Yea I mean I think the retail is down, where isn't it?

I'd rather go to NYC anyway, but citing your cousin's SIL who's an intern with the FBI seemed beneath you as a poster and as a Father.

Oh well. Let's see what anth says.
Well, my best friend moved back to Louisville last year because the place is a crime ridden hell hole and he didn't feel safe raising his family there. But yeah, I'm sure your guys know better.

I have no clue which way my neighbors voted when I lived in downtown Denver last winter, but that place is AWFUL. Homeless/open air drug markets everywhere. People sleeping in filth and drugs all over the place. Every so often the city would send in a garbage truck and some dudes in hazmat suits and clean up. The gaggle of druggies would just move a few blocks over and start up a new encampment.

To me, this is what the opioid crisis looks like, and it doesn't care if you're R, D, or I.

Dude I went to HS with is a sergeant in the Chicago PD. Not sure there are many jobs I would want less than that. He works some of the rough neighborhoods too.

I live in the city that currently is #1 in the country in murder rate per capita, and here's what I know for certain....

1> don't go into bad neighborhoods
2> be aware of your surroundings (#ninjainthefort)

Literally, the most deadly city in America, and I feel relatively safe. Some of you need to get out more.

Well, Anth lives on a college campus.

No dog in this fight but the two biggest population influxes to Texas are Cali and Illinois, specifically Chicago. Most say it is taxes but crime played a part in their decision.

You're completely aloof to your surroundings and really just life in general. I mean, it's a running joke in the crew for... ever.

Ftr, I would visit Chicago and NYC.

-I've "gotten out" as much or more than anyone in this thread, pti.

^the you're scared/an unsophisticated rube if you don't choose to spend time/treasure in a certain place is played out and simple-minded.

-I love Chicago...she's going through a rough patch right now. I'll be back at some point I'm sure.

Haven’t been to Chicago or NYC in probably 7 years but they were both absolutely awesome the last time I visited either and would go in a heartbeat if I had an excuse to visit either, tbh. NYC in the holidays is pure magic, just a special time to go. Also, I would trust rudds recommendations/connections over just about anyone that posts here. A single pair of his jeans probably cost more than half my wardrobe.

Lol at taking a shot at New Orleans and thinking PTI wasn’t going to hit back. That dude is as New Orleans as Louie Armstrong, Peyton Manning or Juvenile. Marcus Welby called his wife a hoe.

Just going to sit back and watch defend his hometown now.

Even if Chicago was crime free and not governed by Mokey Fraggle, I would never visit in the winter.

It is awesome in the summer but I utterly hate it from October through April.

So Andy just legalized medical cannabis in Ky?

GYERO lawballs, how is this gonna work?
First glance looks like he has granted blanket pardons for anyone prosecuted for possession if they can prove certain conditions (bought legally, weight limits, doctor's certification for certain conditions, etc). So, nothing preventing someone from getting charged and hailed into court, but a defense to possibly having it dropped upon presentation of proof.

Chicago has more murders than Louisville, but Louisville has a higher murder rate. (2021 numbers)

Chicago - 29.6 murders per 100,000 people good for 13th in the country.

Louisville - 30.5 murders per 100,000 people good for 12th in the country.

St. Louis leads the way with a whopping 60.59 murders per 100,000 people. That is insane. What is wrong with people?

Wait, what? Please elaborate...

-summer 2018. Was doing service work with a group of adults/teens in Ouanaminthe. Government raised fuel prices...people rightly lost their shit. We were on the road in 2 separate busses when it started. Had to lay low at our contacts home (very well connected guy, thankfully). National Police escort( dudes w/ m16's loaded in the back of tacomas) through Cap Hatien to a secure "resort" to wait it out. Burning cars/tires...a bit unnerving. It worked out for us.

StL and the county aren't merged, which is why that place is actually desolate downtown the past 5 years. You can research why it's like that or we can just have PTI let us know as the resident expert.

-after talking to a friend who's BIL is in the FBI stationed in Chicago...we've canceled that trip and are headed to NYC in December. Rockefeller center gonna be dope.

^apparently a bunch of the shops on Mag mile are gone and it's just not as safe and fun anymore.
I was just in Chicago two weeks ago and it was fine. Didn’t take the L from the airport because multiple people warned me not to that live there. The next weekend my friend Lindsey went there and had a great time as well, took the L and said it was normal, so idk seems like the Chicagoans are more worried about it than others.

You know what's a real hellhole these days??

Went to Ross For Less. Anybody been to this nightmare?
I walked into Ross, I thought I walked into downtown Beirut.
I thought a bomb went off at this store.
