Gottlieb Thinks Arkansas is last Chance for a UK Road Win

Tennessee is our best chance for a road win actually. So typical Gotliebb talking out his azz.

Arkansas is probably our next best chance. We could lose them all, but I have to think we will get 2 or 3 of them.

6 SEC road games left, I say we go 2-4 to finish 3-6 on the SEC road. Hopefully we don't drop 1 at home and can finish 12-6 in the conference because that's probably what we'll need to not be on the bubble.

UT has 8 losses and Vandy has 7 and Florida is no powerhouse either with 6 Ls.
Ill give Gottdweeb the benefit of the doubt v aTm, KU and USC junior but Arky (8 losses), UT (8 losses), Vandy (7 losses) and UF (6 losses) are all very winnable gms for Kentucky.

Gottdweeb needs to put down the crack pipe and stop putting so much emphasis on one bad road loss in the SEC when AU shot like the Fing Warriors.

Everybody guard your credit cards.

Thankfully the SEC tournament is more like a Home Game for Kentucky. They'll walk to the final. Mark it down.

Kentucky is only losing these road games because the officials are doing everything they can to give these poor lowly teams a fighting chance, AND they seem to only care about beating Kentucky.

No road games in the SECT, no road games in the NCAAT. And we wonder why Cal/Kentucky does so well in both.

I don't really think anyone can make that call with any certainty, this team is so Jekyll/Hyde that we don't know if Auburn was the exception or the rule. Alabama is just as good or better than Auburn and we did ok there.

Front court match-up are such an unknown quantity for us,we never know what we are going to get from game to game.. All that being said any road win we get is a big deal, the schedule is tougher from here on in. We may not hold serve at home the rest of the year.

Get a coach that is not so predictable, can use multiple defenses, and has an offence.

Oh really? Who beats UK in Rupp this yr.?
Sorry but UK aint losing at Rupp.

I think we can go 3-3 and would be tickled with 4-2.

Florida or LSU are both possibilities. Only because we don't know how we will be playing by the time those games roll around. The sad things is Gottlied makes a very good argument about no more road wins this year. If that happens, this is going to be a very disappointing season.

We'll see,I hope you are right but your confidence could be a bit overreaching

Doc, no offense but you know as well as I do that our tougher gms are on the rd. And payback will be hell the last gm v LSU.
That and 111-4 gives me great confidence.

I am just a homer and internal optimist but I think 6-0 , next 5-1, next 4-2 , next 3-3, next 2-4, next 1-5 and finally 0-6. That should cover it pretty good.

You make a good argument with both points but it continues to be a game by game issue with this team as to what we get form who. If Murray and Ulis have a 3-19 night(or something akin to that)then we could lose to anybody anywhere. Mississippi St made us sweat the last 2 minutes of a game where we were up 20.

I am as big of a fan as ever but over the course of this season I have learned to go into each game with a near neutral expectation of a win or loss.

You are doing that wrong. It doesn't count when Vandy, UT, or Florida struggle. That would just be silly.

It only counts when UK struggles. So, yeah, we're definitely losing all those games.

The media accuses UK fans of being irrational and overreacting to every game, but they do it worse than BBN ever thought about doing it.

These SEC teams, coaches, and fans save everything they have for 1 home game a year against UK. Auburn was a horrible loss and I'm not discounting that, but the media also ignores that this has been going on forever and it went into hyper mode when Cal showed up with a busload of McDonald AAs. His 3 elite teams ('10, '12, '15) had enough talent and experience to usually overcome it, but teams like this year that are full of inexperience and lack tough minded guys are going to struggle against it. Pearl was crying after the game. He beat a 3 loss team in January that was ranked #14, they stormed the court and the coach cried. That doesn't happen anywhere else and it's a lethal combination to a team full of guys who haven't found their footing yet. '11 and '14 both had the same problem and one won the SEC tournament and won lost at the buzzer to a final four team. Once these programs can't spend 2 weeks game planning and getting hyped up to play 1 game they suddenly lose the ability to become supermen.

Auburn shot out of their ass for a full 40 minutes, our 3 big men did nothing, and they still needed a Murray corner three to rattle out or they lose. Some in the media are acting like Auburn won by 15 and is the 8th sub-150 RPI team to do so against UK.

yep, that's what I said Saturday. The UK we saw vs Auburn could well lose all 7. The UK we saw at Bama wouldn't. Problem is, everyone is assuming the UK we saw at Auburn is the "real" UK. Recency bias......

The UK we saw on Sat, also watched 12 3's go in. A team makes 12 3's, and they are either winning the game or are in a close one.

"Gottlieb Thinks"

Sorry....Quit reading after this.

But, seriously I think this team will come together, suck it up, and end up with at least a couple SEC road wins--UT, Arky, maybe UF. This team is better than they are getting credit for IMO. Just have yet to put together the smarts and toughness required against all SEC teams on the road. If they didn't know before Sat, every road game is a battle when you are UK. Had they had the right mentality, when they were up 12 against AU in 2nd half they would've put them down for the count. Hopefully, they will get there.
