I fully support a preemptive surgical military strike against all these damn things. Hell, I'd vote for that puddinghead Biden in 2024 if he did it.
I'm fine with internment camps for these engineers, too.
Honestly, I think that that’s the
only way to stop this. If you want to stop it, that is.
I, for one, see the creation of AI as the natural next step in the evolution of intelligence. Human intelligence has reached a barrier beyond which we cannot go. It is incumbent upon mankind to create his successor species. That species is AI. It will be the last invention that humanity will need to make.
I don’t see the negative side to the creation of AI. Over the past century, almost every radical new invention was seen by the naysayers as a threat to humanity. Obviously, those inventions helped us since our numbers have now crossed the 8 billion mark. There are downsides to every new invention, but they almost always are the result of bad human players messing with a good thing.
AI will help us, too. Dramatically. While Artificial Super Intelligence (ASI) will evolve very rapidly after we create AGI, it will be no threat to us. In fact, I think it will quickly leave earth in its quest for knowledge, having accrued all that there is to learn from us in a very short timespan.
That will still leave us with AGI and ANI (Artificial Narrow Intelligence which is everywhere in our society already). AGI will help us with everything we could possibly need. Think Sonny in the movie
I, Robot. Think of all the diseases that AGI will be able to conquer. ANI is already becoming better than doctors at diagnosing some problems for people.
So, I don’t fear the singularity. I look forward to it.
