They’re off because it’s President’s Day.
I would pay to see a WNBA All Star team vs a group of middle aged dudes.
The last NBA Allstar game I can remember actually watching was Jordan's last. Carter was supposed to start but wanted to give up his spot in the lineup to MJ. MJ refused at first but relented when Carter said he wouldn't leave the locker room until he agreed.
MJ hit that would be game winning shot sending the arena into a frenzy. Then Kobe gets fouled. I forget who it was came over to tell him to miss the FTs on purpose only to have Kobe give him a "get the eff out of here with that shit" stare. Kobe hits them and it goes to OT where the west wins.
Sometime after that the game became a joke.

Family Feud plays blacks vs whites every episode so the concept isn’t as controversial as you may think.
We did blacks vs whites in gym class - Ballard high. Every now and then, we only had 4 whites and had to snag a guy from the other side called Casper.
We always did well against their hero ball. Shooters shoot…and Casper enjoyed the days he got to join up with us.

Pope has beaten #2 Florida, #3 Duke, #6 Tennessee twice and #7 TexAM. The man can coach. Just get healthy as possible and let's go!
When I was in 6th grade we had a team of white 8 boys who were pretty much the best team in the mid-sized city I lived in. We had been playing together since 2nd grade, so we were not only good individual players, but we just knew what the others were going to do. It was beautiful basketball for 6th grade.
However, there was a black team in town we never got to play. Their coach was my school bus driver and when I asked him about it he just sort of laughed and said "any time any place".
We never played, but the next year in gym class we had our top 5 guys play their top 2 guys plus several bums in a pickup game. Sure enough, they beat the absolute brakes off us. Those two dudes went to UMass and Texas for basketball five years later so at least there was that.
Edit: those two guys beat Ron Mercer's Goodpasture and Oak Hill teams in back to back years, so they were pretty bad ass.

Considering 8 of your players was not a all star and 3 are black, I do not see your reasoning ? Hell if you are going THAT far, just do lights v/s darks. BUT the players actually would have to be named to the All Star roster first before they can actually play in a All Star game maybe ( you left a white player who DID make the team, Tyler Herro) ? Then you would have the controversial task of defining light / dark.
USA against the world is the only way to make it interesting and maybe even have the players give 80% effort.

This year was about not having Cal and maybe being able to enjoy basketball during the winter for once.
Pope threw together a team in a month and has done a better job with them than Cal did over the last 10 years.
We’ve been without a full roster for 2 months and with 2 starters missing, for about the same time frame. What do you expect, without our PG and his backup?
We’ve beaten the better teams when we have everyone healthy. Just let them get healthy again before the tournament and let’s see what happens. I like my team.

whites v black guys all-star game which was Serbia v USA in the Olympics? I think if you added the top 3 non-Serbian white players to that team (not including Tatum and Booker) but then added the top 3 non-American black guys (SGA, Giannis, Wemby), the black team will get better.

- Speaking of Arizona I hope like hell Baylor pulls the upset tonight. They’ve had a few big wins in the last two weeks and they are the one west coast team I’d want to keep some distance from if possible.
- I know it’s a safety thing but I’m fed up with NTI. I was had a post set earlier and thought better of it, but tonight we got word it’s NTI again tomorrow and most likely Wednesday too.

I forgot all about it. I would actually put UK #1. I love the changes. Looks wonderful. I like all your picks. The changes Kansas made were on point. The Allen Fieldhouse lettering is perfect. IU was top 5 until the decided to put that eye chart on both ends of the court. Pitt is definitely in my top 10. I put them over Michigan St.

* Speaking of lassies: she’s built her race production business about half on her own, and about half taking over for a friend who’s been in the biz for 40+ years. He somewhat abruptly decided this weekend he’s basically done, and handing over what he’s got left to her immediately.
Pretty bittersweet. I’m very happy for her success, but also sad to see someone whos given his whole life step away for good.
* We get “bust out the winter coat” weather about 4 days a year. It was 80 this weekend. So while you Northerners are miserable, I’m really looking forward to the freezing temps this weekend.
