The issue for moving on from Cal, is that there is no glaring obvious replacement.

I’m sorry but I think that is bullshit. If you were to give 90% of the coaches out there the resources and talent that are available here I think you would find that there are plenty of capable alternatives. Any somewhat young, hungry, ambitious coach that can draw up a play or make in game adjustments would so just fine so long as he isn’t a drunk.

So, it’s settled. Bruce Pearl it is. I’m sure Mitch is ready to sign him up.

I wanted Eric Spoelstra 4 years ago, pre-divorce contract extension.

Whatever, maybe we can pry Hubert away from the Heels.

- Similarly, I’m okay with Sheppard’s defense on the whole. He’s a gambler. He gets burned sometimes, but the marginal advantage you get from turning a defensive possession into a run out on the other end is probably worth giving up a few open looks. A good defensive system would optimize his chances for live ball turnovers while minimizing the risk - like maybe the weak side guard should cover his cutting man while he tries to steal an entry pass.
I disagree. He'd be better off playing more fundamentally sound defense. Steph Curry isn't the most athletic guy in the world; he stays in front of people. I'd argue Shep is being lazy when he does that. Probably got away with it all the time in high school

Oats is currently at 7M buyout and Pearl is at 8.5 but decreases to 7M next year.

So on top of Cal’s 40M we pay that too along with the new contract.

No sweat! Shouldn’t be an issue this offseason at all.

After we beat UT Saturday all of this will be for nothing.

Let me help you... here is one of Steph Curry's draft reports:

"Defensively, Curry puts a solid effort in, but is extremely limited by his poor physical tools on this end of the floor. He lacks great height, length or strength, and possesses below average lateral quickness, making him a potential defensive liability when being matched up with some of the more explosive guards the NBA is known for. He is a fairly tough kid, willing to stick his nose in and take a charge, and also seems to have a terrific knack for getting in the passing lanes (ranking amongst the top ball-thieves in the NCAA in steals), being extremely intelligent about following the scouting report. His lack of strength makes him susceptible to being posted up, though, and also makes it difficult for him to fight through screens. Although offensively it appears that he can play both guard spots, on the defensive end he would likely struggle badly guarding NBA shooting guards."

Hey Wayne.

Just edit your post and say Curry is an outstanding athlete, so UKO will disagree with you and say the opposite.

It’s like a Jedi mind trick.

Draft report? Are you serious? 15 yrs ago....JFC.

But you said he wasn't a good athlete....I guess his elite skill level is pure gd luck, right? Oh...he can do windmill dunks too, just for the hell of it.

Dumbassery at its finest.

Rewatching the Calipari 30for30:

- God I miss that guy.

- Scenes from that UK 1992 Sweet 16 game - remember losing my voice as we coughed up an 18-point lead. Thank God refs hate Cal.

- Speaking of, showed some behind the scenes of our 2016 loss at A&M on Humphries bullshit tech. That call legit cost us a seed line and an easier bracket.

- Camby going pro - funny revisiting the days where guys were apologizing for going pro after their sopping and junior seasons. Almost as bizarre as the booster shit.

- Lots of old 90s Sportscenter content. So good.

- The game was so much better back then.

I still think we're fine. I rather struggle now than in late February, early March. We have a lot to iron out and improve upon, but I've seen enough to give me hope that will happen. All losses suck, but they can make a team better if they're willing to learn from it. This is a good group of kids who are very coachable despite the recent struggles. Stick with 'em!
Only factual statement in this post.

Spoelstra?!?! Surely you jest. You think some jetset, Miami-living, city by the balls, best buds with GM Riley for a decade is going to leave all that to make the same amount while spending all his vacation days recruiting and re-recruiting players 😂 in touching Lexington, KY?

Yeah right, maybe we can hire him as coach and Brad Stevens as assistant coach while we’re at it.

I’d bet Spoelstra wouldn’t take the UK job for double the money.

- I mean, F Liam Coen. Maybe he’ll actually produce results with the Bucs 🤷🏻‍♂️

- Loving the new season of True Detective. Jodi Foster is outstanding.

- Also went back and rewatched Season 1. Even better the second time around. Woody and McConaghey are the best. And what a hat trick for Woody that season- Lili Simmons, Michelle Monaghan and Alexandra Daddario. 🔥🔥🔥

- If this team is worth a shit have any pride at all, they win Saturday. All there is to it. I’m sure we’ll start hearing 10 minutes to tip off about some random injuries keeping guys out again.

- BBN’s hunger for bigtime success is palpable. You don’t want us this hungry. We can be some nasty people.

- Been this way for years but I refuse to watch or listen to any interviews with coaches or players. Nobody says anything. It’s all guarded bullshit.

- Picked up a sixer of MadTree Thundersnow. Love me a seasonal crafty.

- 10-day looking good. Would like maybe one more decent pre-March snow but always welcome those early hints of spring. My dog has been staying outside in the backyard like 8 hours a day, just refusing to come in. He’s loving it. Also, maybe Anth will quit whining.

- Baby girl coming at the latest on Wednesday. God help me.

Stoops trying to go to A&M is not why Coen is leaving. Coen doesn't like the fact that Marrow can recruit whoever he wants. LC didn't want a couple of the HS recruits and transfers that are coming in, and he resents that as him not having full control of the offense. I was told the Ohio St RB was a big point of contention.

Just rehire Gran, run it 40 times a game, and occasionally hit on a powerful OL and go 7-5. Whatever. It’s over for Stoops here.

2 girls gets pretty gnarly when they are 4.5 and 2.5. Can’t even imagine when teenagers. Hope it’s a healthy day for y’all this wk.

Groundhog Day is easily one of my Top 10 favorite movies.

Most fans wanted Gran gone, and understandably so, but the issue since then has been a lack of "alignment" offensively. That word gets overused now in sports, but it's true...everyone has to be on the same page when it comes to recruiting, personnel, scheme, etc. And it hasn't been that way since Gran's been gone, and that's entirely on Stoops.

Honestly, if he could be a true fit with Stoops/Vince, I'd throw everything at Brian Hartline. Master recruiter, WR guru, and was just demoted after tOSU brought in Bill O'Brien to call plays.

I also love the OC at UNLV, Brennan Marion. It's a unique offense, but the numbers don't lie. And he's coached at Texas and Pitt as well. Someone's gonna hire the guy and immediately profit. Might as well be Kentucky.

Ate a gummie and watched Groundhog Day last night while my wife was passed out beside me in bed. Love that movie, much better than my Wednesday night 🤮

Congrats on the baby girl wcc, hope your little princess comes happy and healthy

Repsoda old fashioned:

-4 ozs (TWO JIGGERS) reposoda tequila (G4, Casamigos, casa noble are all great - don’t waste clase azul on it unless you’re a madman)

-chocolate and molasses bitters

-agave syrup (the key here)

-orange and maraschino cherries

-if you’re substituting an anejo here I would skip the chocolate bitters and add extra orange zest

Its that time folks, raise your heads, get your mind right, more sunlight is coming out, we made it through January, sing it loud and proud
