From AJ Storr to Chaz Lanier: First quarter grades for 2024's top 10 transfers

Butler A+
Brea A+
Oweh A+
Carr A
Robinson A
Williams B
Garrison B+
Kriisa B
Almonor B

Two of the transfers considered high-profile enough to grade are on an Indiana team that has been blown out by Louisville, Gonzaga and Nebraska, and that looks totally clueless, while a Kentucky team made up 100 percent of transfers have NONE considered high profile, yet have beaten Louisville, Gonzaga and Duke to be ranked Top Five.

Is writer Travis Branham just clueless, or has coaching, chemistry and the support of the Kentucky fan base turned guys not even considered worth making a list of top transfers into a Top Five team? Or both?

Butler A+
Brea A+
Oweh A+
Carr A
Robinson A
Williams B
Garrison B+
Kriisa B
Almonor B
I would have to disagree with your grades so far. I would go
A Butler, Brea, & Oweh
B+ Carr
B Williams
B- Robinson, Garrison, & Almonor
D Kriisa

Ouch!

Cade Tyson (No. 34), North Carolina Tar Heels (From: Belmont)

Grade: F

Man, oh man. Belmont's Cade Tyson came to North Carolina with a huge reputation, thanks to being one of the best shooters in the MVC. Last season, the 6-foot-7 forward drilled jumpers at a whopping 46.5% rate. But, this year, he has yet to find his stroke at UNC.

So far, he's shooting just 26.7% this season from three. However, the glaring issue has been his defense and keeping guys in front of him on the perimeter. As a result, he's playing just eight minutes a game and hasn't lived up to the hype he generated at Belmont. In mid-December he's barely in UNC's rotation.
