Game Thread - KY Wes.

We were never going to be a good defensive team, we needed to outscore teams. He tried so much to fix the defense in ways that were never going to work he killed the offensive mojo we had. Try to win 100-95 and if you lose you lose, that was the hope that team had.
Of course that team could have been better at defense it just didn't work. Once again we scored the ball at a rate most couldn't keep up with. The problems came when teams reduced possessions a game had and bizarrely our 3 best shooters didn't get to play together.

If you can't see a change in the offense then that's on you. I realize Kentucky scored over a hundred in a lot of exhibition games under the previous regime but that was due to talent and not the offense being spread like this. I'll make a bet with you that this team averages more points than 8 out of 10 of the last teams
I agree, it’s the way we are scoring too. We are running plays and the difference is easy to see. It’s not just overpowering a team. This is a way to play that will work against better teams too.

I believe that this style of basketball will be exciting for recruits, press, run extra pass and shoot the 3.

Of course this team is going to be better offensively. But we don't have to lie to prove that point "60 points at halftime? Last season we’d have this many with about 5 minutes left in the game."

This team shoots it so well and this style is going to be much more fun to watch this year.

Butler was everything he was hyped up to be on defense. Oweh is very effective at getting to the rim and scoring and also very active on defense and rebounding. Makes sense why both started. Brea has been hitting some deep threes too. Carr hasn't gone off like in the BW game but still an obvious player. Robinson has been hitting his 3s.
Carr will get going, he is to skilled offensively not to. But like all the updates, the team seems to have a good feel of how to play off of one another early

Scored 56 against Western Missouri 2 years ago. Had several games in the low '80s against non division 1 opponents.

That makes me ask. How is our defense so far? Sounds like our offense is firing.
Generally it's been pretty good with definitely room to grow. We look seriously elite on offense if we get our technique down. On defense we look like we'll hold our own and frustrate opponents with blocks and changing looks. Our communication does look good especially for early.

Me just remembering Kerr is on the team...good night we are going to be a problem for some teams.

92 points a game last year lol. The defense would have gave up way more than the 20 something that we just gave up. We gave up at least 35 to every single opponent the last 20 games I know
