Nothing really, in particular. It was merely an academic exercise. Pope had not managed a win there in the tournament and now they're in the Sweet 16 (after, as you said, they lost Jaxson and Chandler) Just making a results based observation, not a hard and fast indictment of Pope.

BYU returned a strong core of players. Saunders is great. Knell and Hall are solid. If Pope were there, they'd have Robinson returning as well. Pope would have to figure out the big situation, but nonetheless they were poised to be better than they were last season.

I feel like we are going to need 5-6 threes from Brea today. Among a bunch of other things that have to happen too.

It’s funny sometimes with lower seeded teams getting to play so close to home. Illinois in Milwaukee and BYU in Denver. Both 6 seeds, just luck of the draw I guess. Oh and of course UL in Lex 😂

So why tf did Pitino leave his best player on the bench the last 3-4 mins of that game yesterday?

I'm perplexed by why we would care what happened with BYU when we just had the year we had in Pope's 1st season.

Did we have avoidable losses that were annoying (and often caused by injury)? Yes. But did we also tie the record for top 15 wins and beat some of our biggest rivals playing some of the most exciting basketball we've enjoyed in nearly half a decade? Also yes.

Win today and nothing else matters. A very winnable matchup with UT and give Houston or whoever hell for a chance at a final four.

I don't care what Cal does, I don't care what the choir boys in Utah do, I care about Kentucky and winning. Focus on that.

With the coronations, comes ruthless criticism… local NY sports radio is ripping Pitino, benching his best player.

“This was his worst coaching decision EVER!”

-uhhh no.

Before anybody gives Pitino a pass for benching his best player for going 3-17, besides Zuby who went 7-12, the remainder of the roster went 11-46. That's a 23% shooting percentage compared to Luis's 17%. That includes Aaron Scott going 1-10, Kadary Richmond who went 2-7, Simeon Wilcher who went 1-5 and that Greek guy who went 1-8.

I want Cal to lose generally but not getting heated about it. Lean your way with BYU.

Love BBN but the neuroses is obnoxious - and I’ll include myself in that in-game.

At what age of your son do you transition from letting him win when you play 1:1 basketball to straight up kicking his ass until he can “earn” a win straight up? Because right now my 9 year old son literally thinks he can beat me any time he wants and it’s a fluke if I pull out a victory. This morning he told me that I’m “so washed” after I let him drive by me and make a layup. He actually believes it. Do I just go beat him like 40-0 next game and ask him “who’s washed now, bitch?” Or do I keep the facade up for five more years when we can have a real competitive game?

It’s awful. Not only does UK have to do well, but anyone and everyone that has ever had an even mildly negative interaction or history with UK has to do awful. My wife thinks I’m nuts. And I am.

My 6 year old likes playing 2 hand touch with me first to 10 touchdowns. I usually beat him 10-9 to make him feel like it’s close. I did that the other day and he threw a tantrum and it pissed me off so I beat him 10-0 the next two times and that seems to have straightened him out.

Can your son beat the neighbor’s mom 1:1?

You owe it to him to beat his ass the next few times.
