Right at the start of September the UK staff started reaching out to top 2017 targets.
It came as a bit of surprise that there hadn't yet been contact between Kentucky and Camaron Spence, a four-star defensive tackle originally from the DMV but now at IMG Academy. It was only surprising because UK offered Spence early and there seemed to be some interest.
The UK staff is now in touch with Spence and he's very receptive to what they've got to say.
Ohio State has been a fixture in his recruitment but he's keeping a pretty open mind and, fact is, the Buckeyes can't take everybody they might want. Chad Scott is recruiting Spence.
Spence has consistently told me that he likes the Wildcats and what they're trying to build. Not much in the way of specifics yet but the lines of communication are open and this guy is someone the Cats would really love. High on the wish list.
