Auburn turns into the 96 Bulls at home.

99-81 over Bama
Up 50-28 on SC at half

Sandwiched around a 15 point L at Florida (that wasn’t that close)

He almost blew a 15 point lead with 5:00 left in the 2012 National title game

Jfc. So we actually have no title since when?

Fml extra. Tubby almost blew every game.

Pitino almost blew it in 96? Did in 97.

Joe almost blew it too. Rascal

So we actually haven’t legitimately won a title in 50 years, or actually ever, if you really think about the worst possible outcome in any game

Sobering to consider for sure.

Ouch. Kentucky has zero titles if you really get into it.

Damn 😥. Fml

Ouch.
And if you think about it. Cal has never actually lost a game.

Good lord, it was a statement reinforcing the stall ball that he continuously runs. Thankfully he had killers that stepped up when they needed to

Right, thus why I pointed out they were up 15 with 5 mins left and needed a huge MKG block to thankfully finish it off. Same team they beat by 1,000 in November.

Here we go, the mid 2000s personal insults. Whew. Glad things are back to normal.

And won by 8. Natty that was never truly in question

96, our consensus GOAT team, won by 9, vs a much inferior (4 seed) Cuse. . Down to 5 under 2. Lucky win?

Make your “point” in a non natty year. 🤡. Literally 112+ years available.

F off with any revisionist BS griping for a
GODDAM NATIONAL CHAMPION TEAM

What kind of desperate pussy needs to reach *that* far?

Oh. Randall

Cal needs a cushion.

He's been working on expanding it since 2012

Sounds good. 2015 Wisconsin game. Karl Towns hit a jumper with 6:37 left to go up 60-56. Kentucky proceeded to score 4 points the remainder of the game (outscored 15-4) to lose 71-64.

Anyways, maybe we'll get a letdown Auburn game Saturday, since they just boat-raced the first place team in the SEC. Assuming playing a 6th place team may lead to a potential chance to spring an upset on an unsuspecting team.

^Their students are already camping out. That place will be a hornets nest.

Cal has been coaching over 30 years. He has won as many national titles as Tubby Smith. With an embarrassment of riches in the talent department the last 12-13 years.

I’m sick and tired of folks lowering their standards. They fear who Mitch will hire? Fire him too. Why is this so hard?

Final Four or bust.

Richie said it long ago. Get it done or GTFO.

Had no idea about Wisconsin.

Must have missed that one (which was already discussed, and you basically just copied my post on it)

But who cares. I’m more pissed about the blown leads in 96, & 12. BULLSHIT

Someone needs to answer for those imo. I see RED when I think about it

Cal sucks double turbo donkey dick & should be fired yesterday 💯💯💯

….so anything that happened previously before he did is erased from our history. We blew a 15 point lead & only won #8, by 8.

Dang

There are literally 500 cal games to bitch about and Randall chooses our national championship win 😭😭

That’s a miserable existence. I’m clearly in the minority, but that’s a great memory for me.

2014 vs UCONN. 5:04 left. Julius Randle hits a FT to get within 54-50. UK scores 4 points the remaining 5:00 to lose by 6
2015 vs Wisconsin (See above)
2016 vs Indiana. 8:08 left. Tyler Ulis makes layup to make it 50-50. UK outscored 23-17 vs Tom effing Crean to lose
2017 vs UNC (Higgins BS. Whatever)
2018 vs Kansas State. 4:01 left. Shai hits a layup to go up 55-54. UK scores 3 points the remaining 4:00 of the game.
2019 vs Auburn. No bad 2H trends. Just a shit game vs a team they beat twice earlier that year.
2022 vs St Peters. 4:13 left. Sahvir hits a layup to go up 68-62. Kentucky scores 3 points the remaining 4:13 in regulation. Loses in OT
2023 vs Kansas State. Lance Ware dunk with exactly 4 minutes left to go up 60-56. Proceed to get outscored 15-9 the last 4 minutes to somehow lose by 6.

I brought up 2012 in an earlier post. And 2011 loss to UCONN ESPN didn't have the quick little scoring map that updates with every score.

Sorry guys, it's amazing Cal's had the success he's had here considering the talent deficiency he's had. Can't do better.

Revolutionary stuff. Cal is mostly a choker bum

Appreciate the insight. Keep us updated, just leave off the Natty when leading such an otherwise easy (non) argument. You bjg ogre

They’re precious. First one you were old enough to even remember, so maybe Show a little respect to MKG, Darius, and the boys despite the “blown lead” or however your goofy ass chooses to remember it.

He actually went stall ball the entire second half against Auburn in 2019. Only scored 25 in second half.

This is actually the game that pisses me off the most. Beat em at their place. Smoked em at home. They were missing their only big if I remember. We put up 20 in first 10 min and only score 40 in the next 30.

Maybe it’s not stall ball per se but rather the incessant screaming and threat of benching that causes players butt to systematically pucker. Need a few Doron/Monk/Rob on each squad to launch at will and DGAF about the lunatic ranting from the sideline.

CIRCLE!!!??!?!! whatever, boss.

A lot of those examples chumps used weren’t really stall ball (you don’t go into stall ball up 2 points or down 4 or tied). But they do point out a consistent: pretty much every single game we’ve ever lost in the tournament with Cal was due specifically to a shitty offensive performance. This is the first ever year where we lose games scoring in the 80s (or hell the 70s even) that I can remember. I’ve never really seen us lose high scoring games likes this. So that either means that Cal is now even more shitty than ever imagined and is finding unique ways to suck ass or this could be one of those crazy years where we can click moderately on defense and make a run. Who knows, but at this point might as well hope for the latter.

Maybe my biggest issue with Cal over the years has been that he subs emotionally and without thought and it gets worse in the postseason. Someone pointed out yesterday that, whatever you thought about the platoon, it at least had some level of consistency, chemistry, and role definition.

We have tossed away large chunks of games in the past because you look up and we have gone on a 4 minute scoring drought because Cal has 3 guys in defenses don’t have to guard. Chemistry matters, roles matter, on offense and defense. It’s no wonder his only title team had 6.5 guys that really played.

Cal’s best UMass team only played 6 guys. Not sure how his rotations were at Memphis.

For what it’s worth, and maybe I’m wrong about this, but I think it is probably easier for a team to figure things out defensively versus offensively. As good as this team shoots, passes, and takes care of the ball, it still has a chance in my opinion.

Now that the charge has basically been eliminated from college basketball, nothing pisses me off more about the game than the last second shot. The success rate of the iso/hero ball/put up a shot as the clock expires shot is about .0001%. What I'll never understand about this -- if that play works so well, why does a coach never call that at any other point in the entire game/season/career? It's as if the coach says in the huddle "okay guys, I called a timeout so we could set something up that's completely different from any other play we'll ever run at any other point this year."

Just don't get it.

NBA = the same thing works like 95% of the time.

In that video of the 5 last second plays this season, the best looks we’ve gotten were “ill advised” 3s by Rob and Shep. Believe they were the only two shot attempts.
