Is it possible that at least a couple of the decommits in the last couple of weeks may have been 'pushed' by our staff to perhaps look elsewhere? Seems like we're picking up new commits to replace them awful quick...or were the new commits always the back-up plan and got quick phone calls? Just seems like an awful lot of strange activity this close to signing day. I know that high school kids change their minds all the time, but it just seems like a lot.

I wouldn't say "pushed", but I think the staff had more back-up plans than we realized. They have their reasons.

Maybe one or two, but not all. Unlike Bama where kids are getting their marching papers, our numbers are no where near as tight. Kids just had soft verbals at UK, and thought they had better opportunity elsewhere, coupled with losing the coach(es) on campus they connected to and you lose a few.

On the positive side, having so many open spots gives you opportunity to take guys the others can't in the end, because they have waited too long to make their minds up, been recruited over, gotten qualifying scores late, etc. So adding quality guys in the end is possible.

^^^This, our class wasn't completely full, so I think the coaches were hoping to add about 7 to 8 players by signing day, don't think any were told to look anywhere else they were just soft commitments to begin with. A lot of what we are seeing is not just happening to our program, a lot of kids in this class seem to be flipping or changing their minds at the last minute for whatever reason. I look for us to pick up at least five to six more commits before Wednesday just from the way kids seem to be changing their minds and losing offers from other schools as everything plays out. Still believe our class ends up ranked in the low to mid 30s nationally and as good as our class was last year I'm fine with that, if we go bowling next year like I think we will, we should be looking to be in the 20s or the teens next year.

While it's possible, I think it's highly unlikely. It's not like we have 26 verbal commitments.
