1. Davis block on UNC
1.a Sparks attempt 3 that ending up beating UL
If dramatic flair counts, the Sparks 3 to force OT against Michigan State in the Elite 8, which took 3 minutes of bouncing and rolling around the rim to go in.

I suppose that technically this is five plays. But DAY-UM! I was watching on TV and was going every bit as bonkers as the folks that were in the arena. Wish I had been there!
The reason I say Hatton's shot is because the end result was a National Title. Many great shots in our history but this one has to stand out just because of what happened later. Harrison's shots were also great but one of the most gratifying was when Macy beat LSU in 1980 at Baton Rouge on a last second shot.Thought about that one as well, there have been so many great and timely plays by the Cats over the years it is impossible to find one that is the greatest
You read my mind. Most unreal play I have ever seen in a UK game.
The Hatton shot is probably the best answer, but those three Arron Harrison 3's, were just unreal. I get chill bumps watching them.
Probably #1 with no debate, especially if UK caps it off with a title.Just think if Mr. DickSnot hadn't hit his miracle shot in 92, Sean Woods' bank shot would probably be in this thread.
Tough shot and well deserving of the best but think about making a 47 footer as time expires. Just to get it to the rim would be hard enough.Probably #1 with no debate, especially if UK caps it off with a title.
I think you might have been looking at Magloire.I remember this play very well. Is that Jason Parker beside the bench? Now I'm confused. I thought Heshimu was already gone when we got Parker?![]()
Can't believe that play isn't on YouTube....Vernon Hatton's 47 footer to force a second OT vs. Temple in 1957-58 has to be high on the list.
Hatton also hit the go ahead basket in the FF against Temple that same season, on the way to the Title.
It's somewhere as I recall seeing it years ago but I could not tell you where. Can't believe that play isn't on YouTube....
I vaguely remember Macy's pass but wouldn't mind seeing it again. What about Macy's pass to Givens against Arkansas in the NSFs that clinched the game.
MKG's block in the Finals against Kansas was pretty choice, also. Shit could've been even dicier had that not happened.
Nope, Vern Hatton's 47 foot shot trumps everything. Without that we're at 7 instead of 8.
I guess you missed the part where it said NCAA Final Four. It was in the tournament.Hatton's 47 foot shot came in a regular season game. It wasn't in the tournament. He also hit a layup with 16 seconds to beat Temple in the final four that year.

Yeah, I was. I had to watch it a few times to figure it out. I posted again and said it was Magloire and pointed out how dumb I felt when I finally figured it out.I think you might have been looking at Magloire.
I was there and will never forget that one.The Minniefield to Bowie lob from half court play has to be near the top.
Winner...James Lee had a dunk to finish off the dukies in '78 that was nice.
Great that it was also against Duke. Lee also had one against the Russians prior to the beginning of the season which he called "the Russian Dunk". The game wasn't televised but I saw clips of it later and it was off the charts.Winner...
But my greatest thrill was Lee's brutal dunk vs the Russian National team in Memorial Coliseum. Oh my gosh...
The Scott Padgett 3 pointer. Yeah, you know which one I'm talking about .
Vern Hatton's 47 footer at the buzzerYou read my mind. Most unreal play I have ever seen in a UK game.
Damn right!
Greatest sports high of my entire life.
I vaguely remember Macy's pass but wouldn't mind seeing it again.
Great, thanks! Here's a link to where you can watch the game itself, or FF towards the last couple of minutes to see the pass.

This is THE answer.Vernon Hatton's 47 footer to force a second OT vs. Temple in 1957-58 has to be high on the list.
You have to look at the end result. Had Harrison's threes resulted in a title then you would probably have a solid argument. The Mills and Padgett shots were huge, but I don't think either one of them were as big as Aaron Harrison's threes against Michigan and Wisconsin.
Took a lot of guts to make that move.Out of the box a bit, but Hall's move to start Cowan, Casey and Williams at the start of the 2nd half against FSU and sit Robey, Givens and Claytor.
