Somehow kuchar coming back out on Monday by himself to finish when the tourney was already over is more exciting then this
Caddy gave Spaun a bad number on 17, 8 was way too much club (obviously).
Golf is a weird game, Part 1000: I was a walking scorer for Spaun in his first round at ISCO last summer, don't remember he played very well (I know he had a lost ball on 17 which resulted in a double bogey). Went on to finish T45 at Champions. Go figure.

Nope. He was interviewed after the round and they knew the distance and the wind was blowing same direction on range as it was on 17. He said he was hitting his "chip 8" the distance he needed to. He said he just flushed it pure and it got up higher than he wanted and rode the wind, but it was the club he wanted.
Spaun did the same thing Rory did this morning simulating that shot hitting into similar wind using Trackman. He followed his game plan but Rory just executed his shot better. Golf is hard.
Still needs the Masters to complete the career Grand Slam. Hasn't won a major since 2014 despite 21 top ten finishes since then.
One other quick thought re the TPC, Jesus, what a list of champions, maybe more impressive than any major, since they moved to the new course anyway;

Incredible video. Everything Augusta National does is first class. By far my favorite Major of the year.
A couple of "rules" I never can seem to remember from one season to the next and always have to relearn the hard way:
1. If your first shot is in trouble, make sure that your next shot is not in trouble;
2. Hero shots are for golf heroes (which you are most definitely NOT) - take your medicine, put it back in play, and accept a bogey or occasional par as your reward.
Violated both of those somewhat related rules several times in the last few rounds, and have the strokes to show for it. 😫

Go ahead and insert an emoticon of me beating a dead horse but here are the latest TV ratings for LIV vs. PGA:
"the average viewership of the final round of LIV Singapore drew in an average of 34,000 throughout play. This is a small number compared to their PGA Tour rivals, who raked in 3.6 million on NBC for the final round of The Players Championship." To be fair, LIV did draw a really big live crowd in Australia and a good TV number down under.
Maybe LIV will do better in US when it plays at better time zones, but damn, that is pitiful.
One other comment, seems to me some of the biggest beneficiaries of LIV have been the top players who stayed on the PGA Tour, e.g., Rory, Scheffler, Cantlay, Schauffele, et al. LIV forced the PGA to greatly up the purses, while at the same time, the loyalists don't have to compete with the handful of stellar players on LIV week in and week out as they used to do.

I watched a little bit of the Singapore event and I can see why LIV is struggling. Most of their talent are washed up or never has beens that nobody knows or cares about. Bryson and a few others are like Lebron James walking around there because the lack of star power is obvious. Players like Dustin was a massive get for them but he is aging and clearly is not invested in the quality of his game as he once was. The PGA has its issues but it's a much better product.
Justin Thomas took a tough loss yesterday to Victor Hovland, coughing up a late two shot lead. Hovland did birdie 16 and 17 with phenomenal iron shots. He is now the fifth Euro to win on the PGA tour this season, their Ryder Cup team is looking very formidable.
Hovland seemingly out of nowhere with a great victory. Its great to see him playing well.
Actually it was a 3 shot lead for a minute before Hovland made his short birdie putt. (-12 / -9)
Just returned from HHI for 3 day boys golf trip. Good for the soul. Stayed and played the PD courses.
Given the lack of cooperation with the weather, most had played one or two rounds.

Was a pretty good price point but keeps going up.
Courses are based on what you like but Stonehenge, Dorchester, Heatherhurst Brae and Druid Hills are a good start.
Lake Tansi is a nice course with really good people working it. Bear Trace is a nice layout but the condition changes from year to year - like a box of chocolates. A state course so it’s not quite as friendly imo.

What is it with some of these pros that they now have to carry a water bottle with them after every shot? Fowler started it several years ago and I noticed Rory going to it at the Masters. There are others too. Like a kid with their baby blanket. Worse things going on in the world obviously but this grates on me. They are not playing in the Sahara Desert for crying out loud. I’m done. Lol
Walking 7500 yds of hills in 75° temps and most aren't drinking just plain water. Throw in the stress factor and hydration is imperative.
I know Augusta is hilly but 75 isn’t hot and they are not carrying their bag. I will give Rory his this past week as he has a tendency to tighten up in big situations but I am just talking about it overall every week, getting the bottle out after every shot. No big deal. Just annoying to me.
If I had to make a list of things that annoy me about golf and golf tournaments that might be about number 1496.
Aim point on every putt is getting close to #1 for me, almost as annoying as batters who step out of the box to readjust their batting gloves after every pitch , even if they didn't swing
