JFC it's great to read the UL forums from time-to-time.

- All the teams in the tourney are made up of paid pros
- Ridiculous that skanks that offered no competitive advantage cost us a title and Ayton is making 100k (How these GD imbeciles still don't understand why they were punished is [laughing].
- Who cares? The NCAA is a joke and no one cares anymore (my favorite)
- We will feel the effects of this for years and we have no recruits coming in (wait...that's true and awesome)

I think SGA is made for the league. All the switching now, the emphasis on versatility, the floor spacing.

He won’t get hand checked or be driving into a clogged lane because nobody is guarding Richallio.

I don’t know that he’s ever a star but he’s an immediate contributor who has a high floor...drafting him won’t get you in trouble.

Andrews irons her clothes in the nude. So that's an automatic +2.

Jill Arrington in her heyday tho...

StL Randos

-Not a bad setup actually really enjoyed it. The new Ballpark Village is cheesy but a great venue to host something like that. Basically like a mega sportsbook.

-Cats drank TR out of BL in StL. Which I find very impressive.

-Shared shots with an 80 year old bar tender lady. She was a beast. Straight Jager only for her.

-Nashville is almost too perfect, imo. It's turned into a shit show, this felt a bit more like the ATL setup to me. Tickets were easy to come by, bars were full of fans but not overflowing. Hotels were accessible. Plenty of places to eat.

-They need to get back to a rotation and I have no problem including STL. ATL, STL, Nash, NOLA, Lou, Tampa. Don't understand why that's such a hard deal to get. I actually think excessive Nashville SECTs have hurt the tourney crowd overall.

-Speaking of which, UK contingent was excellent. Per use.

-My hangover is not excellent. Weird how 2 year olds can see it and crush you. Oh well, nice to know we'll be home the next few weeks. Time to clean up the diet and boozing. Need the weather to cooperate.

-DJ Jefferies, great pickup and exactly why hiring Penny isn't the home run they want it to be. Let that dude go coach Middle Tn or something for a few years then you can hire him. I would've moved on Kermit. Tons of good coaches out there that can come in, establish consistency while you wait on Penny to get ready.

-UL :joy:
#1. Jurich is still puling strings up there. 100%. His son was in the paper this week and those billboards are all him. Releasing the players voted against the NIT was all him. Guaranteed anything negative being fed to the media is him. Until they put a stop to that they'll be screwed. You know he's goin to be working to submarine any coaching hire. I'm sure he has these delusions that if he gets the leaders out he'll be welcomed back with open arms.
#2. Trying to hire a coach before the FBI stuff is worked out is ballsy. You're going to have to give someone a long term deal to put up with whats coming. That uncertainty has to be a major red flag.
#3. Think the fans are about despondent. At some point you'd think they realize why they're in this position

-Be a good time for ESPN to release that tape. So come on guys, do us all a solid.

-Sign up for Team Bryant bracket and fill out 3. It will make your dick 30% bigger and stamina increase. Verified results confirmed and shit.

Jeffries recounted growing up a Memphis fan, watching and rooting for Calipari’s teams as they made their runs through the NCAA Tournament. He recalled watching the 2008 title game with his uncle — the one Memphis lost in overtime — as an 8-year-old kid.

“That kind of hurt me a little bit,” he said. “But I always told myself that I wanted to play for Coach Cal. So to be able to do that is a great feeling.”
When Calipari moved to Lexington a little more than a year later, Jeffries’ fandom moved north with him. “I’d been a Memphis fan, but I was more of a John Calipari fan,” he said.

UK fans might want to skip the next Memphis regional.

Michigan St. and Arizona are such trendy picks, that it's likely that neither makes it past the Sweet 16.

Has Clemson ever won a NCAA Tournament game? Serious question.

Loyola seems like they could do some damage as an 11. Miami?? Tennessee??

Get past Arizona and I like our chances. Of the 1s, seems like we match up with Virginia pretty well, as does Arizona. Virginia got kind of hosed on this one.

Avg. travel distance for the SEC schools from the pods to the potential Regionals is almost 1000 miles per school. It's half that for ACC schools. Shocker.

Nice update on some former Cal/UK players that have struggled to find their way after failing in the NBA....

Hate to say it (actually, that's a lie) --> but is it any surprise that a goon like Daniel Orton hates his life overseas, whereas a goofy white boy like Wiltjer is loving life and embracing his career in Greece?

If these schools like Kentucky really wanted to take their La Familia role to the next level, it would be to work tirelessly with players like the ones reported about in this article to set them up for overseas success. Such a shame to see guys like this chase a delusional NBA dream with some Diet Gatorade League team making minimum wage when they could be earning a lot more and developing a long, success career in Europe somewhere.

You can't help someone who thinks they are better than they really are. Those kids stuck in the G League are chasing the NBA dream. It's not only about money. They simply want to play in the NBA. And playing in Europe would admit defeat, and giving up on the NBA dream. For kids like Harrison, Teague, Goodwin, etc...they're not going to do that.

It's not a sure thing for Topgolf at the Oxmoor location. Last night's neighborhood meeting was pretty heated. It's location next to Oxmoor Woods and Hurstbourne doesn't help matters. Definitely going to be a knock down drag out battle.

Let's Dance!!! Randos

-Vegas was awesome, per usual. Venetian was the spot this time, and it was pretty much perfect for a lassie trip. The standard suites are huge & beautiful - and the location isn't nearly as congested as some of the mid-strip properties...wife (finally!) worshipped all around, which is always a plus for me.

-Went bonkers on sports action, hitting my first 13 games. Ended up 25-6 on sports, w/ several double dips between my account + tickets, just shy of +$1000. Venetian Sportsbook was my spot -- saddled up to the Video Poker bar each morning at 9am and got going -- always a seat w/ a view of the entire book.

Was left to my own devices for most of the trip. Basically meet up w/ the lassie for lunch, dinner, and a few small gambol sessions...setting her up w/ spa day, daybed, etc was a vet move.

-TopGolf was awesome, but man that is NO cheap date (or family night), good grief. Our tab for just my wife & I was a smooth $240 for 90 minutes, with no food. I mean, we were crushing booze, but damn. :eyes:

-Snackdown: In & Out, Halal Guys, Bouchon, Lavo, YardBird, Bavettes (really cool vibe, great steak), Pizza Rock.

-Saturday ended up being the most fun, as we headed downtown to Fremont early afternoon. Wife finally caught the gambol bug, and we killed the $10 BlackJack table at Binions & The D...walked out of there +$400, and she was hooked.

I love it down there, the gambling is so much better. Really a shame the strip has gone to almost exclusively 6:5 BJ (unless you're playing $50-$100 per hand)...that's just a terrible game, and everyone should refuse to play it -- not to mention the other wack rules the strip slides in.

As far as the crowds, it was just 'normal' - much less crowded than your average football weekend, which is pretty much perfect for a casual gambler such as myself. Games all/air, no reserved seating required, etc. Will do again (probably next year).

-Our friends Stu & Stella Jamison were able to bring back a few goodies from the Dispensary.

-Most underrated thing about SGA is how reliable he is. The dude essentially plays the entire game, and has basically all season. What a ball player.

-Was as happy for Wenyen as I have been any player in recent memory. What a guy.

-Need Quade to get back going.

-UNC's seeding & path to the Final 4 is the most maddening thing of all, imo. Just amazing to me that they're the 5th seed in this tournament. Other than USC getting hosed, I actually think they seeded the thing pretty well. For the first time EVER, there are no lower seeds favored in the 1st Rd.

Overall, it's whatever. 6 games and you're champion.

-loved u2 in my youth, discovered them in 7th grade-1983(old). Boy->unforgettable fire was fresh/revolutionaryJoshua tree is fantastic. Everything after that is bad...most recent activity is embarrassing.

-COUNTERPOINT: Their Super Bowl halftime show after 9/11. Outstanding. Otherwise, yes.

-The average amount of time between the moment I'm given an Amazon gift card and the time I actually spend it: About two hours. Burns a hole in my pocket.

-Chris Jans can coach. I have the (other)Aggies making some some noise.

-That Jill weather lady at WLEX has a really hard time saying her name during her radio updates. She somehow adds an "n" to the beginning of the word "Jill". She's our Mindeee Peeeeterson, I suppose.

-Kroger Chicken Salad. FAT.

No one matches up with UVA "pretty well". There is a reason they haven't given up 70 points in a game all season. They control the game on both sides of the court. Sure, someone may catch them on an off shooting night, as it just takes one off game to go home, but even then, it is a grind for 40 minutes. Of all teams they may face, 5+ freshman definitely aren't beating them. #REALITY.

For guys that aren't sure-fire lottery picks, they should really consider reading...

“We were kids playing together, highly touted kids at one of the biggest basketball schools in the country with the best fan base,” Harrison says. “Do I miss it? Yeah, of course. I miss the whole team-oriented ‘Yourself is good but the team is more important’ thing. I just miss being a kid in general.”

“It was the best time of my life,” Orton says. “When you really look back, it’s like, damn. That was something really special there.”

Still, as good as Greece may be, it’s no Lexington. “It was the best two years of my life,” says Wiltjer, who spent two years at UK before transferring to Gonzaga.

You don't have to be in such a rush. You're not a failure if you aren't one and done. Some guys actually do benefit from getting better over a few years in college.

Louisville almost beat...should've beaten... them and they are pretty awful. So I guess there is some hope.

While this is probably the right thing to do, it would provide zero value to UK. All these guys we recruit think they are going to be lottery picks. Selling the old “and by the way, if you flame out we’ll get you hooked up for a club in Istanbul for $150K per year” isn’t going to move the needle at all, and perhaps would hurt our recruiting process.

I'm still not sold on them offensively. I like Bennett as a person but he's underachieved at this time of year as well. So, just because they ran your shit behind the shed a few times, doesn't mean we are going to fall to the same fate. You know how many times we've had to stare down some BS in the tournament since Cal's been here? This quote could end up in a signature or we could lose to Davidson. That's why I love GYERO and March.

Good luck convincing the family that their child shouldn't rush to the NBA and try to make money as quick as possible, especially when most of them didn't even go to college. That plays just a big if not bigger role in their decision process. I'm sure most of the kids love college but your parents/guardians whoever have a big role on your decision process when you're 18.

ImnuhJill Sweaduh

And she does it every single day. WS or Mags need to have a sit down with her and tell her to knock it off.

Odds those quotes from Orton, Wiltjer and Harrison end up on the walls of the Craft Center next to all those pictures of NBA All Stars?

COUNTERPOINT: Ending generational poverty.

I'm disappointed that Team No Sleep wasn't interviewed for that.

But yeah those are guys who should have stuck around longer maybe win some championships in the process.
