Pretty good time to be an slightly above average basketball player graduating high school in the greater Louisville area.

Well, that's horrible news for Chris and co. Would have been one of the better bigs in the country next year.

They will be *hurting* down low.

Apparently he’s on the same path as Donovan and will be a 1st rounder and star, so it’s fine.

Not even sure why I work the last 2 days before a scheduled off few days. It’s a complete shit show to all of a sudden need everything people didn’t need before, or a rehash of everything that starts a week after I get back.

I really used to like Blind Melon.

It was nice to sit back and watch the most recent Star Wars last night with the family knowing damn well the NCAA championship game didn’t impact me at all, either way. What a relief!

I really fell off my exercise routine the past 2 weeks and did not gain a pound. Maintaining 265 with diet was good to find out today, but now back to it.

I wonder if the new AD and Coach at UL give a shit if the NBA ends up here. I sure hope not.

He's adjusting.

His quotes after the season about "never wanting to be this young again" reflected that.

Same reason he hasn't done one of those big press conferences in a few years where everybody announces they're leaving.

For as much as he talks about ending generational poverty, chasing dreams, etc., the guy wants to win more than anything else. You can't do that with a roster full of 18 year olds. Three straight years of missing the Final Four has him ornery.

This Knox stuff is Cal getting in front of the idea that Cal pushes guys to leave

That and Knox is a unique case:

No generational poverty
Young
Strong draft/Weak draft

And considering his age and position, he really could rise up the draft boards by getting a better body, and suring up his ballhandling, defense and J. Wing are at a premium.

He's also out taking lead role in recruiting. Going to be an interesting next week.

NBC isn't "reporting" shit. It's just Dauster guessing.

As always, there are so many moving parts with this Kentucky team’s roster and who will end up leaving school. Everyone from Kentucky is going to declare, and at this point, I’m going to set the over-under for the number of players that leave at four: Knox, Gilgeous-Alexander, Diallo and Vanderbilt. We’ll see how that all plays out, but regardless of what happens, I think the combination of incoming backcourt talent and the remaining front court veterans is going to be a fun combination for Kentucky fans to watch.

Also the UL Blogger's *LOVE* the new UL President hire. Had no idea that they followed the careers of senior education admins so closely but they sure do- and she was the right hire!!!

But still what? Haven't we been encouraging all the kids to do this for a while now? Haven't most of our players done this?

He was the first one to announce, Ron. There are at least 4 guys on the team projected higher than him and he's the first to announce. You think he'd be the first one to announce, Ron?

So he's not hiring an agent, and he'll probably return, but still.

Didn't think we'd be seeing an announcement from PJ Washington today.

According to comment section Kentucky fan they should all go cause they are all selfish and suck.

I was just honestly asking because I thought all our guys do this, wasn't sure if there was something I was missing. Everyone sure is wound up tight around here lately, yeesh. I think Vern was on to something, maybe if Kansas won we'd all be in better moods.

Any Kentucky player want to test the waters after their freshman year, I am fine with that, PJ may not be ready, but he's "earned" the right. But Diallo practicing with the team, never playing a minute, and still testing the waters? Total douche move, you just can't justify that to me.

According to Zipp, Jay Wright was the next coach at University 6 until Jurich was run off. [laughing]

Sorry Mayo, it's hearsay for you, but I'm one step closer... My guy spoke directly to Jurich and is highly credible in the U of L community. Jurich made the rounds when he packed up his Lake Forest residence.

Of course, Jurich could be lying. But why would I believe other anonymous people on the internet compared to someone with a stellar track record? Not to mention, it's known publicly that the Wrights and Juriches are friends. Tom at least had a line of communication with Jay whether or not it would bear fruit.

And neither you or I know otherwise. Imagine that possibility--Jurich and Wright--compared to where we are now with Tweedledum, Tweedledee, and the Family Tweedle...

Kevin Knox Sr. comes across as a really awesome dad in that article about his son possibly returning. Washington's dad has always seemed like a solid dude, too.

Selfishly I want both those guys back but I have no problem with kids who have great leadership around them who make smart decisions about their future. I also don't have a problem about guys like Eric Bledsoe who lived in a car in high school going pro at the earliest opportunity to provide for their family.

I mostly hate to see guys like Teague, Orton, or that idiot Doron go pro when there is no sure thing in the NBA and they don't seem to have anyone advising them well.

Vanderbilt and Diallo sort of give me that vibe this year, but that is only speculation.

Something very important gets frequently lost in translation during searches like this: these guys ALL know each other. It’s a small group.

So, saying AD X “reached out to” Coach Y means nothing.

There’s more than a fine line between “shot him a text to ask him about that lol national anthem during last nights game” and “please sign this formal contract offer to become our next head coach.”
