Malik Monk, De'Aaron Fox could team up in college
Some interesting info about the two and also interesting that the info comes from Giles.

yup he talks to Tatum very frequently...Any info on Giles courtesy of Giles?

Right - he specifically mentioned Wall and Bledsoe, and Oak Hill's coach said (regarding Giles)-“With all of our elite guards, people are going to try to play together and try to get to the NBA together.”
Fox said this right after talking about Kentucky's history of playing with 2 guards like Bledsoe and Wall
And he said with all OUR elite guards
I like it. Smith also hinted that Fox and Monk talk to each other, and may have hinted at Giles when he said Giles talks to Tatum. obviously not a shocker
I would say more "full" than "loaded."We also know that after the Kansas visit that is when Matt Scott, Kansas Expert switched to Kentucky in the Crystal Ball Prediction and Fox went to 100% to Kentucky! Also, if you look at Kansas Roster for the 2016-2017 season next year they will have back there top 5 or 6 guards including Mason III and Selden, Jr both due back for the 2016-2017 season. They also will have guards Graham, Mykhailiuk, Greene, and Freshman Vick. Kansas will still be loaded in 2016-2017 at the Guard position. Mason avg. 13 ppg last year and Selden avg. 10 ppg. Selden and Mason are not in the 2016 NBA Mock Draft in either 1st or 2nd rounds. They will both be back next year which means Kansas will be loaded at the Guard position next year.
I'm not scurred. We got this bruh.most people believe Kansas is the dark horse for Monk, if there is one to be had.
it always gets me.
That still ranks up there for me as one of the best-timed GIF placements I've ever seen.Man, when Kiimohawk dropped that gif I had a damn good laugh. Just perfect timing .
You predicting fox to UK like wiggins to UK? What's the sources saying?“With all of our elite guards, people are going to try to play together and try to get to the NBA together.”

And exactly none of those players are anything like fox.We also know that after the Kansas visit that is when Matt Scott, Kansas Expert switched to Kentucky in the Crystal Ball Prediction and Fox went to 100% to Kentucky! Selden and Mason are more likely to enter the draft than Ulis and Briscoe. Don't care where Briscoe is at on mock drafts now, once he plays, he'll fall out of the mocks. Also, Svi if he lives up to the hype has a chance to go too.
Can someone tell me if Zagoria is a Kentucky alumn? His website completely panders to the Kentucky fanbase.
At first i thought your post was a lil crazy, but after thinking about it some, i think you're right. Selden and Mason are likely to enter the draft and become 2nd round picks. I believe Briscoe is better than you think, but if he does come back for a second year to play more pg, i wouldn't be shocked.

no one cares about kansas hype.
I think Briscoe is a good player, but has a lot to work on in his game and won't be able to use his size advantage, like he did in high school, in college. I think he's Andrew Harrison light.
eta: Missed the second round pick shot. Likewise, Briscoe and Ulis would be second round picks if they decided to enter the draft.
It may seem like a shot at KU for saying that, but i really didn't mean for it to be. When i see Mason and Seldon, i don't see nba players. Maybe i'm wrong and Mason takes that extra step and learns to actually become a pg. If that happens, he could become a first rounder. With Seldon, i don't have much hope for him becoming any better than he's shown at KU. I know you guys think this is the year he finally becomes what he's always been expected to become, but i don't buy it and won't until it happens. The only reason you might be right about Ulis is height concerns only. He has more game and talent than all 3 guards. Briscoe has better handles than Andrew. I have never seen Andrew be able to take a guard off the dribble with a crossover. Where do you have Murray? The NBDL?
You ku guys realize that fox is about to commit to UK, right? It's the worst kept secret in recruiting this season. There's more argument about Giles, who is practically a Duke lock, for goodness sake.
.
When Fox and Monk decides on UK, we're going to have the best backcourt in the nation and it won't even be close. I can't wait until it happens so this KU fan can tell us which set of decent guards KU has on the roster will be a better duo. If we get Fox and Monk, i hope Gabriel will be open to play some at the 4. That will be a very quick lineup that will destroy teams on the fast break. Sorry for all the replies in this thread guys, i'm just trying to get the conversation back on topic now.
If that happens, you would have the most talented backcourt in the country based on potential. Other teams may have better experience and maturity.
Memphis 2008 had a more talented backcourt with Rose and Douglas-Roberts, but KU had better college players with Chalmers/Robinson who also had more experience.
Briscoe isn't a deadeye by any means, but he can shoot better than he's given credit for. I'd guess him to hit 35% or so. He won a couple 3-point competitions this past summer.Ulis - height issue.
Briscoe - can't shoot, won't be able to overpower defenders, was ball dominant in high school, will have to show he can create for others. I think it will take him time to develop these skills, but he can be an NBA player in a couple of years.
Murray - one and done talent then off to the NBA.
I think Selden has a shot at getting drafted this year. He's always shown glimpses, he has just been inconsistent. Many of the UConn and Louisville points who were short 2g got drafted. So can Mason.
I would still take Rose and Douglas-Roberts talent wise over Chalmers and Robinson. Yeah, you guys won it all, but if the tigers don't choke, you don't. In case you haven't noticed, here at UK we take talent over experience every single year and for the most part, it seems to work. I'm sure you're right and some unknown backcourt will make a run for whatever team in the tourney, but if i had to put money on it, i would take our duo of Fox and Monk and feel pretty good about our chances. I know you're using the word potential like it's a bad thing. Do you really think Fox or Monk is overrated and won't be great college players? If we're talking NBA, maybe. In college i feel they are as close as a sure thing as you're going to get. I know potential used to be a bad word and only meant a player isn't as good as he was supposed to be, but here at Kentucky, our guys usually look the way they're suppose to look.
