Former Kansas guard in trouble with DUI

Whoa I need to go back to my site.

This guy was stupid to leave and was stupid to go to Wichita where he's a mini-celebrity. If he wanted to grow as a player and a person, living in your own tiny celebrity bubble with an overbearing father just down the road is no place to do it. He should have gone to Colorado or Creighton, alone, and grown up a little bit to become his own man.

Instead his father demanded a meeting with Bill Self and said if Self couldn't guarantee that Conner would be the starter he was going to transfer. Since Self as a general rule doesn't do that, he was gone.

Sad situation.

I don't begrudge an 18-19 year old making this kind of mistake. Fortunately, he didn't hurt anyone or himself. His father needs a reality check though. He would have gotten serious run this year with KU even if he had to come off the bench. Overbearing parents. Smh.

I'm sure CU would have love to have gotten him. They could certainly use him this year. A program which was one the way up has taken a nose dive. That said, I suspect if he's so inclined he have a lot more opportunity to get in trouble here than in Wichita. And if that's what his dad told Self, well that's just plain stupid. Somehow I'm betting Self knows a little more about who should be starting for his team.

I have a friend, whose family just relocated to SA from Wichita. The family loves the Shockers and they like KU as well. When news broke that frankamp was transferring to WSU, he was not happy! He said the kid was a head case and his father meddled in his affairs constantly in High School. He said that he could potentially mess up the good thing they have going out there. Anyway, just something that I heard and figured I'd pass along!
