It wasn't 3 weeks ago you were text bombing me about how awful he is, "Most overrated Recruit of Cal era", etc.

I'd probably go.

1. Cousins
2. Towns
3. Anthony Davis

No one has been harder on him than ol' Geese.

*The more I watch Lyles the more I think it would benefit him to stay another year. His defensive footwork on the perimeter is shit and he doesn't have the shooting range a limited athletically NBA 3 should have. Work on your body, jump some rope, take some dance, get up 1000 deep triples a day. #profit

*Good to see a little redass last night on GYERO. No one can flip that switch quicker than wildcatchad. What a hoot.

- I love Andrew's quick-release 3. Last 5 games, dude is 8-18 from 3-point range with multiples in 3 of 5 games.

- Of course he could, but not going to happen. I'll be shocked if Lyles doesn't go Top 15. Plus, he's not an NBA SF anyway.

- Yeah, I was yelling, pacing, furiously texting and posting all game. Complete redass idiot. I'm betting BBdK was just as bad. I knew he was in bad shape when he posted his snarky "Ha- best team of all-times!!1!" post.

The new coach for IU will have some nice renovations to Assembly Hall when he arrives.

Game changing moment was the WCS putback on the missed free throw. Georgia players looked terrified from that point on.

Regarding Indiana, they desperately need to update their image. The wood paneling comment is not far off the mark. The commercial IU ran last night had background music that was 80's pop-rock like Toto (it was something like "hold the line") The candy stripes need to go, Assembly Hall needs to go. I just don't know how IU fan thinks there is any appeal for a young, urban athlete to play there. Blackmon is helluva player but he it doesn't help that he looks like IU basketball. I think in his spare time he plays in a Dixieland jazz trio or is inventing a 100 uses for a peanut.

Keep the goddam camera at half court ALL THE TIME. I dont want to feel like im laying on my stomach on the baseline trying to watch a game. And keep all the freaking stats and graphics off the screen while play is going on as well. Shit drives me NUTS.

This post just reminded me- I had a dream about you and me hanging out last night. We were drinking and picking up chicks on some shuttle-train taking us to the Reds game. WTF. Guess I miss you, buddy.

Indiana should obviously target Stevens/Marshall, but one guy they should check in with is Scott Drew. I always had him pegged as JUST a recruiter(and a shady one at that), but he's winning now without highly-regarded players. Give him the flagship school in a state full of great players, and he would have them back in the top 10 every season, IMO.

Tony Bennett keeps getting mentioned, but his sister coached at IU and it was a messy split, so most think he wouldn't consider the job.

How do your wives handle you guys during games? I'm not talking about the chicks like B$, Sloot, Tara, etc. who are all big fans themselves. I'm talking about the ones who aren't.

Do they look down upon you? Laugh at you? Get annoyed? Think you're insane?

My dad finished his UK den last year and now, EVERY game his four brothers and a couple of my cousins come over. I think it's pretty cool all these old guys are able to get together so often now, but I feel sorry for my poor mom. She's just never "gotten" it about sports. She's the most laid back person I know so it doesn't bother her, though.

I'll tell you what --> IU is ready to take off like a rocket, imo. TONS of in-state talent, a fanbase that has held up thru 20+ years of futility, a historic program....

....shew. Praying/puppies for Crean to pick up a big win this weekend, and maybe make a deep tourney run (like, win 1 game) to save his job. I think there are a ton of coaches out there who make sense and would be intrigued. A Marshall/Smart/Stevens hire and they're a powerhouse again, imo.

My wife leaves the room. Just goes upstairs and watches HGTV or Lifetime or whatever.

Works best for everyone involved, really.

My wife completely leaves me alone -- supports, understands, and "gets it". She closes the door to the bedroom with the dogs, and watches the games herself (which I appreciate)

In the beginning she wasn't very comfortable with it, told me it "scared" and "concerned" her. Probably didn't help that our first year living together was the Billy G year. I was pretty much a maniac, kinda embarrassing to think about really.
happy0014.r191677.gif

Now that she's met all my friends and experienced BBN all over, she realizes it's actually pretty normal.

Ms Ochs also helped my position, with her 'new' Richie story every time we hang out with them -- makes me seem pretty wodie in comparison.

Last night the lass told me I was "too loud" and "scaring her" with my outbursts during the game...as she was paying no attention to the game but shopping online for something "cute" to wear at the SEC tourney.

My show out during games was scaled way back when I launched her car keys and shattered a picture frame on the wall during the South Carolina loss last season.

Coffee table took a solid blow last night and was told to "calm down" and "we are fine".

Took everything I had not to go Bruno from Skeletons
mad.r191677.gif

Yeah, I've made a conscious effort to not throw/break things. Year 1 had the following

1.) Multiple remotes shattered
2.) Laptop completely crushed into 100 pieces
3.) Huge dent in the wall from throwing a coaster that I had to fill/paint/sand
4.) Broken lamp
5.) Broken picture frame when it fell off the wall after a stomping temper tantrum (was the final straw, actually got kicked out of the house for a night)

I've grown up a lot.
embarassed.r191677.gif

My wife doesn't care a bit until the tournament. She ignores me, goes to a different room, etc.

But during tournament time she is All Cats Everything. She gets in to it as much as I do.

I can see that but I'm going with the 3 by #5 to cut the lead to 6 as the biggest shot of the game. He misses that and they get it to double digits then it is game over IMO.

Wife takes the dog upstairs mainly because the TV is SO damn loud. I have to have the crowd sound to go along with the game. Just like with golf, I no longer throw clubs or stuff around the room. Obviously, it has been a process where you learn from doing real stupid shit during games through the years.

I've never witnessed Bruno rage in person before...except when BBdK shattered his remote into a million pieces when we played Vandy Tubby's last year.

Funny that you ask, Chad...

The lass has been putting together 80 plus hour weeks here of late and had to be up this morning at 5:00. She went to bed around 9:00 and asked politely that I keep it down in the basement. Been relatively speaking calm for the most part this season. For whatever reason though nothing gets my redass going more than SEC home team playing like the 96 Bulls against us in their first sellout all year.

10:30 or so after that UGA player hit the 3 from Savannah to put them up 7 she had heard enough. Guess my language was carrying itself up 2 flights of stairs. She came running all the way to the basement and said something along the lines that she can't sleep while hearing me scream about Ashley Judd being a self serving **** and how the gaffots in the UGA student section don't have clue about basketball.

Calmed down after that respecting that she needed good sleep and then we went on that 25-8 run. All is well.

Married Guy talking about his domestic life =
roll.r191677.gif

This needs its own podcast. Hosted by richie and SAE, of course.

-Who was making fun of the Montenegrins? I thought they were awesome. I respected Djurisic before all this because its cool seeing someone get way more out of their talent with motivation. However, seeing his parents, obviously as Joey said like many of our own family members, but from another part of the world seeing their kid play in a game like that and go off. I mean I wasn't cheering for them but that was super cool. I certainly wasn't mocking them.

-I can't stand the FT angles. WS flips out over them.

-Love how the Harrison's either air ball a 3 or drain it. Not much in between.

-F*ck IU and who they hire. If they hire.

You'd fit in perfect with your "common law" wife.

You know because you guys don't have those problems because you're not actually committed but you've lived together so long you're recognized as married.

Would seriously be incredible.

Surely there is something out there similar you podcast nerds could dig up?
Actually, I guarantee Chase and his weirdo reddit buddies probably have an entire thread/site/podcast/whatever tf they do over there devoted to it. Several memes, too (whatever those are).

laugh.r191677.gif

There aren't many things that creep this guy out ----> but reddit is one of them. What a weird place that is.

I picture Chase entering some secret room in his basement hidden behind a bookshelf or something, and logging on.

* If you're offended by people poking fun of Montenegro guy, sack up. Dude looks like every Russian Villain from every 80's movie ever. Mullet, ill-fitting sock tie, scowl, dead eyes and completely out of place. He's why twitter was invented.

* Do NOT want IU to hire Marshall. I love that guy, and he'd kill it there.

* Not that he'll stay, but no way Dakari should leave. If he does go, he'll be suiting up for the Schenectady Tadpoles in the D-League a year from now.

*Get with times, bud. Tons of good stuff on there if you aren't too stupid to find it.

*I don't have reddit buddies. That would be weird.

*My wife doesn't give two shits about the games, and generally leaves me in peace. She'll watch during the tournament, but that's about it. Now, my four year old on the other hand, she loves nothing more than to get right in my face, stand on my lap, climb on my back, get on my shoulders, poke the side of my face, sing and dance in front of the TV, etc... Lately though, my wife has gotten pretty good about keeping her out of the room.

Dislocated my pinky finger during the Iowa State game in 2012. Slapped the wall after a dumb turnover before we made our big push in the 2nd and they were still hanging around at that point. Was so livid.

Looked down and it's shooting out at almost a right angle. Almost fainted but managed to nonchalantly pop it back in and play it off to those of my friends that were there. Went and got some ice at the next TV timeout and more liquor.

It never set completely straight, FWIW and never went to the doctor either. Knuckle still has a swollen look to it and I can't straighten it out all the way.

Rack. When I discovered redditt I completely lost faith in our country. But, I get it. I understand why redditt is the way it is, and it's basically because parents didn't parent their children. Very weird place.

Anyone ever check out your home town's Topix board?

laugh.r191677.gif

Man, you wanna talk about losing faith in people. Place is incredible, and makes for a fun few minutes every now and then to 'catch up' on all the whores & losers from back home.

Check it out, it's pretty entertaining stuff.

I've glanced, and never really found anything on there. From my understanding, if you're from a small town.....EEK.

Pretty sure once you go to, say, the Lexington-sized threshhold, nobody gives a rip. But god forbid you're a Beaver Dam native --> ouch. There's probably multi-paged threads on there about Chase and his reddit addiction, for example. Phag.

I warned my wife before the game that last night was a night she may want to take the kids upstairs and play in their rooms until bedtime.

She came down and watched the last 10 minutes with me. I gave her THE LOOK after she made a snide comment about me complaining about the refs. She then shut up and picked up her iPad and did some shopping while I watched in peace.

She knows when to STFU and let me watch. I love her for that.

My wife is usually pretty good about being silent on the couch and knitting or whatever for the first 15 minutes or so while I sit on the floor with my face 2' away from the TV and throw a ball for my dog continuously.

But eventually, she'll zone out and pipe-up to remind me to do some dumb task before I go to bed with excruciating detail - during gameplay.

*9:40 left in the first half*

"Don't forget to put away the sloppy joe buns you got out before you come to bed. And put some water in the pan in the sink. That way it will be so much easier to clean since the Manwich detritus won't have time to dry if it were to be at least partially submerged in liquid substrate -"

"YOU KNOW YOU CAN'T TALK TO ME NOW!
YOU CAN TALK TO ME IN THREE HOURS."

Then she usually goes to bed.

(Also she is 7.5 months pregnant in this scenario.)

^ it's pretty brutal, man.

Actually feel bad for the people who just get clobbered on there by name. Those people don't hold back.

Is there any legal recourse for something like that?

Today's bracketology has our path as...

8: Ohio State
9: Xavier

4: Wichita
5: UNC

2: Wisconsin
3: Notre Dame

Still hoping to see a loss from Villanova or Duke, which would presumably move Wisconsin up to the 1 line.

Also, Indiana is now an 11. They lose to Michigan State Saturday, and are bounced early in the Big Ten Tournament, it could be curtains for them.

I've always been this way as well. It started as a superstition because we would always play like shit on possessions shown from those whack ass angles. Other things that piss me off are A) closeups of the player who just scored to the point that they miss live action 2) There is a controversial play and they immediately show a replay of something that happened 5 effing minutes ago.
