Florida Got Hosed

I actually don’t think their bracket is that unmanageable. I definitely understand respecting UConn as a potential second round game, but unless you’re counting on Hurley pulling a rabbit out of his hat, they don’t have the results or the metrics to make them any scarier than a typical 8 seed. If anything, the committee may have done Florida a favor by letting them avoid the actual outlier on that seed line in Gonzaga.

As for St. John’s, I know it’s risky to bet against Pitino, but they may actually be one of my candidates for an early exit. Their defense is great, but you don’t see many 2 seeds who struggle to score as much as they do (65th in adjusted efficiency on Kenpom). I wouldn’t be surprised if that bites them before the Elite 8, but if they do get that far, I think Florida handles them.

Don’t underestimate big names. St a John’s is a horrible matchup for Fla
Florida is a horrible match up for St. johns also. Florida has beaten more quality teams, have tremendous depth, loaded in the front court, back court, middle court. They can rotate 4 quality bigs in and out, have elite guard play. How exactly does St. Johns stop them ? Nobody in the SEC could. The blew thru the SEC tournament, pretty sure the SEC is a lot better / deeper than the Big East. Which is why St. Johns has so few quad 1 games.
UF - #3 NET / 7-3 road / 8-0 Neutral site / 11-4 quad 1 / 9-0 quad 2
St. Johns - #13 NET / 8-2 road / 4-2 Neutral site / 6-4 quad 1 / 11-0 quad 2.

I may be alone, but I think with their schedule, St. Johns is a little OVER valued. I don't think they make it to face Florida. They may not get passed Kansas / Arkansas or Texas Tech.

Did you know Grant’s middle initial isn’t S? It was written incorrectly on his nomination to West Point and…well, the rest is history.
And Harry S. Truman had no middle name.

He came home from first grade complaining the other kids had middle initials, so his Mom said, “you are Harry S. Truman, from now on.”

The Justice who swore him in on April 12, 1945, when word reached Washington that FDR had passed in Georgia, assumed his middle initial stood for a Family name from Kentucky, “Shippe.” The Justice actually used that middle name for Truman to repeat, but Truman responded “I, Harry S. Truman . . . .”

I think they have a pretty easy run. Honestly, UConn might be the hardest game they will have.
I’m going to assume you haven’t watched Maryland and Texas tech if you think UConn is Floridas hardest game. Maryland and TT are damn good teams. I’d argue Florida has to go against the best 3 and 4 seeds out of any other team.

Maryland has 0 bench. Literally. And TT is good but 2 starters were out last game so they are slightly dinged up. Florida will throttle both.

And Ricky P. has a pretty good tourney record, If I Recall Correctly . . . .

That guy is a true survivor . . . he even gets standing ovations, again, in Lexington, Kentucky!!!!

For historical context, US Grant and Abe Lincoln don’t get standing ovations in the South, yet!!
As to Pitino being a true survivor, you said nothing of his resilience in the face of stds from skanks.

Lol I can't understand the erasure and love for this guy. I'm sorry Pope, you can love your coach, and I'll stick with him being a traitorous adulterous slimeball.
