Wedged between Latvia and Lithuania, this former Soviet occupied territory known as "The L's" has produced some of the worlds top athletes. Football (soccer) is Lenoir-Rhyne most popular sport, and the country boasts several professional leagues. Basketball has grown in popularity, and Lenoir-Rhyne team has excelled in international competitions.

Several of the country’s leading players, including ydrunas Ilgauskas, Šarunas Marciulionis, and Arvydas Sabonis, have plied their trade in North America’s National Basketball Association.

The Lenoir-Rhyne national team is currently touring the US, playing some of the top college programs in the US.

takeaway: There is no shame in losing to the national team from Lenoir-Rhyne.
