Same thing happened in one of the Bham city schools earlier this week. Guy brought a handgun to school, was showing it to people, and it discharged killing a 17 year old girl. It discharged a second time and someone else was shot (supposedly he shot himself in the leg).

School had metal detectors in place that weren't being used.

Not sure how many Olympians are packing at a high school in Birmingham, Clark.

Here's a truth I'm not sure most people want to believe. The overwhelming majority of schools have virtually no perimeter security and you can walk in through any random door and not be noticed for several minutes.

And, most of the schools all have the same excuses of why they won't do anything about it.

1. Money
2. Laziness

But Catlanta, we don't want to have to use cards. Why does it cost so much to secure that door? I don't want to have to walk around to the front when my classroom is right here in the back. We simply don't have the money for this (installs new 40 foot scoreboard at the football stadium).

It truly is one of the saddest and most enraging parts of my job to see nothing but indifference to other's safety, especially children.

At Russell County High School you have to go through a security checkpoint by car through the only non-gated entrance. Once you get to the school there's only one open entrance, unless you have a key, and that entrance leads straight to the office where you have to check in. And it's been that way since I was in school.

If f'n Russell County is capable of doing that in 2002 there's no excuse for other schools.

If you take a gun to school, you’re an idiot. Glad he just shot himself.

Blue got in to St Louis. I got food poisoning at Carmine’s last night. Definitely won’t be adding that one to 73’s list.

Ryan kissed a guy at the show today, and he was not amused.

Steve Francis in Players' Tribune

This could have been a book and I wouldn't have tired of it. I used to leave for school at 7:50, but on Mondays during that season I would insist on waiting until so I could see Steve Francis's dunk of the week on SportsCenter. Worship.

- Take the number 1 play on this list and compare it to Harden's push off cross over. If that happened today...mercy.

- That Houston court was dope AF, probably liked the earlier reversed fill area inside the 3. Only ruined by the color scheme and the wackiest unis this side of everything the Wizards had before the latest classic reboot

It's not just that Mitch won't stand up to Kentucky possibly getting screwed in its seeding.

It's that Mitch also won't stand up when someone invariably tosses out UNC as a two-seed. Think he's gonna chime in when all those bowtie-wearing honks start saying that UNC's bad losses really aren't that bad, and that their strong conference gives them as much right to be a 2 as anyone else in this topsy-turvy CBB season? False.

I like the guy, but he'll just sit there munching on peanut brittle while that whole thing goes down.
