Tonight's game is only on some GD app. I hate cricket and hope he dies in a fire. I also hate whichever programming dork is behind this horeshit but much less than cricket whom, again, I hate and hope dies in a fire.
The app broadcast seems perfect...no commercials, Tom Leach instead of some jack wagon announcer, and dance ream during all time-outs

Broadcast is great. Seems like someone with more streaming knowledge than me could set this up on Twitch or Discord, streaming the video from ESPN app and audio from the radio broadcast.

That broadcast was such a breath of fresh air. No commercials, no Jimmy Dykes and his gay ass plane, no Marty Smith who is the worst person on television. Tom on the call. Plus UK dance girls, which is the main reason I go to games in person. I would pay thousands of dollars for the option to watch every game like that.

Also, I’m sure that Antonio Reeves has shown at least a few people a blade.

Is that going to be standard? If so, I'll be watching every game possible on the app.

Getting our announcers on the broadcast without commercials is certainly worth paying for. I can't imagine ESPN is going to let that happen for regular season games, however, but I could certainly get behind a trend of using the app nonsense for fans to enjoy a hyper-local experience in watching the games.

How much is Stoops paid a year to let stuff like this go on?

My favorite is Jones trying to pass off Auburn may be interested in Stoops. Lol, he got beat 63-3 the last time he played Alabama. They aren’t interested no matter how much you want to try and help those guys get a raise out of UK.

The whole game I kept wondering wtf was going on. A team that had just given up 24 points to UT f’n Martin looked like the 1985 Bears.

How much would you require in pay to do your job if it required millions of people to stare at you while you worked and criticize you, question you, insult you, and generally have your entire life under a microscope? I’ve sometimes wondered that and I’m not sure I have an answer honestly. Like PTI I always find these coach’s salaries crazy and ridiculous but then when I think about it I don’t think you could pay me to have these coaches lives. Then again I’m naturally very private so I’m probably not the best example. I’d probably need at least a minimum 10 million a year to even consider it.

And I freaking love CJ Fredrick.

You still miss me....

That's not a guilty pleasure....that's an admission you suck and your music choices rival that of a 12 year old.

Man, the Collins deal is so heartbreaking. 43 years old, sold business to move to Lex to be w/ Daimion, and was literally in Craft the night before rebounding for his son & best friend. Just awful. Kinda worried about that kid, no telling when he'll be back.

Game Shorts:

-Much improved effort. Dictated tempo from the start, played free, etc. Waxed a bum team from the beginning to end, like we should.

-CJ Frederick is just a helluva basketball player. Obviously our best shooter, but also probably:

-Best passer & setup man
-Best Position Defender
-Smartest/Most trusted

Love the idea of him inbounding the ball as well. Kid can just PLAY.

-Absolutely love Reeves. He's gonna be on some FUN heaters this year. Also will have some poor % stat lines, but that's fine. Far too often our shooters/scorers wait for the perfect shot, which in Cal's offense, never comes a large % of the time.

Gifted scorers get a nice chunk of their points from "forcing" things a tad, and it's something we've been begging so many guys to do. Not gonna be an issue w/ that dude, he's always looking to score. Nice handles and a lethal step-back. Having a dude who can get a decent-to-good shot at any time, and WANTS to, is something we've not had a lot of, especially of late.

-Ware continues to impress in his role. Poor guy couldn't finish on an 8 foot goal lol, but he understands how to play his particular role as well as anyone on the team.

-Nice to see Livingston show some burst and get some easy buckets for confidence.

-Wallace/Toppin both struggled to finish, but both were pretty gassed and still brought it.

-Onyenso is super intriguing. He's got some serious mitts, runs the floor, and flat gets after it. Raw would be an understatement for him, but Hard to see him not being *really* good, in time.

-Every time one of our players goes down i nearly throw up, and immediately assume/think the worst. Good grief, man. 😫 The word I'm looking for is escaping me as to what I am when it comes to injuries and UK Basketball, but I'm that.

Go Cats!

Rack about reeves. He’s gonna be what we wanted from Grady last year. If Toppin can continue to hit jump shots at a decent rate and handle the ball the way he is then I think we hav the best five in the country

toppin really is Cals wet dream at the three. Let’s just hope he fights the compulsions to bust all over our season. The kid is the perfect PF for this system (whatever it is)

-In 1997 at 15 years old, one of my best friends "loaned" me his Scotty Cameron putter that he had just won the Junior Falls City with, stating explicitly that he'd want it back eventually, but it was mine until then.

Life has kind of taken us down different paths as it tends to do, but we're still friends. I ran into him at the X/T game in September and he said he was finally getting back into golf and wanted it back. Just an absolute classic club, I've played with this putter *exclusively* for 25 years. It's really bummed me out to know our days were numbered ever since.

This morning he picked it up, and like that, it's over. Fare thee well, old pal. You'll be missed.

-If college football coaches *aren't* overpaid, then what would you consider the players to be? It's offensive how overdue it is for universities to pay for their own damn talent. This NIL stuff is such bullshit... outsourcing their responsibility to the fans while collecting the disgusting amounts of revenue from TV.

-I have no idea what our gameplan is but would hope we see a little more creativity on both sides of the ball tomorrow. What in the hell are we holding anything back for at this point?

I'd like to think we win, but not seeing it. It's going to be a miserable game. Mizzou wants it more and is at home.

Tigers 17
Cats 10

That's a really depressing post, all around.

Collecting on a Scotty 25 years later is a helluva story. I mean, back then, Cameron was fairly new and unique in mainstream amateur golf -- a pipe dream to own for most young golfers -- must have been a good buddy.

This is why I said a wk ago that revenue sharing is the future. Schools like UK and I assume a bunch others outside the big brands (Bama, Osu, Texas, etc) don’t have the fan/businesses to support a NIL payroll which I assume is in the $10’s of millions of dollars each year across all sports. NIL is doing exactly what saban said it would do, separate the have’s and have not’s even more.

These lower level schools (and I say that tongue in cheek as these schools all have 9 figure budgets) would be better off just pushing the tv rev sharing to equalize the schools or else they risk falling further behind.

I was listening to Bridge Over Troubled Water while I wrote it.

He was an all state golfer from a pretty wealthy family. I think the Falls City victory earned him a new one from the old man.

I think it’s only a matter of time before the Supreme Court starts to look at the mind boggling amount of money the schools/conferences are raking in on these tv deals off the sweat of these kids and forces them to distribute it amongst the athletes.

It’ll start with focusing on the billions the NCAA takes in off the NCAA Tourney deal while claiming to be a non profit that oversees amateur athletics and then it’ll trickle down to the conference tv deals.

*This team will be interesting. I remain concerned that having a PG like Wheeler and quite a few college 4’s that Cal likes to stick at the 3 spot is going to lead to some ugly offensive basketball. That being said, Wallace, Fredrick, and Reeves are additive players who have basketball IQ, can play multiple positions, and have at least respect if not gravity when they hit the floor. Those players make things easier for others, they can’t get enough minutes.

*He has gotten most of them right but Stoops made a bad hire. It has lead us to what is already an underachieving season - save winning out - given a few rare talents at key positions (offense and defense). This season now becomes important for big picture trajectory of the program. SC and Mizzou want to steal our fish and SC already did. This is a big game, a Levis legacy game imo (along with UL).

*25 years with a putter is adverse possession and it is lawfully yours, SAE. Pretty sure there is a KRS on point, no exception for Scotty’s.

He's coached a lot of football since those days, and Lord knows what our talent level was back then.

A recurring theme in the SEC is taking fired head coaches and making them coordinators. I think that experience is invaluable. I just like his resume and pedigree, I guess. Unless it's Liam Cohen, I'm good on the NFL guys for a bit. Give me a college football mind.

-Can’t remember if I posted it or not but she’s worth posting twice about either way, totally agree with @wcc31 that the T Swift album is great but not Folklore. Quarantined Taylor got into her feelings big time in Folklore.

-Posting from the steam room after a solid chest day, opened the gym myself this morning just because I got here about 4:45 and figured might as well. Wheat a feeling a nice steam or sauna gives you. 🤤

-After Chicago and long work hours this week I’m beat. Not entertaining invites to Breeders or the drive to Etown to hangout with my pal.

Will hangout with the folks and watch UK try their hand at the sports again.

-I have a Cameron collecting dust in the garage...15+ years old. If you make it to a schemgate, I'd consider letting you borrow it, sae.

-*true* pro style offenses are not feasible in CFB...gotta be simplified. If not...we'll we've seen what happens. The OC should have adjusted (Coen did)...he didn't and he should be let go.

-I think the cats handle mizzou as we have a lot more talent...hate to say it but the moment was too big for them last week. They were shook.
