Well boys and girls our fearless leader Mr. Henderson has completed his stay with the Team USA Collegiate National Team this summer. Here is a link to the story regarding his time with the team: http://www.ukathletics.com/sports/m-basebl/spec-rel/072115aaa.html
Now, in reading the story it made me wonder just how Mr. Henderson's team ERA stacked up against the team ERAs from previous Collegiate National teams. Here is what I found:
2015: 3.54
2014: 1.58
2013: 1.87
2012: (Couldn't see this year because I didn't want to sign up for something).
2011: 1.73
2010: 1.22
2009: 2.16
2008: 0.88
2007: 1.93
2006: 1.24
2005: 2.25
In fact, the ERA under Henderson was the worst it has been for the collegiate team since 1999. Now, granted, I don't know how much of a role on the team Henderson actually had. I know he was the pitching coach, but I don't know if it was his decision when to make changes and what the pitching changes should be. That somewhat depends on the head coach, but if Henderson was making those decisions and changes then it certainly doesn't look that good that his staff had the worst ERA in 15 years, and was only one of two instances in the past 15 years where the team ERA went above 3.00.
Also, if I am not mistaken, this may have been one of the collegiate team's poorest showings in quite some time. I believe they only went 9-8.
