Meanwhile Zion's family got a million dollar home to live in when he went to Duke. 🤣"The improper benefits included a photo shoot at Times Square, jet ski rentals and tickets to New York Knicks, Brooklyn Nets and New York Giants games."
Thankfully the NCAA remains on top of this kind of thing and diligent in maintaining the sanctity of college athletics. Get'em NCAA!! Keep doing the Lord's work!
Apparently this was for things that happened in the 21 & 22 seasons which was pre NIL I guess. Who knows? It's the NCAA and they do what they want, when they want and to whom they want. You can pay a kid a million dollars. But you can't rent him a jet ski. Or buy him a ticket to a ball game.
Sounds about right.
To be fair, forcing kids to watch the Giants seems like cruel and unusual punishment and probably should come with some penalties.tickets to New York Giants games.
I today's Naples Daily News so I can't link it but FGCU was fined $25k and put on probation for "impermissible" benefits.Good God. There are multi-million dollar bidding wars going on right now and they’re handing out sanctions over what couldn’t be more than a few hundred bucks.
That’s just embarrassing.
What a joke. I’d give them the number to their lawyers and tell them to kick rocks."The improper benefits included a photo shoot at Times Square, jet ski rentals and tickets to New York Knicks, Brooklyn Nets and New York Giants games."

Worked for tennesuck and uncheat. What a joke. I’d give them the number to their lawyers and tell them to kick rocks.
dammitFordham?!?
Sounds like KU, UNC or Duke must have broken some rules, then. The norm for the NCAA has been to hit some little school when their big favorites are under scrutiny.
It occurred before all this NIL stuffI had to check if this was an old thread somebody dug up. Recruiting violations are still a thing?
The violations were in 22 & 23 seasons and NIL officially started in 2021 but not to the same degree they are now. The sanctions were handed out last week.It occurred before all this NIL stuff
Came here to say this. Dude was awesome.“The NCAA was so mad at Kentucky they gave Cleveland State two more years of probation."
Tark
There is such a thing as recruiting violations I thought we were in 2025.....The toothless lion (NCAA) has struck again.

It's OK for North Carolina for over 2 decades to put their players in classes that a 5 year old kid could pass & for Duke years before NIL came along to put the families of 5-Star recruits in $million dollar homes. But how dare Fordham would do this. The toothless lion (NCAA) has struck again.

So did Marvin Bagleys .Meanwhile Zion's family got a million dollar home to live in when he went to Duke. 🤣

Yeah, that's who you want as prime examples of integrity right there.Worked for tennesuck and uncheat.
Mark Emmert opened his celebratory bourbon after hearing that news.
Those old gyms are so cool.Filthy Fordham just running amok and making a mockery of amateur athletics!! Personally, I am disgusted.
Watched this video recently on Fordham’s super old basketball gym. Kinda shows how small time and humble the program is.
