I've had great experiences with the group outings, and had some that made me never want to see people again in my life. In the few times it happens with my friends- its been great... my wifes friends can be some of the most ridiculous. I dont at all mind just chopping the bill up equally, however many ways... things that have made me scratch my head are times, for instance, with a buddy who is a couple years sober joining us and her friends ordering multiple $150+ bottles of wine expecting him to chip in for that... or other ways to just be completely clueless and incosiderate. I've never once in our adult life gone out with 6-7 of just my buddies and there ever been any issue.

Apparently the new bathroom we had just finished less than a year ago- included some new water lines that werent properly insulated. The $3 pipe insulation just wasnt included in the $60k renovation. So now we are looking at no water to the house for who knows how long, with out of town guest supposed to arrive tomorrow morning.

Whats most frustrating with the Thiero injruy is he's the missing link in a lot of ways for us... a better defender than most, crashes glass... no offense to the european kid but I dont mind if he doesnt see the court. Give me back Adou.

Nate Oates pushing an opposing player- not surprised. Guy is perfect for the job here where people dont think rules or common sense/decency apply to their own. He'll end his career here with a handful of Sweet 16's and some good SEC runs.

-Overly large Group dinners suck in general, not sure how that can be argued. Feel like most bad experiences come with impromptu random groups that bulge into a shit show, wife's friends, work outings, etc. I typically avoid those at all costs.

But it's a lot different when it's your core 4-5 closest friend/couples in life & you're guaranteed a nice time w/ no bill or other shenanigans b/c everyone knows the drill. Also helps when your leader organizes the entire thing, typically with a somewhat private table or room, and all you have to do is show up and enjoy. JMO

Edit: Clark nailed it.

- you have to have people with the same “monetary values”. Either you go with a group that’s anal penny pinchers and want everything to be “fair” or people that don’t care that much and understand they possibly might be overcharged but consider it a fee for the entertainment and night out

-I’ve taken to having people over for “play dates” where they bring their kids over and they play while the parents all drink or dinner dates at our house sans kids. Has been great frankly.

-We have some solid hills in my backyard/front yard, would love to go sledding with the kids one of these days, but for how shitty the winter is up here there aren’t really much snows. Growing up in WV I used to sled all the time. Yet another reason Ohio sucks balls.

^yep. In our 20s, a college friend married a cheap ass. This couple would order desert offer a bite and try to split cost of desert... leave early pay for their meal/no tip. Happened a few times before they were voted out of the group. I haven't spoken to them since.

-more than 4 people(2 couples): total bill/number of people +20-30% tip. doesn't matter what you ordered. Simple.

^as a dude who doesn't drink im ok with it. On occasion someone recognizes this and slips me a 10 or 20 or whatever...the gesture means much more than the cash.

So, let me see if I understand this. You have people over, that bring the kids to play with yours, as you all sit around and drink and then those same people drive their kids home? Now that sounds like something I would have been down with back in the day.

-Hopefully they walk or golf cart.

-Well documented I love hosting and cooking for groups but nice to go out with the crew every few months. Probably the Italian in me that enjoys large group family style meals.

-(Un) or Fortunately the last second drunk hastily put together group dinners are all but done. The UK road trips are pretty limited. Especially with whole crew.

-Helps we both have the same group of friends and they're not cheapasses. Hell, we've had a several recent vacations where we just compile all the charges food/booze on one person then settle up at the end of the week. Especially helpful if you have a non-drinker. Saves all the confusion at the end of a drunk meal or if the place doesn't split tabs.

@bradyjames with a SOLID. Super kind and generous to offer that up. Pretty sure my Mom is 100x more excited than even I.

She’s never been lower level at Rupp and this is as close as it gets basically. She’s saying it’s checking off one of her bucket list events.

Very excited for her, she couldn’t wait to get home and change into UK apparel and earrings 😂.

We will definitely be in blue and don’t you worry I’ll have my pink hat on so you all can find me...

Anyway, again, thanks man. You made my Mom’s(most importantly) & my day. 😊

I will be in the lower arena tonight as well.
Keep that pink hat on so I can recon if I want to continue joking with you about restaurant water pricing and gym bros.

* Low key win for any day --> when a meeting cancels. It's incredible how often it comes at a time where you think "thank god, because I didn't want to go anyways."

* Speaking of which, I had a client ask about meeting this Friday. Unfortunately, my only availability was > 2pm.

me = "not sure how you feel about friday afternoon meetings."
him = "nope. let's do next week."

Glad he's honest. I mean, what kind of psychopath intentionally loads up their calendar on Friday afternoon?

* Lady of the house is spending the week in Leadville. Hanging with friends. A little emotional reset. Remote work. Enjoying the outdoors. Low was -10 this week, and the day she landed they got 3 feet of snow.

* Just totally hooked on this song right now. Gotta be about his marriage turmoil a few years back, then getting sober and reuniting with his wife.

He's just brilliant, man.

* Gregg Olsen is REALLY good.

If You Tell
Abandoned Prayers

Gotta be the best out there if you want to read true crime/Dateline type stories.

* It's past time to call Mark Stoops to the carpet. Shannon Dawson was a disaster, and left in a huff as the two of them didn't see eye to eye. Rich Scang was absolutely terrible all around. Just an abysmal hire. Liam Coen may be great, but this is looking like two straight exits for similar reasons -- not enough autonomy to run the offense.

I've always enjoyed pointing out that the "best" offensive coordinator he's ever had was Eddie Gran, who was a completely underwhelming, boring, non-innovative accountant looking dork. Just makes way too much sense that he and Stoops had such a great working relationship.

* Remember when our idiot head coach used to tell us Big Z just had a nasty cold? Buzzards luck?

SCH.

* Dude, what I’d give for a karaoke room night with the crew at Nagasaki right now.

* Post op, it looks like Lazy Tuesday is wiped from the internet now. Like Run Through, it exists only in our memories. Shame.

* Bounce Back Game.
