So the pilot deliberately crashed the plane in France. Second time in a year, after the Malaysian incident.
Scary stuff.

Hotels: got an email last night from the alumni association. Motorcoach up there, 4 nights at a hotel 14 miles from the arena, and no tickets $1500/person or $1200/person for couple...and that's without ticketsOriginally posted by PTI (pti):

Much more doable. Two questions....
- hotels = i know the ncaa has these things on complete lockdown. anyone have an extra room to unload? or a couch/rollaway to rent out? wcc, wanna start a couchsurfing.net profile and try to shack up with some weirdos?
- tickets = these were surprisingly easy to come by last year (although i admittedly hit a nice streak of luck). im assuming they'll be more difficult this year. closer/smaller venue.
Sorry, bud- sickest I've been in awhile. Haven't slept well, either.Originally posted by B Rax:
Chad hella crabby lately, imo
Check out tripadvisor. Their meta-search product is legit. Better than any one OTA. Lots of hotels about 15-20 miles away in the $200-300 range, and a Comfort Inn about 5 miles away for about $320.Originally posted by PTI (pti):
I looked on Travelocity. Typically with a big event, there *are* rooms available, they're just very pricey. I think the NCAA basically locked down the entire city, though. My search turned up.....
- the knights inn/super 8/extended stay/etc an hour away for $75
- some disgusting hostel/b&b type thing for $350
- everything else was sold out

This "woe is me" doctor character you've created for us is hilarious and I am just now catching on.Originally posted by catholic_back:
Slowest day in the OR all year. Normally would be rejoicing, but this sitting around is miserable.

How does a comment like that get past EVERYONE on the show.Originally posted by IsRichieGonnaStart:
Almost fell over laughing last night when Battier have his assessment last night saying..
"Well, it's a matter of one team's weakness versus another team's strengths. West Virginia loves to press and Kentucky doesn't perform well against the press and they are very turnover prone."
Good friggin grief. If you're going to make a bold assessment, do your homework. We thrive off the press and don't turn it over much at all. What team have you been watching?
Always enjoyed the snide condescending "Sounds great bud, put it on your podcast" blasts from BBdK back in the dayOriginally posted by CClarkUK:
Llama, GYERO already has a long running podcast accessible on radio networks.
Well, I'm sure they get paid well into 6 figures, but no where near the 7 figure paychecks that come from high D1 schools. Think Greenberg was making over a mil, and Buzz Williams getting $2.3m - at Virginia freaking Tech. Huge difference in pay.Originally posted by IsRichieGonnaStart:
Greenburg is fantastic. He obviously has very solid knowledge of the game & communicates his takes well. He also has the personality for tv.
If you're Greenburg why would you get back into coaching? Hey, I can do this, I'm good at it and get paid very well to travel the country to call games for the mothership and hang out with coaches & players.
