It's like UL last year. It's clear our staff does not trust Towles enough to put the ball in his hands. USC has figured that out and is just teeing off on the run. We are on the verge of taking a loss in a game that we should be up big because we don't trust our QB to make routine throws. USC has a former walk on in the game and they trust him more than we do Towles. Sad.
I know SC made adjustments on D at the half, but they are not this good on D. Our offensive playcalling and effort has been dog crap in the 2nd half.
why do you think dawson is calling so many run plays they just don't trust him to throw the ball
I think the problem is that now USC is pinning their ears back and coming after our running backs. They are stopping the run and that is making it hard on us to actually pass. Get behind the sticks and we are in trouble.
Finally dialed up a blitz that worked. Despite that, we need to get the QB on the first attempt and not let him get away several times.
Those 3 run calls on 2nd & long killed us. The D is going to give out if they have to keep staying on the field.
Stoops needs to quit micromanaging and let his OC call his plays. Brown caught a lot of flack last year for the play calling that Stoops handcuffed him to. He's doing the same thing to Dawson this year. Like Tubby. Gets a lead then wants to take the air out of the ball. Can't play that way in the SEC. Gotta go hard for four quarters. Stoops is the problem. Not any OC that has worked for him.
