“Participated in the mock selection committee once” sportswriter really likes to get that out there this time of year. I do appreciate the insight they share about the process, but how they slam the door completely on bad draws, mis-seeding, and overall F jobs doesn’t sit well. I’ve always considered it to be the NCAA’s lobotomy of the college basketball community.

-If you’ve got $100+ cash and can’t enjoy a decent-to-good strip club then I’ve got no time for you.
I always appreciate a solid sports-based take with a random pork-barrel take:

“I think this about sports. And this, and this, and this and this ...
... Also, strippers: A+”

Were the “likes” for both takes or just one? We may never know.

That entire room is probably 85% snacking, backslapping, glad-handing, and networking. I’d say very little actual thought goes into the job. And what little thought does go into it has to do with finances.

I mean we’ve all been on some sort of committee during our professional lives and that’s pretty much EXACTLY what happens.

Which is why the steady drumbeat of stuff like “UNC is a projected 2 seed” and “Oklahoma is a solid 9 seed” by ESPN has actual affects.

And which is why the SECT doesn’t mean crap and Vanderbilt better be chilling in Lexington in ice as we speak.

Honestly, 73 and SAE roll chad and Willy in a fight.

Honestly, I really would help 73 and SAE. Probably spray paint the word "SNARKY" on Chad's back as he was sprawled out on the ground bleeding.

* And honestly, you've already lost the fat man challenge, Boat. I am kicking ass. My wife was so impressed with week 1 that she signed us up for a bike/canoe/5k tri in June. As a team. Touch me.

* And honestly, a 5 day bach party in Vegas is so you, Boat. I'm working on getting out there for a day or 2 of it. Sounds fab.

* No sources, but I doubt Vando plays in St. Louis. PJ and Wenyen stay out of foul trouble and we will be OK. Maybe.

* UK over Tennessee in the SECT final IF Vando does play..

* Gal Gadot does it for me, man. I like that broad.

* OK weather, that is about enough. I'm ready for a little sunshine and 70s.

* Back to work, jabroni.

Kevin Stallings gonzo, per the guy who never lets us forget what month this is.

Pittsburgh lost their last 24 ACC games. They went 0-18 in the ACC this year, with 15 of the 18 losses by double digits.

$10 million buyout.

The AD who hired him had a foot out the door on his way to Oregon State when he did it.

I think UL is probably in either way- but assuming they go down today, all we need is...
ND to beat Duke (not likely)
Alabama to beat a favored A&M, and would likely need that game plus one more
OSU to beat Kansas (nope)
Marquette to beat Villanova (nope)

Whatever. Maybe there will be some magic in the air somewhere. Shit, though.

Just because it bears repeating, UNC has 9 losses, one of which was to Wofford at home, is seeded sixth in their own conference, which by the RPI that the selection committee uses is not even one of the 2 best conferences, and is being projected as a two seed in the NCAAtournament.

Oklahoma still being "IN" gives some credence to the "didn't watch any games during the last 4 weeks" urban legend. It also provides substance to the "hyped up superstar marketing for tv audiences" conspiracy theorists.

The NCAA, man.

Hiring this choad was one of the worst hires in the history of the sport.

Just to demonstrate how inept these Athletic Directors are, Stallings was about to be fired from Vandy when he was hired at Pitt. Pitt's first year AD hired a search firm that was founded and ran by Todd Turner, the AD who hired Stallings at Vandy.

Unbelievable how bad these guys can screw up the most important hire they will ever make.

COUNTERPOINT: FAKE CLASSES ARE OUTSIDE THE JURISDICTION IF THE NCAA SO THERE

They've had a better season than we have, but the idea that it's been a 4 seed lines better season is insane. UNC feels like a strong 4 seed to me.

ND should be in. Played tge majority of their season sans their All-American and you’re going to put Louisville or Oklahoma in over them? F that.

The 9th place team in a 10-team league wasn't even one of the last 4 in until they lost their 13th game of the season - a blowout - against the 8th place team in the league in a play-in game in their conference tournament?

There are bank robbers who have stolen less money over the years than Joe Lunardi.

Your (*edit: your >> you're) guide to March Madness:
  • There will be much consternation about "bubble" teams that should/should not make the field. Once the tournament begins, this will turn out to be a meaningless exercise because the "bubble" teams ended up on the "bubble" for a reason. They're not very good.
  • UK will probably be seeded 1-2 seed-line below where KenPom, the RPI, and any other objective measurement reflects they should be seeded. Redass will ensue.
  • At least 2-3 teams will be seeded above Kentucky despite KenPom, the RPI, and any other objective measurement demonstrating that they should not be seeded so high. More redass will ensue.
  • UK will be placed in a bracket full of under-seeded, very good teams on the 2-4 seed-lines. Additional redass will ensue.

Translation; Kentucky is a 6 seed with Michigan State as our 3.
