Football needs to learn gd offseason, is what football needs to do.
Falling behind who/what?The reality today is that if you don't focus your kids time on 1 or 2 sports then they are falling behind. Unless they are exceptional.
Other kids that do dedicate their time to one sport. I hate it but see it every day down here.Falling behind who/what?
My FIL played both ways in high school
Was he a surly bartending ginger in Key West too?
Why are you seeing kids every day down there?Other kids that do dedicate their time to one sport. I hate it but see it every day down here.
FalseAnd for the record, I was trying to do the Christmas party when I lived downtown.

Beale changed her name after her recent divorce from Blue Equity CEO Jonathan Blue, but Beale isn’t her maiden name. She wanted to keep a short, simple B-name, so with the help of friends, she came up with Beale. She says it sounds like who she is.
Yep, but you were living in Hamburg when you hosted the WC Xmas party. I specifically remember not having any desire to drive out there.Yup, I used to throw lots of parties. Just steps away from your house.
Was re-watching the 30 For 30 Bo Knows and this whole thing has me wondering if we'll ever see a Bo or Deion again. Probably not which is sad because those guys playing two sports was amazing. Also cements their(especially Bo) legacy though as some of the greatest athletes ever. The reality today is that if you don't focus your kids time on 1 or 2 sports then they are falling behind. Unless they are exceptional.
Or maybe he's pulling a well-thought out shenanigan. Will have to work this into my life in my 50s and on.My FIL played both ways in high school...but literally cannot recall what he was told five minutes before.
I don't have kids, but I would certainly understand parents not allowing football into the sports rotation.

The article's author really sums up the typical Louisvillian of today:Can't wait to read this uplifting yet dare-I-say hip online 'zine. Call her Blue, call her Beale- this bitch has got it going on! Germantown office- hells yeah!
I'll take your word for it. Just seems like kids that play football these days have to do summer camps, spring camps, "optional"-but-not-really lifting in the off season.Football needs to learn offseason? Learn sports, I'll help you.
***Soccer is a spring sport in middle school. 7th and 8th grade players play freshman and JV soccer in the fall, then middle school in the spring, then travel in the summer. Add in indoor soccer in the winter and you find the off-season.
***Baseball is the same thing. Middle school in the fall. Play up in the spring. Travel all summer.
***Basketball does not stop. Ever. Discussion over.
***This year football started on July 11. Contact restrictions push full contact to August 1. 9 practices before 1st and basically only scrimmage opportunity. 14 practices before first game. Season lasts until December 4 for some but most are done by November 5.
And don't fear two a days anymore. Teams get a one week window for two a days, but can't have consecutive two a day practices. The real kicker, the window is before full contact is allowed. Teams are in shoulder pads/helmets only.
As for off season, you might lift a couple days a week, unless you play a second sport. Since no team activity can involve a football outside of the fall season and the short spring practice window, seems like a lot of off-season to me.
***Don't forget about band. Those touchers practice more than college teams.
The article's author really sums up the typical Louisvillian of today:
"...She was born and raised in New England, but she's a Southerner by choice ... and co-host of the 'Louisville, Not Kentucky' podcast."
Wow. Typical Louisville BS. Wow. (Sad.)
