff" hockey it is.

That being said, a Washington/Florida series would be absolute chaos.

Well . . . since nothing else is going on, let's talk a little Derby. Who ya like?

Burnham Square
Grande
Journalism
Sovereignty
Rodriguez.

I think Citizen Bull gets buried on the rail, I think East Avenue gets sent, but folds like a cheap suit.

The Arkansas horses (Coal Battle/Sandman) are talented, but they aren't running into the pace that Madaket Road/Cornucopian set.

Toss the Japanese horses. Setting soft fractions in their races that they won't get Saturday.

Everyone's high on Baeza, maybe they're just high. Toss.

Flying Mohawk is a toss. Render Judgement is a toss. Owen Almighty is a toss.

The 2 horses that confound me are American Promise and Final Gambit.

Tiztastic, Publisher, Chunk of Gold are horses to use underneath. Neoequos is interesting, I just don't think he's fast enough.

The numbers do not say toss at all. Has the class, speed, and fits the average beaten lengths. Meets or exceeds all par levels. My numbers have Sovereignty 10 lengths back on paper, and not quite fast enough. You'll want to have Burnham on top in some tickets.

Grande got a shit trip in the Wood. Too early a move, bobbled, and fanned wide with Dylan Davis up. Lost to Rodriguez, who could have been lone speed that race. Grande gets Johnny V back.

Final fractions came back terrible for the Bluegrass. It's always a "slowish" race, but still. They were crawling for that last 3/8s.

Also, I'm almost getting to the point where I treat Bluegrass runners like I do the Japanese invaders. Auto-toss for win bets. The last Bluegrass runner to burn me was Essential Quality and even that came with trepidation. After that, I said I wouldn't get burned again.

I took a stand against Brody's Cause back in '16('17?). Didn't get sucked into the Sierra Leone hype last year. I ignored Zandon and Tapit Trice. That saved me some $$$.

BSquare has me curious for sure. But I'm going to let him beat me and keep treating the Bluegrass like I have recently. Good luck!

I hardly ever pay attention to final fractions, it's the first two out of the gate that make or break a horse race. With the general public paying attention this week, I'm always amused how they pay attention to how a horse finishes rather than starts.

I think East Avenue was lone speed in the Blue Grass, so every horse will get downgraded with him laboring to the stretch.

Given more ground in the Wood, I think Grande passes Rodriguez. God help us if Grande wins, the owner will be even more insufferable.

My horse was Tappan Street, shitty turn of luck. I'm excited, I will be at Churchill Thursday on the balcony, then Friday and Saturday on the backside.

Anything can happen, I never want to talk someone off of a horse. Sandman could be the first from the 17 post, who knows. This is my Super Bowl

-A fan of Your Friends and Neighbors. So hard to not see Hamm as anything but Don Draper or a voice in a commercial, though.

-Lake season imminent. I’ve been the proverbial banana on the boat the past two years after being the good luck charm previously. Hoping for a billion stripers, a few walleye, less catfish. Any fish is also ok.

-Camping last weekend with my 7 year old was a lot of fun. Johns Island with some SC buddies. Took way too long to convince her it would be awesome if she just tried it. Maybe she will believe me next time. It wasn’t legit because one guy brought a TV to watch the playoffs but wasn’t mad about it.

-Go Canes!

-My camping chairs are garbage. What’s the GYERO go-to?

-Adding one more guard is ideal. It’s pretty clear the message you give the dude with this roster constructed the way it is. Know what the role is coming in, mop up some cash. We just need a competent handler who isn’t a defensive liability if we somehow lose 3 guys again.

-Mirror Twin KY state outline shirt is 🔥
