Grumpier old men

I went back through this entire thread and read every post. I reread mine to see what, if anything, I posted about the police being called. And to my surprise, I said nothing about that!! So let me say this. Sitting or standing is not the main issue here. The fact that someone called the police on someone standing is laughable. Just ridiculous!!!! Some people go to the extreme when tring to fix a problem. Couldn't they have just talked to each other about it, instead of going straight to calling the police? How does that make us look to the rest of the college basketball community? And threatening jail time? Unbelievable!!!! Jail time for cheering for a game!! The ones who called probably could have just stood for the exciting play. I have said on here that I can't stand because of my knees. That didn't mean I sit on my butt the whole time. I would do my best to stand and cheer for this amazing group of guys!! But this whole scenario is ridiculous. I just can't get over it!! Jail time...for standing and cheering for a great play? That goes way beyond the sitting vs standing issue. It's just STUPID, EMBARRASSING and RIDICULOUS.

Sorry if I rambled, but when something becomes so stupid, I can't seem to stop.😜🤪. And when I feel physically bad, I sometimes have trouble getting my point across. Thanks everyone.

When I lived in NC I had a buddy take me to a couple UNC - Duke games at the Smith Center. We sat in the lower arena, great seats. One year was M Doherty's losing record team. Both experiences, however, were the same.

At tip-off the crowd rose to its feet and roared as you would expect. We literally did not sit down again until halftime. This meant everyone, students, whine&cheese crowd, etc. Second half started, we got back up. UNC won both games, one in OT. I literally turned and picked up my coat when the games ended, having only used my seat both times at halftime and before the opening tip.

THAT was a great college environment. Mitch and the 101 guys have sold their souls to the old money in the lower arena. And our home court advantage with it. Kentucky's New Shame.

I bet less than 10% of this thread have season tickets.

The “ from my couch” crowd advising what Rupp and UK should do.

Is it really that big an issue? I personally sit in my seat during the game but look forward to jumping up and high fiving a great play or at a big moment. However, I have upper level seats so I wouldn’t enjoy people standing from tip to finish in front of me.

So the opinions of the few thousand ticket holders are worth more than the millions of fans who paid tuition, buy licensed merchandise, and watch on TV? Since the "from my couch" crowd contributes more to UK as a group I think that take is so bad your opinion is worth less than the rest of us.

I think so.

I'll bet it wasn't over an exciting play, and that the caller DID tell the person standing that they were blocking their view. And I bet the person blocking the view just doubled down on being an axx. That's the most likely scenario here.
