I finally watched the video in question and at no point did I think it suggested or even hinted at a UK commitment. Some people try too hard to read into this stuff.

He can get all the PT he wants at Texas. He'd have to fight hard as a skinny 3 who can play a little 4 at UK.

The reason Cal continued to pursue him was simply because it appeared Shaka was on the way out the door; it gave us [UK] a potential opportunity had that occurred--you don't want a severed relationship if you know you have a chance. Had they not made the tournament it is possible Texas would have fired him

Quite frankly, they have decent team coming back next year; this is Shaka's final chance. How they finish next year determines his future at that institution; but, for now, Greg Brown saved him his job ... at least this year.

And for those wondering ... Jalen Green is Memphis bound. 'The City' is sleeping well this week. Penny's future rest on this young man, as well.

Most of our fans are amazing, but a few of you guys are lost. Look at that lineup. Greg Brown is a beast, and him at the 3 creates big time mismatches. Texas is the favorite. But UK is a very close 2nd, make no mistake about it. Cal made a great impression on dad. Kentucky is firmly in this thing fellas. The last deciding factors are Nick Richards, and Haarms. We need one of them here next year. That will really help. EJ's decision does not play into it,

The G-League came in a couple days ago and made the right offer to Jalen and he took it; I hope you will also note in one of my earlier post where I said that if the money was right, then he [Jalen Green] would forgo Memphis for the professional route. Well, that happened a couple days later.

And why would Kuminga not get offered even more......and take it? I know he's not reclassed yet but its a certainty. Maybe that's what he's waiting on as well.

I’m not for certain. The professional route has always been an option for these kids, but the G-League finally became a real player this week. It seems they [G-League] were waiting on just one “big fish” to bite; Jalen finally did a couple days ago and that’s what has opened the door today—that’s what has now peaked the interest of other players.

Also, shameless plug here for our boy Travis Graf; CATS Illustrated is sleeping well with him on board. In my opinion, Memphis has always been the destination. Jalen's recruitment was always a sh*t show ... just like the way Penny runs his program; it always made sense. He [Jalen] will get what he wants and do what he wants; Penny will never stop him.

As hard as it may be to understand, sometimes these dudes just want to rock out and get there's; regardless of winning.

Now that I can't tell you right now. Like many have said for some time: if the money is there and the price is right ... they'll take it and make the jump overseas.

But, Memphis will get his verbal next week. Whether he actually lands on campus, I don't know, but it is very similar to the Jay Scrubb situation at Louisville that just occurred.

It just depends if promises are made...

As for Greg Brown: all of this started transpiring in the last couple days [after those original post]. It’s recruiting, things change; but, if someone threw half-a-million in my face ... I would seriously consider it, too.
