There’s no doubt that while ratings matter, ESPN actively promotes certain teams over others.
That said, UNC/Duke is almost always the highest-rated game each week it is played. It’s not that much of a stretch for them to go to that game.
I think we our game gets better ratings this time, though.
And that is exactly why he pushed for Duke-UNC. Honestly, it would have been awkward. That guy wouldn’t just take it in stride, a la Digger Phelps. He would get mad.
100% chance Jay and Seth lobbied for the move to avoid getting blasted on live TV. I personally don't give a shit. Only drawback is for the folks watching who have to listen to Ravech and Dykes (truly awful).
