A poster on the scout board seriously made the argument that the basketball game should be done away with but when the next poster responded "they might make a bowl game if we dump the football series" responded that the football game wouldn't/couldn't be done away with.

Yes, I had to visit that UL forum and it was comical. However, when we lose unfortunately I see some of the same type of posts about the refs. According to the Cardinal site, the refs were real biased in favor of Kentucky every year, they missed tons of fouls Kentucky made such as that block by Ulis and the other by Poy (both good blocks by the way). So, so often fans see what they want remembering every call that goes against their team and forgetting every call that is missed to their behalf. I also absolutely loved Cal's halftime comment. He is so funny.

All in all, I feel like it will be another good New Year as I would have hated to lose this game after getting that big lead.

One thing I will add that the UL board may have gotten right (although there is never anyway to know). That is Hawkins instead of Briscoe gave Kentucky some outside shots and although he bricked a couple free throws, he also made several which has been more than what we have been able to count on so far with Briscoe. Not saying Briscoe isn't the better player, but in this game Hawkins may actually have been the MVP considering the time he played and what he accomplished on both ends of the court.

Many on the rivals board are saying this. They say it only helps us and it is our super bowl and we have nothing to lose. Was it not them who wanted this renewed way back when. Yes it was. What is that old saying: "Be careful what you wish for, you might get it." Well, they got it. Not so sure they got it in a sense that they really understand it but, more physically and emotionally. It is good to be the KING. BTW, for any UL fans that might read this, we have everything to lose in this game and you have well........nothing.

Losing to ul sucks worse than beating them feels good. I put up with a bunch of ul fans and the were all Lippy the last week and they will be quiet as church mice next week. Can't even talk trash to most cause they so quickly go to "I don't care" mode.

They're bashing Pitino (No-show Pitino) pretty badly on Scout. They can say (as Rick does) that this game is meaningless, but when your neighbor is a 'Ville fan (as mine is), it sure is sweet.

Well we already replaced Indiana with providence the last two years and Arizona state this year and it has helped improve UK's strength of schedule. So perhaps uk can replace Louisville with UConn or Michigan state. If the NCAA hits them with sanctions then they probably will need to be replaced because they won't even provide an easy ranked win anymore.

Id love to drop UL altogether. Much rather play IU personally but would also be happy with a slew of other teams too.

They would absolutely fill our game with another cupcake and go into ACC play every year as the worst undefeated team and probably get rolled at a .500 clip.
