Re: GYER25-O

Andrew has been great.

Please try to pay attention and stay on topic.

Thx

-Meh...another Tuesday night in the SEC. I'll take it, Dennis nailed it.

These games make me sleepy. Good night.

Listening to Leach as usual. Love hearing the Go Big Blue chants periodically during the game. 26-0 y'all!

Re: GYER25-O

Pretty special to watch history like this. We were all witness to a record that could stand through many, many GYERO name changes.

Tyndall 's wife is hot, met her this summer. Guess that's what 2 mill a year gets you.

-Hostile crowd, crap whistle, poor 3pt shooting/decisions, foul trouble and yet another solid double digit win.

-LOLZ @ JHB earlier mad about his daycare shutting down. They might have been more worried about their employees than your children getting there bud. And last time I checked, when UK shut down for the ice storm they didn't reimburse me for any tuition.

-Cold front coming through tomorrow, so I feel you guys. Low is around 55° & 52° Thursday.

Seriously though, there will be people in parkas, ear muffs and scarves, flipping out on how cold it is.

@BBDK, it's silly because I live in the Florida Keys, oh and I have a girlfriend.

B/c like I said he sticks to dark suits. If you're really fat stay away from all light colors. Pretty simple. Neon jailsuit orange is pretty much the worst color he could pick. Vertical pinstrips is about as cray as you should get. Tyndall also is just a sloppy dude. It's not just his suit that looks awful. His head is tiny and flat on top, his neck is much wider than his head, his hair is a wreck, he has drooped shoulders and his legs are 28" long. Just a weird shaped dude. Not much you can do with that other than lap band.

-Don't care for the Harrison, Harrison, Booker lineup. I do care for the Harrison, Ulis, Harrison/Booker lineup.

-Lack of effort 20pt win.

-My game circled actually has been Arkansas the entire time. Still think we need it to get to that next level.

-This team has the ability to make a 14-0 run appear boring. They're fine just throwing body punches like a heavyweight until the teams inside just quit working, they're not opening themselves up with a hay maker. Really weird. I mean if 2010 or 12 went on a 14-0 run you have 4 sportscenter highlights. Tonight you have a put back, 4 ft's a few J's and maybe one dunk.

-I love the BBN. That GBB chant all night just oozes dick flop.

Between Butch and Donnie I am not sure another school in America has more tailor fitted head coaches in terms of stereotypes, both looks and name. Those two just ooze Tennessee.

Last night that dickhead Chris Bailey was giddily reporting that one of the models was predicting -32.
The all time record low for any day in any month in Lexington is -20. Good chance that is broken Friday am.

Interesting listening to Cal's comments. Said Aaron is the least of his worries, said he just needs to do more than shoot jumpers, said he'll be there when we need him.

On Andrew, though, as usual, for not being aggressive. And all over Towns.

Just interesting the guys he lets get by with things and the guys he is constantly on. That's not criticism. Just observation.

Well he's never going to be all over Anderw in front of the media but KAT responds to that stuff. He knows how to motivate certain players.

To be fair Towns game was also one of the worst games of any player all year. Fresh off his big write ups and "better than Okafor" talk.

I'd say he did get on Andrew publically. He didn't get after him bigtime but he definitely got on him. Aaron's the one who always gets a pass.

Loved Bookers reaction to that bogus out of bounds call. Looked right at the ref and cooly asked "what's the call? Out of bounds?" Then just nodded at dude like ' nah but

He will get on him a bit but he's really quick to praise him to the point I think it gets a little awkward. But you know how he's crazy protective.

I'd argue that was Bricker's best/most-impressive game (ignoring the career high), just proves what we've learned all year, that he's MUCH more than just some designated shooter.

Kid was ice-cold...well, not really, as most of his shots seemed to drop halfway down. So, instead he found some open spots, rebounded like a madman (7), put the ball on the floor & got to the line 6 times...

...yet still took the open shots, like any shooter should. Him having an 'off night' didn't affect him one bit, and actually seemed to turn the rest of his game on a little bit. That's the mark of a great player.

Yeah, that was awesome...as are his many other little subtle cocky reactions throughout any game.

Also love Willie's new smirk/scowl when he throws/dunks someone.

He's like:

Agree with BBdK on Bricker. Shot wasn't going down so he found other ways. Especially liked those 7 boards since our bigs played like shit. Veteran ballgame from the freshman.

Yep, that's big league stuff. Was firing 3's with confidence like he had just nailed 5 in a row. Need to guards to get those weakside boards though if Towns is going to try and block everything.

We rebound like we should have and hit 3's at our normal clip and we win by 30+. However, we give up boards and shoot like that a good team is going to clip us.

^ that's why I'm so nervous. That's life in the NCAAT - we may have won by 18, but we didn't play well, at least not well enough to be a good/hot team.

We have WAY many more of those types of games than I think many people want to admit.

I agree. Well to a point. I've said it for awhile though. We've had what 4 or 5 actual close games. Which has to be the least in the country. But everyone is judging us by this once in a lifetime great team and completely unbeatable. We're a helluva team but look how many historically great teams got beat over the years.

So yes, we're awesome, but we have to keep in mind we can win a title without being absolutely perfect all the time.

The cockiness could be a good thing but being like that at LSU down 6 actually worries me. You play with fire long enough it'll get ya. I'd just rather it happen in the regular season so they get a taste of it because I think once this team got a sense of that feeling it would never happen again.

Flipside, we're like a damn General Patton Tank infantry coming at teams. Slow, methodical, bruising, deep. See my post about making a 14-0 run look boring. I actually think that type of team is much less vulnerable in March.

- The margin of error with this team is so wide. Said it all year.

You have Towns with 2 quickies and practically giving us nothing all game, Aaron with a complete off night, some bizarre officiating, we get baited into shooting too many 3's with that 1-3-1 and don't have a good night from behind the arc and..... We still win by 18 on the road in conference.

- Good to see Ullis play like that again. Kid hasn't really gotten many shots off as of late. Like seeing him score when teams become so focused on the lob or the wings. That baseline floater was uncanny.

- Besides the Florida game Andrew has played really well the last few weeks. Cal wants him to think less and attack. Kid is playing with more confidence. That 3 to put us up 4 at the half was from deep. Also liked how he sniffed out the passing lane for the steal to get the breakaway dunk putting us up 8 in the 2nd half. He got all over Towns one time in the 2nd half for not grabbing it with 2 hands & letting a rebound go. Like that.

- Cauley Stein brought the energy in the last 20 minutes.

- We held UT to 17 in the 2nd half. Don't care who you are playing that's incredible.

It is awkward. he will dogcuss Towns up & down, call Marcus Pee a lazy sack of ish, but seemingly has to treat 5 with fluffy gloves. feels like we could have 4 other guys be lights out & go for 20 each, and the first words out of his mouth postgame will be "boy, Andrew sure was great".

can't complain about the results, if what it takes is him to be protected and cradled in order for us to slam a championship banner up then so be it. but what is this young man gonna do when he leaves the protective cocoon of Cal and plays professional basketball somewhere next season. not sure this act is doing 5 any favors for life after UK.

I love it when our little Prince talks about the military.

Patton was known for his strong emphasis on rapid and aggressive offensive action. Not slow and methodical.

I bet he would give great post game interviews though.

Cal handles his point guards a bit differently than the rest of the team. Same way a football coach treats his quarterback. I don't think you can go to the whip every damn practice/game with your floor captain. JMO.

I think it's probably a good thing that this team is playing a lot of "close" games. Sure, they're playing down to the level of their competition, and that's not good, but they are learning how to win games at the end. UNLV in 1991 blew everybody out and were unprepared when they faced a close game with Duke. This UK team won't have that problem.

I don't think Cal likes the way the media/fans seem to gang up on Andrew any time he screws up or has a shitty game.

BBN needs a whipping boy every year.

Cal is showing his players that he has their backs and keeping Andrew's confidence up at the same time.

I don't think he has any problem at all lighting into #5 in huddles or at practice, etc.

The protective gloves are just for the public eye.

That's exactly why. Andrew takes the brunt of media focus(Goodman). He won't ever see that because I don't think he's good enough to warrant those type of expectations in the league.

Andrew has gone from a potential lottery pick pre-freshman year, to most likely undrafted. The last thing Cal wants to do is publicly talk shit about his game because he knows that's the absolute last thing he needs for his draft stock. Players first, ATKOT.

Ok, war doctor.

I get that you can't see the analogy but I don't expect you too.

Did you know that General Patton had the backseat of his Jeep removed in order to install a hot tub?
