Edwards is a concern, and Cal starting him is a major concern. We gonna play several teams that we can’t afford to go down significantly until Shep and Dilly get in the game.
We are 16 games into the season and he is what he is. If he makes a 180 degree turn in his production after 16 games, he will be the first one that I remember ever doing that.

I understand where you are coming from but I haven’t seen one thing that makes me think he would be a stud here or anywhere next year. I wouldn’t be half surprised if he doesn’t come up with a mysterious injury at some point. I’m pulling for the kid but he just doesn’t have it.
Edwards is a mess, and it’s mostly mental. Cal was pretty aggressive pregame on his weak mindset. Objectively, he’s basically been awful this year.

I’m not mad at Cal for being cautious of COMPLETELY ruining the kid mid January, 3-4 games into SEC, but understand the starter concerns.
Perhaps he would thrive, like Dilly, to watch & spark? I’m for it. DJ/Reed/Reeves are my 1-3 starters as Coach. I’m certain most agree.
Flip is that Cal, who will *always* give his elite 5*/connects the long leash, isn’t being egregious at this point. Dude is averaging <20 mpg lately *without* Adou available, and dwindling fast.

So as a Cardinal man you’re basically even -Juice on the year if true homer style (covers & overs) Flat betting. If you went in on Miami or had 1-2 conservative feel hits the other way you’re even or slightly profitable. Worst case down 1-2 Hundo max, if, say, a $50 unit bettor. Not bad tbh, considering the Cardinals!

Sorry for the long post, but last night deserves it. Feel free to scroll past.
-Well, last night was a blast. Was this some Make-A-Wish thing that I haven’t been told about yet? Felt like it.
Ended up sitting directly next to our great family friends the DeWeeses. If you’re a Louisvillain you may know them or Dr. Bob DeWeese who was a state senator for decades. Mrs. D is the lady I visited in Louisville last week that was my passed Gma’s best friend. She’s like another GMA to me.
Anyway cool we sat next to them.
Plenty of food and bevs in the Champions Club for Mom and I. I ate two platefuls and some Mississippi mud pie because I have an eating disorder apparently. Really cool to see Bruiser come in and talk about the game plan before tip.
Couple across from us were loudly/quietly talking about all the free cookies and literally had at least ten they were shoving in their pockets and purses at both halftime and pregame as if they were from the Sudan and would never see food again. People…
Being able to hear Cal berate his subordinates in crystal clear HD was pretty hilarious. Dude doesn’t stop. Some players definitely tune him out during the game. Rob (I refuse to call him dilly) looked the most annoyed although did pay attention, just seemed like he was thinking shut up and let me cook. So much SGA in that dude.
And just hearing the players talking to the coaches/each other/opposing players was pretty cool. I can definitely see how people sitting that close could have a better feel for the team. You see facial expressions given to coaches and teammates that say a lot more than tv does.
Mom was Over-The-Touching-Moon with the whole thing. She’s wilder than me anymore, I’ve calmed down a lot since mid 30s (aka 2014-15 ❤️🩹).
She wanted to see the whole halftime show. We stayed for the whole postgame Cal radio time.
She thought he was just talking to us and not on the radio show and we happened to be there. 🤫 don’t tell her, I didn’t have the heart to as she thought we were in some special one-on-one chat with Cal that no one was else was privy to. 😆
Was so funny getting texts all game from close friends who knew I was there all the way to a few college buddies I haven’t talked to in a decade. Kept getting screenshots of my Mom and I with, “Are you in KY?” “Is this you and Mom?” “Damn, Mark, got some good seats tonight buddy.”
Couple of you rascals in the arena sent photos of a my circled pink hat, funny stuff.
Brady, I know you don’t do this for acknowledgment or praise but damn brother that was super cool. You made a 73 year old lady’s world last night as well as mine. The smile she had the whole time and bright eyes, she was like a kid. That was so special to me man, thank you. (Also, sorry I missed your call, I didn’t even see a missed call fro 1:20 til I was in the game).
That is a night my Mom (she’ll never stop taking about it to whomever will listen) and I will always hold dear.
Just her and I, watching our favorite team in the whole world from 10 feet away for a couple hours with not another concern in the universe for a short time.
Sorry to get sentimental (I’m blaming it on my heart), but you all are a really cool, smart collection of people on this random website of 1s & 2s flying through the air that I’m very happy I stumbled into two decades ago while burning time at the LCC computer lab one day. I started reading GYERO and thought to myself, these are my type of sports-loving assholes (especially back then).
If I can ever give back to anyone please ask or tell me!

-Cal goes to 2 big lineup, for like 2 minutes, and we gave up 5 (FIVE!!!) f*cking offensive rebounds in that 2 minute stretch. Lol.
-We're allowing WAY too many offensive rebounds. 25 to AM. 16 last night.
-Weird stat. Same exact score last night as last Tuesday vs Mizzou. 90-77
-Everyone excited for 7 days of 45 and pouring rain? I know Chad is.
-Speaking of Chad, mortal lock he was turning down those tickets yesterday. I'm not even sure the guy could find Lexington if he had to.
-Making some jalapeno cheddar sausages this weekend in with H to Izzo. 🤤Probably drink a small amount of brown water along the way.
-Trying to settle up with Krazy over the DH Armangac bottles. Appears Bonz, Clint, Hove, Rudd and Geese sent me money for 1 bottle each. Is that right? Send me a text if it's not.

On defense, I’m at the point of “just hold teams to 75”. That should be enough to win. A very simplistic view.
That’s pretty much my dream one day, sitting right on the court. Almost dropped the $1200 or whatever it was for tickets in 2014-15 when it was available but didn’t. Was right after Christmas. Super jealous. Love reading stories like that
I can buy that for the most part. We've only been held under 80 once. And I don't think "good defense" is enough (see Mississippi State). The opponent has to take possessions away and grind the game to a snail's pace. Just hard to do against this team.
With our pace, I've had to change my view on opponent ppg. The more complete metric here is points per possession. If we get ppp to 0.9 or lower, we'll cruise.
-The defense looked 10x improved last night once we stopped whatever tf we were doing to allow State's guys enough time to lace their shoes before lining up threes.
Cal said they changed up the PNR coverage; something definitely changed and State did not have the guards to hurt us once we stayed more disciplined.
-Ugo was great last night. He was rotating well, altering shots, grabbing boards. I'll take that as his role every day of the week.
-Those Reeves eurosteps. Shewee. That dude has about everything in his bag offensively. Just might be missing the clutch gene but hopefully he proves that wrong at some point.
-Not sure what else there is to say about Edwards. Has to suck for him being the clear weak link in this group, but unless he all the sudden flips a switch and gives you some of what Adou did, the writing is on the wall and he is gonna be freshman Wenyen with just token pity starts.

I’d love to hear the back and forth being that close. I’ve always been enthralled with that sort of stuff ever since I was a freshman sitting a few rows back of the bench and Pitino told me to “shut the eff up” as I was yelling at him to put “Moon” back in.

It’s really cool down there how you can see so much of the personalities of the players/assistants. We try to do 5-6 games down there rather than lower level season tickets. It’s just not worth it when we have so many Asshole U’s on the home slate.

I think our defense appearance of being ‘better’ falls when you see Hubbard bricking wide open looks. If that kid cooks like he normally does, we are talking about a much closer result.
Thierro will help controlling the boards. Need him back with a quickness… especially against UT/Auburn.
