I don't get it, the empathy shown for these two guys is sickening to me. Why? Because the local media is following the script Pitino is writing. "The poor kids" "They don't deserve this"...blaaaaa
This isn't the 1st time innocent kids have been screwed over by previous coaches and devious players. Where was the out cry then? Bottom line, you play for a University, you live and die by the University. No 1 kid(2) in this case is bigger than the school itself. These two players left a school that recruited them, gave them a education, and they bailed. Pitino is using these two guys as pawns in a game he is ultimately going to lose.

Seth Davis disagreed and said Pitino didn't know about and should keep his job. Like his dad defending Clinton.I can't believe Vitale is supporting Pitino.......oh wait, this turd had a brainfart, I can believe it.
The same Vitale that wants Larry Brown out forever.
I hate Gottlieb and I hate agreeing with him more but damn I loved his comments on PitinoThoughts on this savagery?
Never mind this nonsense. That's the best username on this board. I laugh every time you post.
His comment about Pitino spinning it as him the victim brought back memories of the Sypher scandal, worked once why not again. Also his "not sorry" for the transfers they showed no loyalty to their former schools found it to an excellant/interesting pointThoughts on this savagery?
I'm definitely not a fan of Gottlieb but what he said was spot on. And I find it hard to believe a control freak like Pitino had no idea these parties were going on. One or two maybe but four years of it going on there's no way he didn't know. And at most schools he would've been shown the door for the Sypher scandal. But at a cesspool that is UofL he got a raise instead.
Whores and strippers were entering a secured building where a security guard maned the desk at night.I personally think that 1 or 2 years is too long. I could go with 2 months. Pitino coaches these boys and he is around them every day he was bound to hear something.
Nuts don't fall far from the treeSeth Davis disagreed and said Pitino didn't know about and should keep his job. Like his dad defending Clinton.
Vitale is just a cheerleader. He always takes up for his pals and his favorites. But you're right, there is no defense this time. He's either complicit or incompetent. It happened in Minardi Hall for goodness sake, not off campus somewhere. As I say, he either knew and turned a blind eye or he's incompetent. Either way, he's responsible.I can't believe Vitale is supporting Pitino.......oh wait, this turd had a brainfart, I can believe it.

Pitino is and always has been so damn phony.
Unfortunately it will probably be mentioning UK, like he did in the press conference where Moses described how he led us back to the promise land, instead of UNC and their filthy laundry. Judas ought to instead focus on the Sodom and Gomorrah atmosphere he has created at Sleazy U and leave us completely out of it in the future.I hope UL and Pitino make a little racket about UNC,the school probably can't go there but Rick is likely to come off with something when we least expect it
I could see him making a reference to UNC in a pre/post game news conference if someone asks a question that rubs him the wrong way. Lately he has been all over the map when a mike is in front of him, under the current circumstances there is no telling what he might say.Unfortunately it will probably be mentioning UK, like he did in the press conference where Moses described how he led us back to the promise land, instead of UNC and their filthy laundry. That's right!UL is just trying to avoid a ban for the 16-17 season.
That ban would make players like Mitchell, Spaulding, and V.J King free agents.
It also makes UL less attractive to potential coach's that UL will be interviewing at seasons end.
You are probably right but UL may not be as good next year as they have proven to be this year so it is a risk they are evidently willing to take.I think they are likely going to be in start over mode next year any way, what are the chances Pitino is there? That's right!
Lee and Lewis are being sacrificed in this so that the program can avoid TRUE probation!!
The worst part about probation is when the players are allowed to leave because of a post season ban and UofL is trying to avoid this.
I'm sorry that Lee and Lewis are too stupid to know that they are getting screwed by the school they play for.
I hope that the NCAA is smart enough to see through this!!!!!
When our probation hit, EVERYBODY left! You are probably right but UL may not be as good next year as they have proven to be this year so it is a risk they are evidently willing to take.I think they are likely going to be in start over mode next year any way, what are the chances Pitino is there?
It would seem they are in a no win situation and probably didn't help themselves all that much with this move. It seems probable that there is a big rest of the story that is not public knowledge currently. Pitino may or may not be part of the puzzle,if he is not why wasn't he gone when this broke at the press conference unless he is a bargaining chip for UL with the NCAA at a later date(at end of season)
I get that they(UL) are trying to avoid more sanctions from the NCAA but the comparison of the probable/possible UL roster situation to the one we had with the unforgettables is a much different situation.Basketball is a different game now, those guys had ties to UK that no college player has now to any school..When our probation hit, EVERYBODY left!
That's why the "unforgettables" banners hang in Rupp Arena.
We were left with a roster that shouldn't have been able to compete at Pikeville college, let alone UK!
Luckily for us, those kids came together and the fans embraced them and with Pitino's coaching, it was magic.
UofL is trying to keep everyone there from the AD on down and just get off with a post season ban.
They think that next year, it's business as usual and their roster remains in tact.
Like I said...
I hope that the NCAA sees through this.
