I logged off Twitter immediately after the Arkansas game bc I couldn’t bare to read all the mean things people were going to be saying about my beloved Kentucky wildcats. It’s been a blissful week. Not only am I not seeing Arkansas fans gloating, I’m not seeing all the other f*cked up bullshit that darkweb ERRRR I mean X has become. I strongly encourage everyone to try this.

People always talk about blockbuster and the nostalgia of going there on the weekends, but they seem to forget about Movie Warehouse and even the smaller mom and pop video stores. To me, THOSE are the 80’s/90’s nostalgia I long for. The little keytags you’d take to the front with the code number written in ink pen. Cardboard cutouts of different movie characters. The forbidden pornography zone.

BASEBALL SZN IS ALMOST HERE FOLKS.

Looks like Kanye had an interesting morning.
Thankfully he only tried to get Trump to free P. Diddly on Twitter. Had he used Truth Social, he might have been successful.

* I too am pleased with what we are seeing from Travis Perry from the perspective that he appears to have the ability to grow into a rotation contributor at some point later in his career. Withthatsaid, he's put in a terrible position and he can't possible do what he's asked to do right now (which is true for everyone else currently healthy, too). His defense is just awful -- which is to be expected from a 6 foot freshman.

No reason for him to be catching strays. Dude was the only player with a block against Ole Miss.

* I think the best of all bad options right now is to play Chandler as many minutes as you can as your backup point guard behind Jaxson with the instruction that he guards the 1 and plays where ever we can try to hide him on offense.

At current, we don't have enough healthy guys to put together 200 competent minutes of college basketball play, in my opinion. It might take some weird combos of guys to try to keep a competent offense on the court while not simultaneously getting murdered on defense unless we suddenly get healthy or guys start rising to the occasion.

* Having said all that, one thing this team has shown over the course of the year is that the individual games have very little correlation between each other. We can look awful one night and beat a top 10 team in some unexpected way the next.

The injuries make this harder to justify if you are looking for postseason wins this season but I've got outrageous Hope in Pope, even including the recent crummy play.

Jay play your best players the majority of the game.

Pope's system is predicated on nonstop action/movement with HARD cuts/screens, and just overall playing fast -- it's not the same as say, Cal, where the guys just stand around for most possessions while 1 guy does his thing. One expends a ton of energy, the other conserves it.

Furthermore, as Anth mentioned, the extra energy it takes for Jax, or any other non-PG, to bring the ball up vs the increasing pressure we're seeing as a result of no point guards is substantial. And it's every trip. I realize everyone wants him to just play our 5 best, together, 35+ minutes a game....but that's not gonna happen in this system & it's understandable why. In fact, Pope keeps saying he wants to get into the rotation *earlier* if anything & utilize fresh energy even more - so buckle up. 😬

Unfortunate circumstances, and those kinds of things...

*i do wish he'd stagger the subs a little more vs 2-3 at a time, but that's nitpicking. Subs/rotation aren't why we're losing, our 1st unit has been getting punked just the same -- it's all team-defense based, which ksta broke down beautifully. For example, Travis Perry has next-to-nothing to do with us giving up 100pts a game no matter who we play.

Maybe I put too much emphasis on the tip of the spear but I do think it's easier to guard the wing and paint positions when you know your 1 is going to prevent a lot of straight line ball driving. Have Butler also allows guys like Oweh to be ball hawks and fight in the passing lanes because they are allowed to gamble as a result of his good defense.

I'm not saying Butler makes us a top 10 defense but I'm also not saying his absence isn't the sole cause of our recent defensive woes.

I just want to be healthy, have a cleanly called game from the refs and see where the chips fall as a result. I like our chances of making a splash in that scenario.

Agree except for the plural "guys". It's Oweh and chopped liver. I think a big part of our problem is the defensive efforts of Robinson and Brea. Sure, they're behind the 8-ball right now with Butler out, but they've been underperforming defensively all year. Those two are long and athletic enough to stay in front of their man, harass 'em a little and contest shots. The rest of the roster has built-in excuses with regard to athleticism, length, and experience, but I think Robinson and Brea could step it up. IMHO, of course.

Georgia Amoore is one badass bitch, maybe she could give a few minutes? I understand the women's hoops hate, but damn, that girl (and team) is pretty damn is fun to watch. Her hoops bag is overflowing.

Shout out to the boy Kenny Brooks!
