GYERO

Drive a Jeep Wrangler as a third vehicle. Two door, as four door Wranglers aren't real Wranglers. No ducks, waves or visible accessories. Top and doors off all summer though.

Sat in the same vicinity of Palumbo and "friends" at a high school basketball game recently. Moved after the first quarter even though we were in our seats first. One of the "friends" was worse than Toots believe it or not.

Reds getting Owen White (highly regarded prospect who’s struggled) from the Rangers and Gavin Lux from the Dodgers for essentially nothing is cool to me. At least my constant refreshing of Reds Twitter and Reds Trade Rumors finally paid off. I’m not sure the strategy of ANOTHER infielder, but I like that we are doing something.

The Lux trade is really intriguing. Good upside, versatile defensively, 2 years of team control, starting age-28 season. At worst, he’s just a solid utility man.

Sirota: the Dodgers drafted him in 2021 and he chose to go to college, graded out as a 2nd rounder by many, but we also never saw him play as a pro.

I really like this trade for both teams.

Hot take- the new floor in Stegman is dope. Wouldn't have been against a similar concept in Rupp.

- Walked around Stegman when my daughter toured UGA a few years back. It's not exactly "hallowed halls", so there was no security and we could walk around as we pleased. Not a *nice* building by any means, but it's still a cool vibe with the red/black when you walk down on the floor. Those colors and the lighting are reminiscent of Freedom Hall in a way. Still, the building is 60 years old and definitely doesn't scream "big-time basketball".

- Was pulling for Montana State last night. Visited Bozeman on vacation and you can tell how much that town loves MSU. But NDSU and SDSU dominate FCS the exact same way...they prioritize size/strength along the front lines, and everything flows from there. They usually have 1-2 actual playmakers, but they basically just line up and push you around for 60 minutes. That's what happened on that final drive, and there was nothing Montana State could do to stop them.

- HOW ARE THE ROADS

- Weird seeing the A's sign dudes to extensions. Doesn't feel right.

- Kenny Brooks is an ace.

-The Jeep / Duck trend is pretty obvious, right? The "demographic" on Jeep owners has shifted. Let's just say, they're stealing from Subaru sales.

-Good take on Sub-Groups, tho. I'm in a few of those on Facebook for my random ass hobbies and interest... you're pretty spot on. I like watching them argue.

-Weird ass storm. Very good call to get most of the snow off the drive before the sleet/ice came in. That snow mixture yesterday was closer to concrete. Roads are fine if you're slow.

-Power back on at the shop🙌. I don't know how you WFH-ers do it. My productivity in that environment is <50%.

-Skip Bayless is by far the easiest TV personality to identify as a sleezeball creeper. Just looks disgusting.

-Xmas lights on while the rest of the street was without power is a new generator flex.

-Game Day? Weird.

-So Facebook/IG are eliminating fact checkers and censors with community notes? Lol. Sounds familiar.

830 start means a cigar to keep this old guy awake. Still better than an 11am start on Saturday. Edit, already thinking ahead to Saturday.

Kudos to the one guy in neighborhood who snow blows everyone's driveway. Doing God's work.

Whitlock takes are hilarious but dude went off deep end a while ago.

I didn’t shovel until 10 PM last night. I don’t have a show shovel anymore so I had to use a square head shovel. I’ll tell you this: Snow before ice is a hell of a lot easier to shovel than ice before snow.

Much to my wife's chagrin, I found a great podcast called "How to Get a Girlfriend". It's a dating help podcast focused on helping guys meet and land women "by being their authentic selves and not using any shady pickup artist techniques."

It's taught by guys who flat out said they would go out 5-6 nights per week crafting how to pick up women with shady pickup artist techniques. And they then teach you said shady pickup techniques.

Bottom line: Mrs. Dougan better step up her housewife game because I'm armed and dangerous with moves with names like "the hand of God" and lines like "TGIF, which in your case stands for 'This Girl Is Fire"'.

I basically WFH every day now and I’m usually pretty productive but snow days are brutal. And I don’t really even have an office to escape to anymore. So I’ll just drive around “checking on jobs” just to get some peace and quiet. Been contemplating calling into ksr to argue with mags about something just to let off some steam but I’ll probably chicken out.

Amongst my friends, there's definitely a big differentiator between those who have rigid work schedules and those who do not.

Office, work from home, uniform, hours........doesn't make much of a difference to me. I think the #1 thing to me is flexibility. I don't mind at all working on weekends/nights/early mornings, etc. The tradeoff is that when it's beautiful and sunny outside and 2pm and I feel like sitting on a patio slamming beers, then so be it.

It’s easy for me bc we have both apartments in the 2 family house we rent. Kids really never leave Floor1. I work on Floor3. It’s great!

For the first month, I worked on Floor1 and it was a shit show.

My wife is stay at home mom and this house is beyond chaotic from 6am - 7:30pm. Today, she was gone from 7am to 12:30pm and I took care of kids while working (taking calls and zoom meetings). Easy as shit.

She got home and both kids were dressed (a rarity), brushed, had done a drawing (for mom of course 🙄), had a huge lunch, all dishes done, 3 loads of laundry done, and the kids sitting and watching a movie.
This is the post I’m referring to.

- UK -1 is a trap of traps and I’m taking it regardless.

It’s odd to have such a veteran team and thinking they can’t handle the road in the SEC. Add in that Pope is pretty good at in game adjustments and doesn’t ride the wrong guys.

- Wayne is a weird dude. Seriously flip his dating podcast to his wife listening to that stuff and I’d bet he’d like that, and that’s ignoring the fact it’s just a weird ass podcast to listen to even if he was single.

Norton Commons man, I tell ya!

- I’ve wanted a Jeep most of my driving life, but the duck crap is so weird. I don’t care what they say but it in my mind they get one every time they swap spouses. That gives me a laugh a few times a year at the gas station when the amount of ducks and the person doesn’t add up.

- Cutitloose, I don’t suggest that question buddy. In my personal experience just knowing you are “better” at her, um… job, is just better kept in your mind.

Speaking from a position of knowledge sir, but if you do ask please by all means share your experience for us to compare.

TIA

I'm not sure how I came across that Podcast. I told my wife about it because the last thing you want to do is have your wife glance at your phone and see that you've been listening to a podcast on how to pick up women. But secondly, I wanted to see if she thought any of this would work.

To my surprise she was like, "yeah, this is actually pretty solid". One of the ones she liked was this. You're at a bar and you see women dancing and having a great time. So let's say they're at an 8 out of 10 on the "having fun" scale. If you're going to approach them you better bring the energy where their level of fun goes to a 9 or 10 otherwise you're bringing nothing to the table.

- Kids off school today again even though roads are perfectly fine and we got like 4 inches up here, bunch of wimps these days

- Wayne if your spending free time listening to how to pick chicks up at bars just go ahead and fly to Vegas and go to a strip club and get the champagne room package and get it out of your system

- Sloot trying to get cut it loose to self ban? Girl has the memory of an elephant watch yourselves fellas

-I thought my cut back on alcohol NY resolution was awful and boring but man being at the gym today is hilarious. If half these people are still here in two weeks I’ll be shocked. Just wandering around aimlessly with giant headphones

-the SEC being so ridiculously amazing this year should be a real treat. My expectations were pretty low this year so it’s really just a pretty amazing stress free watch - which I desperately need less stress somewhere

-Daughters first ever bball practice yesterday at 7:45 PM start (🙄), sons Wednesday night. I’ve been asked to coach both. Passed for now, but feel like it’s all just getting started here

-GYERO dying a slowly death lately, let’s see if SEC play injects a little more enthusiasm or if life just keeps getting too busy

My 13yo watched the Florida game w me, and as we went on that 16-0 run he was going bananas and hooting and hollering, and he asked me “why aren’t you ever happy watching these games?” And I didn’t have a good answer other than “one day you’ll be miserable too, buddy”. Probably not that answer I should’ve given but he needs to know!

I'm far from miserable this season. Every win feels like icing on the cake. Losses are even somehow stress free. I noticed during the Florida game that I no longer dread the inevitable collapse at the end. Pope has me in a zen like trance. My relationship with UK basketball feels healthy for the first time since the Tubby days.

Tune may change by March, TBD.
