GYERO

Christ, last night we had two different deliveries from doordash. Pizza and CFA. Lol. White flag being waved.
I feel like I do okay, but I don't have "DoorDash money". On the other hand, my daughter got a job in the neighborhood and now she apparently does have "DoorDash money" because she gets it quite a bit. So maybe I'm just in the wrong line of work.

Highs in August so far have been 93, 87, 86, 90, 92, 92, 90, 88 with a decent amount of humidity. This weekend is perfection though, which again is what we want when we complain, not 20 degrees and dark.

I don't live in a old neighborhood so I have a Subway, Fazolis, Burger King, Pizza Hut, Papa Johns, Grimes, Taco Bell, Rally's, McDonalds, KFC, Mod Pizza, a Mexican Restaurant, and 3 Asian Restaurants less than a mile from my house so I've never seen the value in DoorDash.

Never done door dash. I’m usually a “I’ll go pick it up and have a beer while waiting” guy.
Yep. Hole in wall burger place has Miller High Life waiting for me. Won't even order until I get there.
Italian Place, have a cigar while I wait. Same for take out only pizza place.

3 weeks until UKFB. Let's go! Have had tickets since Couch first year and these last 10 have mostly been great, some disappointments, but that's sports. It beats leaving at halftime because you're getting curb stomped by Florida in your own home.

Wayne, you can show us all your modern stats you want but EDC is still no good. Give me Kurt Stillwell.

Ordering delivery thru apps: it’s the only business transaction that has terrible service, is completely overpriced, usually gets your order wrong, has terrible employees, and I can’t wait to pay for their service again.

Played a full 18 holes in basically a hurricane yesterday. Tried out new Taylor Made Stealth 2s. Not bad. Terrible vacation weather, still better than work.

Bike rides in gusting wind… no thanks.

Just prepared mise en place for 250 clams casino, half shells, pulled pork, lasagna, sausage and peppers… last night feast at the beach.

Mexican Dark Lagers, RR13 & Yak. Are a good flight to palookaville.

My dad stayed with us the past two nights and it took all the way to night two for him to start complaining about gender identity and Noah Lyles being too much of a show off, lying about having Covid, etc. All in all, a wildly successful visit.

In unrelated news, there’s a very good chance I’m just going to drive off a high bridge when I turn 75.

This thing still on?

- Summer always feels like it's here and gone in a blink. I'm sure part of it is that whole getting older and time speeding up phenomena, but also compared to 3+ months of overcast gloom and sheer darkness before you're home from work, the lack of dread and depression helps.

- No clue how BVG is going to play, but Stoops and Co. really need to focus on drafting and developing a QB for our system that's going to get multiple years of experience. Depending on a portaler to pick up a new offense each year is playing Russian Roulette with half the chambers loaded.

- Side hobby cover band has really taken off this summer. Gigs 2-4x a month, which is more than enough for weekend rockers with lives outside of music. Looking to play in Lexington but not familiar with establishments geared to that setup. Any recs would be appreciated!

- Picked up a starter espresso machine off Amazon and been on a red eye kick ever since. Beats the shit out of any pre-workout I used to take and keeps the trains running on time as well.

- Doesn't matter how mild of August we're having, it's a stone cold lock it'll be sweltering and humid for the Southern Miss game. Saving grace is its a night game, so less likely the faithful will melt into the bleachers.

- Had no clue Covid was still a thing? What a difference 4 years makes if a guy can medal in the Olympics with the vid rather than requiring Marcon locking down all of France and sending in the hazmat team.

- RIP h00ts. Where's Self gonna take the sycophant's journos now, Twin Peaks? Tilted Kilt? Fudpuckers? Surely there's a delightfully tacky establishment still standing in Lawrence.

As a close to 20 year lurker and now poster for the last several, not a lot in GYERO surprises me or genuinely makes me laugh anymore.

Tony’s parenthood randoms have me cackling out loud pretty much every time.
