Murray didn't shoot enough!
why? he has kept us in this game.
To rest him not because of his play you idiot.
Sorry didn't mean to quote you. Was directed at the OP.I don't think the OP is talking about giving him a rest "you idiot ".
This is a fallacy for every shot he hit he turn the ball over make stupid foul or defensive breakdown leading to points. Murray has the skills but he needs to sharpen the mental game big time
Cal needs to pull out the the cattle prod and every time Murray dribbles into a double team give him a slight correction until he figures it out. He and Skal just can't get it through their heads that in College they will take it from you if you stop and present the ball to the defense. This is not high school. Both can and will be very good but it's maddening to watch them make the same mistake over and over and over.
Oops actually require passing the ball. When Jamal drives into traffic he either loses he ball or throws up a wild shot. He is instant offense when he is playing within the offense (when we actually run something that looks like an offense) and coming off screens or using screens for jumpers.Cal just stated post game he has been yelling at Murray to drive the ball in traffic and said he is getting their. Guess he wants the D to foul him or open up a big for an oop.

You don't reward piss poor effort and Cal yanked him so he seems to believe the same. Murray can fill it up but he is a ball hog who doesn't look for anyone else even when he has 2 people on him when he is in "his zone".
What is laughable is how posters like to get so defensive when you call out an obvious issue. I do not have a problem with Murray shooting the ball because he is our best scorer. What I do have a problem with is Murray driving into 2-3 guys and chucking up a shot or turning it over due to dribbling too much when he has a man wide open on the wing. Cal allows Murray more freedom then anyone due to his ability to score, but there comes a time when you have to sit a young player down and say "Settle Down!" when they start playing how Murray was playing before that time out.Terrible thread. With all of our issues and the OP chooses Murray, at least Zaytoven the Murray Troll liked all the posts.
Our fanbase is laughable.

How in the heck does anyone know if Cal was sitting him to rest him before the timeout or if he sat him due to his 2 minute horrible stretch of play? Did anyone personally ask Cal? As soon as Murray made the boneheaded turnover and foul Cal yanked him. He did not have someone ready at the table...he pulled from the bench after Murray made the foul.
It is laughable how posters like yourself believe that every UK player and Coach is free from criticism. Check my record and you will see I have never been a fly by poster or one who only jumps on after a loss to pile it on. I give my opinion on play good or bad and some of you can't handle it. Just because a kid is our best scorer doesn't mean he is free from criticism or from sitting the bench...which IN MY OPINION is what Cal did last night whether some of you "basketball mind reading experts" want to believe it or not.
My apologies on the "like you" comment. After reading many posts in this thread I just ASSumed (lol) that you were in he same group of blind defenders. I don't think I jumped the gun considering it was late in the second half before I posted. Yes Murray is one of only two bright spots, but I cannot stand selfish play as a coach myself and absolutely cannot stand it watching a game that we pulled close enough at one point to have a chance to win. Murray is a great player, but anyone who watches the game can see his "flashes" of selfish play and to start that stuff when you have a chance just irks me. If not for him it would have been an even larger pounding, but he has to learn when to take over and when to let it come to him....and he will considering this is an 18/19 year old kid.I dont think you are flyby by any means.
And this comment "It is laughable how posters like yourself believe that every UK player and Coach is free from criticism." makes you look very silly when it comes to me. I have 100 posts in the last 24 hours, none of which are complimentary.
With all of our issues for you to come out and slam one of the 2 glimmering hopes this team has is a bit odd.
I dont care why Murray was taken out. You overreacted way too early on the wrong guy. We had tons of suck last night, Murray's few issues are not even on the radar with the awfulness we witnessed.
This is my exact take on Murray as well.I can't stand him either but there's no one else
