******Game Thread Colgate vs UK*******

Straight line drives for Colgate, wide open 3s for Colgate, bad rotations, bad shooting, no movement, Oweh looks lost, Robinson is inconsistent, Carr and brea good, Williams is meh, garrisson can’t pass.

Not gonna break 80 against a horrific program.

Inexcusable performance. I hope Pope doesn't window dress this one in the presser. There's nothing good about this performance.

Nothing.
This team came out ass dragging and didn't decide to give any real effort until they were down 3 or 5 which ever it was.

4th game where we needed Pope to pull some coaching wizardry and get us on a 2nd half run. Not good. I really get the sense that he's squeezing everything he can from this team, but they just aren't a very talented roster.

And I was wrong, we DO need Butler, and we really need someone else who can get a consistent bucket on their own, to go with catch-and-shoot Brea.

Still have hope, it's still early, but I am itching so bad to see what Pope can do with some real NBA-level recruits next year.

The thing I'm most disappointed in with this Kentucky team is how utterly lackadaisical they are at times.

Garbage passes easily picked off by trash teams, not dunking, not fighting for 50-50 balls, not going after rebounds, falling away versus fighting through contact, loose ball-handling in the paint...

I just don't know if that's stuff Pope can hammer out of these guys. The guys might just be what they are at this point in their careers.

That said, I'm happy with what will (hopefully) be a win. We're letting a shitty Colgate team creep back in right now, so who f-n knows?

On to an even crappier team Saturday. Hopefully we give a damn when we play them.

It's just frustrating that we can compete with the best and continue to play down to our opponents.

Anyway, go Cats!
Seems like we play up or down to the level of the competition.

No win THIS year is an embarrassment. Who do you guys think we are this year, the 96 Cats. We are a cobbled together team formed in about 2 weeks. These guys have never played together before and have KEY injuries. You guys need to get a grip
We are a team that should have buried Colgate by 30. This all about a lack of effort. They were standing around on defense and barely doing better on offense.

I am sure Gonzaga is wondering how the hell did they lose that game after watching this debacle. If this was Arkansas playing like this against a team with only 2 wins and their best player injured, we would be laughing uncontrollably. This was supposed to be a game that would give Perry and Noah lots of playing time because of the big lead we would have. NOT!!!
