We appear to be the only high level basketball team in North America that places almost no premium on three point shooting as the game moves further and further in that direction. You just can't play extensive minutes in 2017 with only 1-2 players who can't hit an open three point shot. That's not how basketball works now.
Hawkins plays knowing he is in a support role. He looks for open shots, to set teammates up, and will pass if he doesn't have a play.
Fox especially thinks he has to be a scorer to be a star. The problem is that he's such a poor shooter that his scoring actually hurts us if he isn't getting to the foul line.
