Not a clueThe Scott Padgett 3 pointer. Yeah, you know which one I'm talking about .
I remember this play very well. Is that Jason Parker beside the bench? Now I'm confused. I thought Heshimu was already gone when we got Parker? There are a few that stick out in my lifetime:
Brandon Knight vs Ohio State
Brassow tip-in vs Arizona
One of my all-time favorite plays was Heshimu's dunk against IU in Louisville.
Howd they score that Young "shot"?
Man, that's un****ingreal.
Damn right.Walls dunk against UNC has to be uo there. I wouldn't give it goat, because that should be during an important title game. But the Wall end to end dunk against unc was the end of our drought, and the beginning of the Cal era
Not sure if serious on your first statement. Agreed on Aaron, though. That tourney run was unbelievable.I don't even remember Wall's dunk.
What about Aaron's 3 vs UL, I mean vs Michigan, I mean vs Wisconsin.
I was at that game and that was the loudest i have ever heard Rupp ,when he dunked. Place just erupted.
My buddy went down to Lexington with a bunch of friends from school. They got a hotel room the night before that game. My buddy got a little too drunk and was still passed out and hungover and missed his chance to go to the game with everyone else. I still have the luxury of hearing him bitch about it from time to time.I suppose that technically this is five plays. But DAY-UM! I was watching on TV and was going every bit as bonkers as the folks that were in the arena. Wish I had been there!
3 points to the other team, IIRC.Howd they score that Young "shot"?
Nope, Vern Hatton's 47 foot shot trumps everything. Without that we're at 7 instead of 8.Aaron's 3s against Michigan and Wisconsin. Not even a question.
Probably the greatest shot in UK history. Mark Story had a column about the 25 biggest shots in UK history and this one had to be the best. Without it, we're stuck at 7 instead of 8 titles.Vernon Hatton's 47 footer to force a second OT vs. Temple in 1957-58 has to be high on the list.
Hatton also hit the go ahead basket in the FF against Temple that same season, on the way to the Title.
Thought about that one as well, there have been so many great and timely plays by the Cats over the years it is impossible to find one that is the greatestVernon Hatton's 47 footer to force a second OT vs. Temple in 1957-58 has to be high on the list.
Hatton also hit the go ahead basket in the FF against Temple that same season, on the way to the Title.
You don't even have it listed, but 1996 at LSU, hands down. After that, you have some great ones listed. Shew wee, I can't choose after that.Watching those highlights vs UNC in Dec-09 got me to thinking that the best half (of a game) would be an interesting discussion. Just off the top of my head it might be one of:
Mar-93 Sweet 16 game vs Wake Forest (1H, 60-26) game was over 10-min in
Feb-94 game vs LSU (2H, 67-47), came back from 30+ 2H deficit to win
Mar-98 Elite 8 game vs Duke (2H, 47-35) came back from 20+ 2H deficit to win E8 game
Nov-14 game vs Kansas (2H, 34-12) vs a top 5 team held them to 19% shooting for the entire game
Dec-14 game vs UCLA (1H, 41-7), no that is not a typo!
James Lee had a dunk to finish off the dukies in '78 that was nice.
2 points for the other team. My wife and I were in the stands that night. The place went bananas!Howd they score that Young "shot"?
