Florida tweet

if you read the 71 replies the OP is the only one with that opinion. everyone else thinks he crazy. most of them think that Billy will get them back very soon and a new streak against us begins.
Napier is reciting really well, it way to early to make a judgement on Napier, but it funny that somebody in the fanbase is praying stoops leave

1) I would be shocked if he went to Nebraska. They’d have to come in with a ginormous over-the-top offer and a huge guaranteed NIL pool.
2) Its pretty hilarious that we’ve got Florida to the point of feeling like this.
3) This came from a recruiting account but would make more sense from just a UF football account. They’ve got us in recruiting but we got them on the field.

Why is it assumed that Stoops leaves if Nebraska calls him? Most of the writers seem to think that Nebraska has to make him say no, but that it's likely that he would. Forde is an exception but Forde hates UK.
I don’t think it is, I think it says more that Florida can account is praying stoops leaves

HS kids being recruited now only know that UK is a good program and Nebraska sucks. This isn't 1971 anymore. UK is a better program than Nebraska now. They have the history but today's kids really could care less about history.

Look for Nebraska to end up with Matt Campbell. He's done a good job at a place that's hard to win at, he's in a similar region where it's hard to recruit and he seems to develop his players.

Maybe if we can look back in 5 years and see that we are better than .500 against them, home and away, for the last 10 years. Not sure how many chances we will get before we are in the new SEC schedule. Three? 5 straight before the division is retired would be sweet.
3 of 5 and 2 of 3 in the Swamp and 2 in a row over all.
Ownage
UK used to be their bitch; now the Gators are ours.
They hate us now.

That image was Forde kneeling before the Lord. But the Lord did not know him so his words fell empty and meaningless.

That and the number of programs who would have been as patient as Kentucky was with stoops you can count on your hand
This is the key... and it will continue. He doesn't care about emulating Paul Bryant, nor do we. If it happens, great. Meanwhile, as long as we have our own Hayden Fry, he and we will be happy all the same. We've never had that.

We are about 29 games from "owning" the Gators. Why is it that people that don't even think we will win the games are the first to go to extremes of emotion and hyperbole after a victory? It's 2 games. Let's keep it going, but thinking we "own" anyone in the SEC is silly. Every opponent is tough.

The misunderstanding here is that Stoops doesn't need to build a resume anymore, so he doesn't need a lengthy time period to rebuild programs that have a history. He just needs 3 years to get things going.

The problem with Nebraska is that you can't show the highlights of their best years because kids can't relate to that offense anymore. It's about as far from an nfl style offense as you can get these days. No one wants to see it.

-Once Stoops wins the SEC East, he will be one of if not the leading candidate(s) for any job he wants. He's already on the list if there are any vacancies anywhere right now, no question.
-White likewise is at the top of many lists right now. We're really going to have to fight to keep him, and money won't be the only factor.

Stoops Troops! UK has locked him down, not that it can’t be bought out but give the man what he needs. We need him to give it his all for his entire Career. He’s our guy.
College football needs another loyal lifer of a coach like Bobby Bowden was at FSU or Joe Paterno (before the mess) one of those guys that stays until he retires and makes the program a powerhouse where in 10-15 years the kids we're recruiting wouldn't have even been alive during our historically struggling years and we are competing with the likes of Bama and UGA for the best of the best.

One can dream.

I see CMS as a 21st Century Bill Snyder (Kansas St). Coach Snyder started off 1-10; 5-6; 7-4; 5-6 and KSU stayed patient. They had to because they were the undisputed worst D1A/FBS program in the nation prior to his arrival in 1989.

He finished 215-117-1 with 3 Div championships, 2 B12 conference titles, 3 BCS bowl appearances, AND a boat-load of respect as one of the GREAT rags-to-riches football coaches who stayed with one school as HC.

CMS is also starting a solid of a coaching tree at UK.....following in the footsteps of Snyder who employed/mentored Bennet (SMU), Bielema (Wiscy, Ark, Illinois), Leavitt (So FL Bulls), Mangino (KU), Dimel (Houston), Bob Stoops (OU), Mark Stoops (UA), and Brent Venables (OU).

It just might be that CMS wants to be the Bill Snyder or Bobby Bowden of today. I'd let him stay on for a while :)

GBB!

The longer a coach stays at a program the less likely he ever leaves. Hard to think of any examples of a coach that stayed 10 years at one place and left. The way I think about it is after a coach has been at a place round 5 years it becomes more like a marriage, and leaving is more like a divorce, whereas the coaches that get fired after 2 or 3 years is more like breaking up with the person you've been dating.

Well don’t tell me that because CMS is divorced and his family lives three states away.

No, its 3 in 5 yrs post Streak. Its also 2 of 3 in the Swamp and 2 straight overall. Yes, we currently own them.

-Spurrier is the first one that immediately comes to mind.
-Saban only had 5 years at LSU and 5 at MichSt. -Carroll left USC after 10 yrs and (buying) national 2 titles.
-Nutt was at Arkansas for 10 yrs before going to Ole Miss and fizzling out.
-Tommy Tuberville had some help leaving Auburn after 10 years there.
-Edsall at UConn was there a while. At least 7-8 yrs before he left.
-RichRod... how many years did he have at WV? 7?

Forgot Chris Peterson @BoiseSt. Think he was there more than 10 years.

I think Edsall and RichRod are they only two the left for "bigger" college programs - and neither worked out.
Spurrier, and Carroll left for the NFL. Saban left his second stop LSU for the NFL.
Can't remember what exactly happened to Tuberville and Nutt but I'm thinking they were both shoved out the door.
I don't see any that stayed 10 years at a program and left for another college program and succeeded.
