Anytime you can lose to a good team by 7, you’ve got to be incredibly proud of that.
Was Z a fake tough guy last year too and we just overlooked it? I've seen him get T'd up taunting and standing over people multiple times the last couple weeks.

I love that all of the concern (albeit mostly reserved) about playing Perry, Noah, and Chandler in critical minutes early in the season has been 100% washed away over the past couple of weeks.

They have all had their moments, and I am quite excited to see how they continue to develop the next 3 years, but if we are relying on them come tournament time like the last 2 games then it’s been a fun year.
The experience Perry and Noah are getting now will pay huge dividends in years to come. At the beginning of the year, I had significant doubts about Perry ever being able to play the point in the SEC at any time in his career.
Fast forward a few months and he's currently the starting point guard on a top 20 team and learning on the fly under the tutelage of maybe the best pure point guard we have had since Tyler Ulis. Noah is having a similar arc. Can't wait to see those guys as upperclassmen.
I would still love Perry to get min off the ball. I want him to hunt his shot. He’s never gonna be able to go around anyone on the dribble.

- I’m as pro Travis Perry as there is and really wanted a Perry/Sheppard back court. Regardless of how dumb that sounds if you thought Perry would struggle to EVER play ball in the SEC you couldn’t have watched him much.
Kid was never the Josh Carrier/Jon Hood type.
I’d say he could be our Damon Bailey but I get why people may have doubts on that.

USC—-Ole Miss——into Auburn. I’d take that draw. Despite realizing how good Auburn is I think we match up well with them with Butler healthy.
- If I had to choose a team to make a real run this March from the SEC I’d say Mizzou or UF. Both teams are just really strong at everything. Auburn is too obvious so I avoid picking them.
- If Pearl doesn’t win it all this year he has to go to IU and they have to make it happen. I like Beard more but you have to give Pearl the nod and I’ll hate that damn place again like I did growing up.
College basketball could go full circle as far as my life time goes and that’s just a surreal thought for me, but I’d kind of like UK/UL/IU to be the center of college basketball again personally.

The fact that Pearl had to emphatically wave his arms multiple times to get the home crowd to stand up and make noise in the last few minutes of a close game should tell him all that he needs to know about coaching at a “football” school. If were him I’d jump at Indiana and the chance to turn that program around.
The single funniest moment, of many, on that show is when Toby walks in and Michael makes his finger go limp.

No, he wasn't. He achieved recognition because Knight started recruiting him when he was in 8th grade.....huge difference.
Travis Perry has a huge upside if he grows a few inches, gains speed, and can guard better than you....slight edge to you at this stage big guy. Knocking down a few 3's here and there isn't exactly all-SEC worthy. He'll be recruited over anyway the next couple of years but should prove valuable off the bench.
Not trying to compare eras but I have my reasons for the comparison and it isn’t because of the recruiting ranking or hindsight production of Bailey.
I realize how good he was in 1990, but I also remember 5’9 Travis Ford torching his ass as a JR/SR too, and I realize Perry’s challenges.
I believe in time the comparison will be closer than it is today, especially as Perry grows comfortable and confident.

This is what I don't understand about you, if a player is rated as the top 9th grader in the country, it's essentially saying he's the best player in his class.
Is he better than the class of seniors 3 years ahead of him? No. But he's the best 9th grader according to that ranking. Consider it like pound for pound rankings. A featherweight may be more skilled than light heavyweights, but he isn't winning that fight.

Nolan was retired, he and Tubby were friends, Tubby trusted him and let him watch practice, then Nolan reported details to UAB coach Mike Anderson, who was Nolan's protege.
